Of course the player wants more money. I think the Wernbloom/Oliveira combination is going to be real interesting next summer. We weren't likely to go up against CL-caliber teams without a defensive midfielder, so we were likely to see him anyway. Hopefully he'll be fully fit in time.

Sucks. If there was any question before if the value of buying Oliveira or equivalent, this should put it to rest. Saw on one of the paok Instagram accounts (not run by the club) that it was a six month estimate. Either way, he's missing CL qualifiers.

Yeah. Though I think that for the rest of the season, we're still in okay shape. Mauricio is a blow but as long as he's not out for 7 months (in other words, a meniscus injury that will take him through CL qualifying), then we should have all the firepower we need to make it to the end. And even if that does happen, perhaps Wernbloom will live up to his potential in the summer and we won't miss him at all. Who do we have right now, active? Misic, Oliveira, Shakhov, Canas...Balogiannis is also available but won't see any game time. Still a better midfield than essentially any other team in the league (and DEFINITELY better than the people we'll see over the next two months).
