  1. Kiriakos Zotos finished 10th in men's shot put Irini-Ria Mihala finished 13th place timed 35:04.60 which is her personal best. Usually, long-distance running is not a strength for Greece. She could have a positive future in other long-distance running events. Only 19 years old!
  2. In women's shot put Stamatia Skarvelis had better luck in qualifying for the finals with a throw of 15.79m.
  3. Iliana Korosidou automatically qualifies for the finals with a throw of 65.34m. No such luck for Stamatia Skarvelis to join her.
  4. Eleni-Klaoudia Polak just manage to grab the final spot for qualification by passing over 4.20 on her third try.
  5. So far today, Kiriakos Zotos qualifies for the finals in men's shot put. He will also compete in discus throw. In 30 minutes qualification of the men's javelin throw. I expect Ioannis Kyriazis to qualify.
  6. As far as Karalis goes, he will be in the Under 20 European Championship in Grosseto, Italy.
  7. Kenya is one of the worst countries to host a major track and field event (let alone youth level).
  8. Stefanidi won the London Diamond League with a mark of 4.81. No surprise there.

  10. In the upcoming under 18 World Championship in Nairobi, Kenya, the website has not posted the enter list of athletes. I will assume that Emmanoual Karalis will take part in pole vault after he won bronze in Cali, Colombia 2 years ago in the same event.

  13. She beat Pliskova! On to round three!
  14. Ioannis Kyriazis will be a heavy favorite to win gold at the Under 23 European Championship in Bydgoszcz, Poland. I'm not saying that because I am being cocky, it's because no one in that group has thrown better than 85 meters both season and personal bests.
  15. Better showing than the one in the French Open first round.
  16. I think this will be there second appearance at the World Championships. They also have an Olympic appearance too, host nation at the Athens 2004 games.
