I know what your saying but we haven't had an effective attacking midfielder since Karagounis. Also Donis knows how to carry the ball. I believe he could do well there just like on the wing. Pelkas has better crosses so he would be effective bringing the ball in from the wing. Lazaros has some pace on him still. Fortounis hasn't been playing well lately and I'm tired of waiting for him to show up.

This could actually happen. Maybe we try Kourbelis in for Zeca and see what he has to offer. Bakakis and Kivrakidis should be tried at right back in order to see who can replace Torosidis. Retsos could be good at right back but I'd rather have pure right back play. I so really like to see Donis used as a second striker or attacking midfield. We know what he can do on the wing. I also think he is our go to guy for the left wing position.

That's sounds good Boxou. I also see Gianniotis getting a chance. What happened to Anestis? I agree about the midfield position. No more Tziolis and Maniatis. You forgot to mention the attacking midfield options. Fortounis, Pelkas and Mantalos should have it locked in with Bakasetas and maybe Chatzigiovanis battling it out for the last spot. But I'd definitely go with those three. I'd like to try Donis as the number 10 but we are very limited on the wings. Lamprou should definitely be given a chance but I don't know about Masouras yet. To me Tsimikas and Barkas are future call ups in my opinion.

Bakakis, Retsos, Kone and Fetfatzidis should be called up. Retsos got into the team of the week as well as Sokratis. I like Maniatis but his time is over. Sane goes for Tziolis. I also would like Tsimikas and Lykogiannis to battle it out for the left back spot. These games are a must win but we also need to give other deserving players chances.

That's not a bad line up Rockafeller. I don't think Siopis will make it in time for the friendlies as he is injured. Would like to see that line up. Maybe Kourbelis could start next to Galanopoulos. I'd also like to win these matches so I'd have Lazaros and Donis playing. Maybe Giakoumakis deserves a call up. But he has only played one good game. Limnios is the same age as Lamprou. I'd also like to see Mavropanos in the team but I don't see that as a possibility. Retsos and Donis are our future stars. So it's best they play the majority of these games. Kyriakopoulos for Asteras is also decent but Tsimikas is better.

So does that mean he misses the friendlies in March? He probably wouldn't be picked as we are trialling a few players.

We are playing against Egypt and Switzerland in March and 1 in June.

Absolutely. If he is picked hopefully he doesn't play like Lazaros does in the national team.

Yeah true. That's what I was thinking but he has got something and lately he has been performing consistently. Pelkas is another decent option. We should see him in the team now that Mantalos is injured.

I agree. Giannoulis is another player who has been playing well. He takes good set pieces. Risvanis has been playing well and is one of the reasons Atromitos have been doing well this season. Lazaros Lamprou has been in good form as well. He is very good in one on one situations. He can finish when he has the chance. Hopefully Kourbelis has a good amount of minutes in the upcoming friendlies. Also there are not many abroad that deserve call ups. Donis and Karelis are the only ones who deserve call ups in my opinion. Hopefully Limnios and Galanopoulos get called up.

What are everyone's thoughts on Vasilakakis? He is 30 but is playing very well. Better than Fortounis.

I am fan of Tsitontas. I believe he will be great one day. He's already showing good promise. Paschalakis should be given a shot straight away. He has been playing very well since the PAS Giannina days. Karnezis should not be called up we all know what he is capable of. This needs to be a team of new faces so we can try out who is good enough.

I don't think Koutris is ready yet. He needs to work on a few things. Bakakis is ready on the other hand.

He should go to the premier league. It would be fun watching him play there Also Manolas would do well there aswell.

Why dont we just call up the majority of the u21s and some from the u19s lol. Talk about a complete overhaul. But seriously we need to play our best possible players that are actually playing. Mitroglou hasn't played much as well as Stafylidis. Even though they are our best players in there position we need to be playing the best players who are next in line who are playing. Eg. Stafylidis for Lykogiannis and Donis for Mitroglou. That's how I'll do it. Unless there is a big margin between our players which in our case there isn't.

Apparently he has been doing very well for the u23s side.

I believe Manthatis is a good player. He is playing well for PAS but he hasn't scored. I can't wait to see him as a regular player in our team. I'd rather play Lamprou or Manthatis than Lazaro.

I'd like to note that Nikopolidis the coach of the u21s national team played a friendly a few months ago with b and c choices. Nearly the whole team was different. I'd like to see Skibbe do this with the senior national team.

He looked like his old self in that game. Who knows what could happen if he keeps up this form.

The thing is he is not as good for country as he is for club. It's frustrating when he plays sometimes because you expect better.

@La MendelYou seem to forget that Donis is still young and at 21 he has done more than Fortounis and Mantalos when they were his age. Also thank you for stating that Gianniotas did more in 15 minutes than Lazaros' 75 minutes. But when you say Donis was better as a backup at Nice than he is as a starter at Stuttgart is completely debatable. As I believe he is playing better this season. He hasn't scored the amount of goals needed to be classed as a solid player but his overall play is much better than Fortounis or Mantalos. I agree that we didn't have fighting spirit in the first match against Croatia as I believe that was the main reason why we lost. Skibbe should of not played Stafylidis, Samaris and Karnezis. Skibbe is apparently keeping an eye on Galanopoulos and Limnios. They could be in the roster for the friendly matches. Also said that Kone could make his return in the team.
