1:1 halftime Fairly decent game by PAOK. Expect different lineup in second half.
-
Michal Krmencik was loaned by Brugge to Slavia Prague. Part of the deal is that if Slavia qualifies to the CL group stage, they will pay Brugge 2.5 million Euro for his rights.
-
'B' teams can't take part in the Greek Cup competition.
-
We have signed a 21 year old defensive midfielder Ismahila Ouedraogo from Burkina Faso. I am certain this signing is for the 'B' team.
-
PAOK agreed with Swiderski to extend his contract by 2 years. There is no buyout clause. The contracts will be signed when the team returns from Holland.

In Archery Evaggelia Psarra competing in her 6th Olympics finished 44th (out of 64 competitors) in the Ranking Round and as a result will face Lin of Taipei in the Round of 32 elimination round. This morning we had the opening ceremonies with Korakaki and Petrounias as the flag bearers for for Greece:
-
Crespo out for 3 weeks.
-
Dudelange - Bohemians 0:1 in the first leg of their tie. Looks like we will be travelling to Ireland.
-
Another LB we are supposedly interested in: Pedro Rebocho

I think only one will be cut. Actually he is gone already.

Concerning the times, keep in mind that Greek time is 6 hours behind Tokyo time, so today's 8:40 rowing event will be at 2:40 Greek Time (EEST). US Central Daylight Time (CDT) is 14 hours behind Tokyo time, so the same rowing event at 8:40 will be on at 18:40 (6:40 PM) on July 22.

They have been doing it with all their pre-season games. So is Volos.

Just watched the Surinam - Guadeloupe game and it was an entertaining affair. Surinam managed to squeak a 2:1 victory (their first ever in the CONCACAF Gold Cup). They played almost one hour with a man advantage after a Guadeloupe player was sent off. Biseswar played ok. Technically he was probably the best player on the field, but he is clearly out of shape. The most exciting part of the game was in the 92nd minute after a nasty foul on Biseswar which resulted in a bench clearing affair and several cards being handed out. It looked like Diego might have sustained a serious injury, but eventually he got up and walked away on his own.

It's not tomorrow's game pash. It's our final game against Feyenoord that will be played with four 30 minute quarters. It will feel like an NBA game.
-
Isn't that a rumor from previous transfer periods? Might be a smoke screen rumor while we are working on a different target.
-
Mihaj's MRI did not show any damage and he is ok to train. Zivkovic complained about pain where he was injured yesterday and will most likely miss tomorrow's game against Heracles.
-
PAOK as a sport club will be represented by 3 athletes in the upcoming Olympics in Tokyo. They are: Odysseas Melanidis (Swimming - 4x100 meter Relay) Alexis Danatsidis (Judo - 81 kg) Elizabeth Teltsidou (Judo - 70 kg) Besides those three there are at least two Greek athletes that are competing in the Olympics that belong to other clubs that I know are self-proclaimed PAOK supporters: Anna Korakaki (Shooting - 10m pistol, 25 m pistol) Kostas Douvalidis (Track & Field - 110 m Hurdles) Another athlete that used to compete for PAOK, but is now part of another club is the swimmer Anna Doudounaki. Good luck to those and all the Greek athletes at the Tokyo Olympics.

I think Vierinha's injury happened during morning practice after being hit by his teammate. In the afternoon practice Zivkovic got bruised up, but returned to the field after a while. Mihaj will have an MRI on his previously injured knee after he complained about pain. They are falling like flies out there.

My guess is that we received an offer for Warda from another team (Galatasaray?), and the personal problem is just an excuse. We should know for sure in couple days.
