In an ideal world, the 14 teams with no play off would be great. Unfortunately, financial considerations will rule. The networks want to run more ads, and they know the most expensive ads would play during derbies. It will take a big effort to eliminate those (an effort well worth taking IMO).

Did some twitter searchin' last night and was surprised that people seemed pretty happy for him. EPL fans tend to be particularly caustic. Only saw two snide comments ("plays in a weak league" and "statspadding"), which really surprised me.

It's exactly the kind of attention the club needs. Get people from all over the place intrigued. Show 'em what we've got. Even during the CL qualifiers this year, the commentators had some surprisingly nice things to say about us. I can tell you for a fact Savvidis doesn't want PAOK to be a power in Greece. He wants us to have some swagger internationally. Akpom, btw, is a big draw for the Brits from what I've picked up.

I think Shakhov has been huge since Wernbloom got injured. Had a hell of a game today. I'll admit that I am STARTING to think I'm wrong about El Kaddouri. If he keeps playing like this, perhaps I wouldn't mind keeping him. But perhaps even better - if he keeps playing like this, his price tag will only go up. Win-win, really.

I agree, he's a prime candidate to come back. I was just ranting to bananas about this, but I think we'll let Henrique go once his contract is over (vs trying to sign him again) and go for a BIG signing at wing. But with him gone, we'll still have room for another since El Kaddouri will be gone as well. I'd like to see him in that slot, if my pumpkin GM27 doesn't come back (which seems to be the case).
