  4. After yesterday's fiasco I really have my doubts that we can come out and win this game.
  5. As pash mentioned in the other topic the game will be played behind closed doors due to COVID. Only 200 spectators will be allowed in the stadium.
  6. Strange things are happening right before this game. The coach that will sit on the Atromitos bench on Sunday Giorgos Korakakis has been spotted dining in Piraeus restaurant with Mark Clatenburg who is in charge of assigning refs in the Superleague games. Also present at the dinner was Deppy Koxenoglou, the wife of old referee Vassaras and close friend with VP of UEFA Theodoridis, who is the son of the now deceased clown that used to be a spokesman for Olympiakos. Obviously something is cooking as far as refereeing is concerned. For starters, Clattenburg assigned the Athenian based Evaggelou as the ref for Sunday's game.

  8. Draw is tomorrow. As far as I know there are no seeded/unseeded teams so theoretically anybody can be drawn against anybody. However we all know that this will not happen. I will be quite surprised if any of the top 4 are drawn against each other.
  9. You need 7 positive cases in one day for that to happen. Game is on as scheduled for now but a lot can happen until Sunday.
  10. After losing to Russia and tying Faeroe Islands we needed a win to qualify. Bad outcome considering the games took place in Greece.
  11. Swiderski scoring the tying goal for Poland against Hungary.

  15. Best option right now is to keep the current coach. The current players play for him and give it their all. They don't see the national team as a nuisance like some players in the past. Thankfully those players are gone. Only players that want to play on the national team and respect the coach should be called up. Bringing in a Greek coach right now, specially Donis, will be a step in the wrong direction. Another thing that needs to be pointed out is that Greek football is sick. There is no patience to develop the players. In 2004 a lot of the NT players were part of the U21 team that qualified to the U21 final against Spain. What has the current U21 team done lately? They can't even qualify from the group stage. And than you have the domestic leagues, where majority players are foreign based and Greek player don't get any playing time. No wonder the NT coach has to scan 2nd and 3rd division teams in Europe to find players with Greek roots that might be called up.
  16. Typical Greek NT. Can't put games against smaller teams away. Until we start putting away the smaller teams we will not go anywhere. Will be mistake to fire the coach now unless you bring in back Santos. Several players have no place on the team either.
  17. Swiderski came in in the 77th minute.
  18. Squad for the game:
  19. Michailidis, Tsiggaras and Lyratzis played with U21 in the winning game (2:0) against Belarus today. Tsaousis did not make the squad. Mihaj and Swiderski are starting on the bench for their respective teams. Oedraogo did not play in the Algeria - Bulrkina Faso (1:1) game.
  20. Miracles don't happen every day. We are playing quite a superior team. I would not go in all attack mode. We can only play them like we did the first half relying on counters to catch them off guard. If we open up it will be a disaster. All we can hope for is a lucky bounce early to put us back in the game, and hope for the best. However the most likely outcome is that Spain will win quite easily. Masouras was clearly offside on the play and the goal correctly did not count. The penalty call is questionable, but they should have known that this ref is known as "penaltakias" which was proven in a couple Superleague games in the past.
  21. Zivkovic started in the friendly game against Qatar but was subbed in the second half. Kurtic was left off the squad in the game against Slovakia since he is serving a yellow card ban.
  22. The games that sealed our fate were the two ties against Georgia and Kosovo.
  23. Gustavo Varela, the PAOK U19 team player and the son of Fernando Varela came in as substitution for Portugal in the U17 Euro qualifying game against Kazakhstan in the 63rd minute. Portugal won 5:0.
  24. The game against Panserraikos will be available on PAOK TV.
