First off every team opens it up against Girbraltor and doesn't concede goals so that's no excuse, secondly from the first few games of the euro campaign I said our defence looks week and we are conceding easily, Have you not been watching from the start of the Euro until now? Can you honestly say our defence looks good? Do you not agree that we have been giving up goals in almost every game and even allowing the worst of teams to score on us? You do realize between Hungary,Finland,FI,NI Luxembourg, Iceland, Australia and Gibraltar we have conceded 15 GOALS in 8 games. That is a ridiculous amount of goals to give up against the caliber of teams on this list. If you think our defence isn't an issue and the goals against are justified then I have no clue what games you are watching.

^Totally agree, I think a lot of confidence is coming from the the fact that we beat the Netherlands and Austraila which is fine but it's only 2 games, and to be honest I'm a little less confident after the Gibraltor game, yes we scored 4 but we tied the second with them, plus conceded a goal and give them 3-5 premium scoring chances. Everyone is still talking about our world class defense but that is the most concerning for me as we have conceded goals in almost every game against the absolute worst teams, if our defense continues to play the way they are playing we won't qualify and I think we will get picked apart by Belgium and Bosnia. Really the only thing that has really changed from last year is we are getting some better results but the chances against us are the exact same it hasn't improved at all. I hope these wins have build confidence in this team but our inability to shut opponents out which has been a trade mark for us for so long scares the s%$#! out of me.

^ In order for me to feel very positive I need to see this team come out and get 6 points in a dominate performance against Cyprus and Estonia and get a minimum of a draw with Bosnia only then will I feel as confident that this team turned the corner and has the potential to make the world cup. But anything less then 6 points in the next two games will make it very difficult to advance.

^ I haven't heard to much about Kone, Any reason why Skibbed hasn't called him up? has he been Injured or just under performing?Any word on Ninis getting called up? I think he deserves a shot.

The Netherlands win was positive but come on bro make the world cup? make the top 8 in the world cup? and you basing this on what? the fact that we allowed Gibraltor to score on us or the fact that we ended up playing Gibraltor even in the second half and allowed them to have some glorious chances. lets not jump the gun I'm still very worried about this team beating Cyprus yet alone make the top 8 of the world cup when not even a year ago we lost to Luxembourg and the Faore islands. Lets relax and take a breath and take it one game at a time and see what happens in the next match which worries me.

I'm pretty sure most people on here agree that Holebas needs to be a starter. What happens now without Samaris starting the next two games who takes his spot? Not that Samaris has been anything great for us but he's the only guy we have.

Is he injured?

If we somehow beat Bosnia or Belgium we should make a significant jump. Beating Cyprus,Estonia and Gibraltor won't make us move any spots.

WTF is Skibbe thinking not call this guy up. Even if he didn't want to start him the guy should be on the bench. he is better then most players on our team yet he doesn't get called up.

Regardless if it were to happen or not why are we talking about this and we haven't even played our second qualifying game? Don't you think we are getting a little ahead of ourselves? Let's just stay focused on the next game and hope this team can stay in it when it comes time for the last match of the qualifier. As far as holebas goes I have a bad feeling Skibbe won't play him anymore either.

Let's stop thinking that Cyprus will give us the last match which would not happen. They are still a professional team and they will play for pride. Let's focus on the now. It's going to be a very hard much to win as I believe they are a faster team then us but I stand by what I said earlier in this form and if Greece can't beat Cyprus then they don't deserve to get out of this group, Not because Cyprus is bad rather they are not one if the top teams in this group and it will make it impossible to advance from this group. This is an absolute huge match coming up.

^I agree he needs to start playing better but unfortunately even if he doesn't he's pretty much our only option. I honestly don't think Samaris is as good as people think. To be honest he is a very average player that's playing like s%$#! right now and I don't see a huge upside.

Was Holebas complaint after the Gibraltor game or before? if he complained before the Gibraltor game well then that answers our questions to why he wasn't selected to play but if this came after the game then Skibbe is an absolute idiot for not selecting him to play against Gibraltor.

Do you guys really see a difference with the players Skibbe has selected over Raneri, Markarian, Tsanas selections? I just think the results have gotten a little better but I don't see a huge difference IMO. This is really concerning.

This really pisses me off. We all know that Holebas needs to be a regular starter for this team but as a professional he needs to learn to SHUT his mouth and do whatever the coach asks him to do and be a team player. I really hope this blows over because we do need him in the line up and I hope Skibbe doesn't hold a grudge and not use him going forward.

Bottom line if we can't beat Cypress at home then we don't deserve to advance out of this group.

Holebas needs to be in this line up and starting every game, his speed can make up for a lot of his mistakes and he's got more talent then most on this team. Tziolis and Vellios should never play again for this team period. Tzavellas should be a last resort. Giannatos needs a regular look as he showed hustle and good ball control but needs work on his crossing. Ninis needs to get a look with this squad. Even Fetfa should get another look. At the end of the day if we lose and we aren't good so be it but I want to lose by playing our absolute best line up which I still don't think we are doing. Skibbe selections made me lose confidence in him yesterday as I think a monkey could have made better and more attacking selection of players. with the line up we started yesterday we would be screwed against Belgium, Bosnia and I'm my sure we would even beat Cypres to be honest.

The only smart move was Giannatos coming on which I think he should have started to begin with, the kid deserved the shot after the Netherlands game. Horrible decision to have Tziolos come in. We new the game was won when we were up 4-1 so why not add more fire power like Karelis and Holebas? instead a useless Vellios comes in. The thought process of Skibbe really doesn't make sense with those selections. Samaris needs to get his s%$#! together and clean his act up as he looked horrible at times.

^Regardless if the rule applies or not we CANNOT compete in goal scoring with the likes of Bosnia and Belgium. We will NOT out score those teams. The only way Greece goes to a playoff is by be getting more points then either Belgium or Bosnia which will most likely require a win over one of these teams. If it has to come down to goal differential then Greece has NO CHANCE to qualify. When did we become one of the worst teams defensively? We can't shut out teams at all and this is a huge problem. Gibraltor against good teams barely register one shot on goal yet alone score and then create 3 or 4 more dangerous scoring chances. That's a bigger problem then only scoring 4.

^very true no matter what happens we will not have more goals scored then Belgium and Bosnia and I feel we do play better against better teams. Um just very concerned with Skibbe selections and his mindset behind it.. We played sloppy in the back end as well and allowed Gibraltor to have way to many chances and some grade A scoring chances.. Over all at least we got 3.

this is a pathetic 2nd half with brain dead substitution selections by Skibbe.
