Biseswar to the rescue

We're not looking great. Decent attempt by Henrique just now though. Would have been a goal if it was on target.

I did see one site claim that Swiderski was probably getting the start. I don't think the striker is the problem. Frankly, I think we'll crush them regardless of lineup - they now have something to be angry about.

Funny thing about Canas - one of the "paok news" instagram accounts had a post a week or two ago where they basically said that he's on his way out, etc etc. Someone responded to the post (tagging Canas) with "oh you were such a great player, I'm sorry you're on your way out" etc etc etc (or something to that effect). And Canas responded to it (via emoticons). So he's basically not denying that he's on his way out. Long story short, I don't think Canas or Shakhov will be here next summer. IF we get Oliveira, we're looking at a lineup of Mauricio/Wernbloom/Oliveira/Misic, and probably a fifth (Balogiannis? Charisis?). I'd say that's a net improvement, personally.

Jaba and El Kaddouri are hurt - it doesn't sound like this is a serious injury for either, but they seem very likely to miss the cup. Biseswar will also be losing a game soon due to cards (though I don't think they'll do it for this one, if the Cup is even applicable to this punishment). Bad move, calling that foul on Akpom. But that set of plays/battling, is exactly why he fits with Lucescu's style better than Prijo. Great effort by him.

Oliveira comin' on, Shakhov off

Yeah, Mauricio has made just as many mistakes as Shakhov. Very poor passing in the middle of the field by us. The only thing that saves us is that Aris is so tragically terrible that they lose the ball very quickly too. I still think Biseswar should be subbed out for Pelkas. My inclination is to take Shakhov off for Oliveira, but Mauricio hasn't been rested in a while so it might be worth it to get him off too.
