  1. Don't get me started on Sterling, the little shite. At least we got a good fee and no longer have to put up with his bad boy attitude. But it looks like Rodgers is going to spend 32.5million of the Sterling money on Benteke, who also seems very overpriced. But he can hardly be worse then Balotelli I guess.
  2. If he goes to Olympiakos I'll need to change my profile pic then.
  3. Now that Tsipras has switched sides, hopefully there is a rebellion or something. Greece cannot be allowed to surrender it's sovereignty to the EU.
  4. Greece should not accept any of the EU's humiliating measures. Tsipras should have just led Greece out of the Euro a long time ago, now it looks like the Germans may even force Greece out anyway. But I don't really care how Greece leaves, just as long as they break free from the Eurocrats.
  5. This vote is a sign of defiance against the Northern European politicians, the wealthy businessmen, bankers and the one-sided media corporations in Greece and abroad. The Euro currency is a disaster and more are beginning to realise this. Not just in Greece, it was great to see solidarity marches in other countries like Ireland, France, Britain and Spain in support of the Greek people. I know people have said parties similar to Syriza could do well in elections in Spain and Ireland, while right-wing Euro scepticism is rising in France. Europe is changing and the EU-oligarchy don't like it one bit.
  6. I'll happily criticise capitalism if you want. Capitalism creates greed and inequality. Some will still try and deflect the blame of this crisis upon communism, even though Greece has been capitalist for a long time and the EU is very capitalistic and neo-liberal. @Gyros the "scum" do not have to leave if the referendum doesn't go their way. Yes it may make it more likely, but its not a proper vote of no confidence. Even if Syriza fall, I don't think all the Greek voters are simply going to go back to the old EU cronies at PASOK and ND. I think such a dire situation could make people even more radical and vote Golden Dawn or KKE.
  7. This referendum goes back to the old question of whether you want a representative democracy (govn makes decisions for the people) or a direct democracy (people make decisions through referendums). Direct is of course more democratic and something the traditional establishment fears.I personally prefer referendums because my economic views are left-wing, while some of my social views are right-wing, so I find it hard to ever identify with a party. This is only one referendum and Greece isn't going to turn into Switzerland and hold one every week, but this is still pretty significant. Although I would have rather Tsipras just left the Euro when he got into office, hey he is Tsipras after all and not me. Now let the people decide.
  8. I'm with js on this one. Always preferred public services over private services operating for profit. My opinions on this debate don't differ whether its in the UK or Greece, or whether the economy is strong or weak. Its a classic left vs right wing argument, one that the right has been winning over the last 25 years or so across Europe. Anyway back on topic. I think it says something when even David f**king Cameron, Mr. Austerity himself, says that Greece may be better of leaving the Euro: http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/jun/26/cameron-told-eu-leader-greek-exit-from-euro-may-be-best-option
  9. Nazism/The Nazis got a Nuremberg trial for the ww2/holocaust atrocities, not Fascism because Fascism had little to do with it. The same way that the Bolshevik party should be the ones facing trial for the Gulags, not Marxism/Socialism as a whole. Nazism isn't even a proper political-economic system. Its just a term that comes from the National Socialist party, now banned of course. But it is no harder for a government to introduce a fascist economic system, than it is to introduce a socialist economic system. But both these have been repressed by the capitalist monstrosities of USA and EU since ww2. I don't know any countries that still have fascism and socialism only still exists in Latin America and Asia. Anarchism is also thriving in the state of Somalia.
  10. It is much easier to be pro-EU than pro-EZ. There used to be a lot more pro-EZ people before the economic crisis across Europe, but they've mostly shut up after the financial collapse. Now all the nations that didn't join the EZ like UK are thanking their luck that they didn't. I can see why loads of people are in favour of the concept of a united Europe/EU, but in practice the EU is far from perfect and very unaccountable.
  11. I think they changed that rule. I know the electoral system in Greece is not perfect, but I think it is much better than what system we've got here in the UK. Syriza only got like 36% of the total vote, but then they got bonus seats for being the largest party. I personally don't like the idea of bonus seats, but its only to help make a strong government. Even with those bonus seats we should remember that Syriza could not form a majority. So more that 36% voted for the government if you add Syriza and Ind Greek's votes together. Anyway my view is that Tsipras should not go down the same road as Samaras and Papandreou have before. Yeah I'm hoping for an exit, but I'm so sceptical of the EU on the whole that I'd want an exit regardless of the situation. These debates have become more unpredictable recently, but my hunch is still that Tsipras will end up buckling to the EU.
  12. Liverpool should have never sold Reina anyway. And well Valdes may not be Man Utd's reserve keeper for much longer also. But I'm not too fussed about having a dodgy ginger Hungarian as our back up keeper. It would be a bit pointless to spend a lot of money on a player to just ride the bench. Right-back, centre-mid and attack are the main areas that need strengthening.
  13. Berg just scored for Sweden in their qualifier vs Montenegro. Their 3-1 up, unsurprisingly Zlatan got the other two goals. Here is his goal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeOuHVQ2hoc
  14. Even though Makarian inherited most of these problems, he still has to go. We need someone new to lead us to the WC, which Makarian is probably too old for anyway. Now that Greece in Euro 2016 is not happening, there is no reason to keep the old crew of Torosidis ,Vyntra, Kats and Tzolis. I also want to see Lazaros and Kone out of the squad too. Those guys have been terrible recently (poor for their club sides too) and will be 33 and 32 by the time Russia 2018 comes around. Manolas has had a great season for Roma and I rate him highly, but if he plays like that he should be dropped to the bench for the next match. If K.Paps was fit I'd rather have him along side Sokratis, than Manolas. Samaris is another one who should take a seat on the bench, been so disappointed with him, 1 good game vs Ivory Coast in the WC, but shite ever since. I don't even know what to say about Mitroglou. He just can't finish his dinner. Give him credit for the great disallowed goal, wasn't his fault Toro was being an idiot and pushing that defender. But we just don't have that many other options in attack.
  15. Yet again these players are taking the fecking piss. Disgrace.
  16. I'd love it if both Wales and Cyprus qualified. Only problem is Cyprus have already played Andorra twice, so no easy points left.
  17. YER ENGERLAND! But I think England actually bided for 2018. Hopefully they run a second vote for Russia and Qatar's WCs it anyway, I think England would be good hosts considering they don't need to build any new stadiums, but I'm a bit biased here. Also some Prince from Jordan isn't exactly the kind of guy I'd want to see replacing Blatter to be honest.
  18. Can't remember seeing a more one sided final, Arsenal completely outplayed Villa. I wanted Villa to win, but they were hopeless today. Benteke did next to nothing, I'd rather Liverpool didn't sign Benteke for 30m based on that performance. Still well played Arsenal, Cazorla, Mertesaker and their whole team looked great today.
  19. Judging by that 2nd photo nearly all of them look to be young and middle aged men. And their supposed not to be economic migrants? If they were refugees from a war surely it would mostly be women and children. And if these men are Syrian then shouldn't they be fighting in a civil war right now?
