  1. Stefanidi won the London Diamond League with a mark of 4.81. No surprise there.
  2. There is the U.S. Open coming up in August, she never made it out of the first round just like the French Open.
  3. In the upcoming under 18 World Championship in Nairobi, Kenya, the website has not posted the enter list of athletes. I will assume that Emmanoual Karalis will take part in pole vault after he won bronze in Cali, Colombia 2 years ago in the same event.
  4. Final entry list for Greek athletes in the Under 23 European Championship in Bydgoszcz, Poland. MENS Zaharias Tsamoudakis - 20km race walk Konstadinos Koutsoukis - 400m Kiriakos Zotos - Discus Throw and Shot Put Nikolaos Gavriilidis - Hammer Throw Ivan Menglebei - Hammer Throw Ioannis Kyriazis - Javelin Throw Adonios Stilianidis - Long Jump Frantsi Latifilari - Shot Put WOMENS Irini-Ria Mihala - 10000m Anastasia-Panagiota Marinakou - 1500m Despina Mourta - 400m Iliana Korosidou - Hammer Throw Stamatia Skarvelis - Hammer Throw and Shot Put Theodora Arabatzi - Javelin Throw Eleni-Klaoudia Polak - Pole Vault
  5. Sakkari was eliminated from Konta 6-4, 6-1. I think she is making good progress.
  6. She beat Pliskova! On to round three!
  7. Ioannis Kyriazis will be a heavy favorite to win gold at the Under 23 European Championship in Bydgoszcz, Poland. I'm not saying that because I am being cocky, it's because no one in that group has thrown better than 85 meters both season and personal bests.
  8. Better showing than the one in the French Open first round.
  9. I think this will be there second appearance at the World Championships. They also have an Olympic appearance too, host nation at the Athens 2004 games.
  10. Emmanouel Karalis and Lykourgos-Stefanos Tsakonas will be taking part in the Paris Diamond League this coming Saturday.
  11. I read she was doing other stuff other than running, like acting and writing.
  12. Let's keep this in mind, Greece need to produce more top athletes by training outside of Greece, especially in the United States.
  13. I know! They officially gave her 22.76, on the European Athletics website, it said 22.6-. We were hoping she broke the Greek national record.
  14. Greece will remain in the SUPER LEAGUE for the upcoming 2019. They beat Belarus by 8 points to avoid relegation. :-)
  15. In a stunning upset, Maria Belibasaki won the women's 200m!!! Bravo!!!
  16. Update standing after 21/40 1. Germany 166 2. Poland 150.50 3. Great Britain 144.50 4. France 134 5. Italy 132 6. Czech Republic 127 7. Spain 116 8. Ukraine 115 9. Greece 111.50 10. Belarus 95 11. Netherlands 90.50 At the moment, Greece will remain in the Super League if they finish above 10th place.
  17. On another surprising result, in women's discus throw Anagnostopoulou finished 3rd behind Robert-Michon and Muller for 9 points. Tsakonas finished 4th in the 100m finals, good effort from him. I would expect him to win the 200m.
  18. Both Stefanidi and Papachristou won their respective events to give Greece maximum 11 points (22 points total). Surprisingly, Kyriazis finished 2nd in men's javelin throw outdueling Olympic Champion Rohler to grab 10 points. I seriously think Kyriazis has serious potential to be one of the top javelin throwers in the world.
  19. Does points count in qualifying or just only in the finals?
  20. Oh my God! I never imagine the women's team are playing this good! In fact, better than the men's! lol
  21. That will be a big blow At least in the World Championship we get to see Usain Bolt one last time. : D
  22. Will he be able to compete in Paris for the Diamond League Meeting?
  23. I expect Greece to finish well above the bottom 3 to avoid relegation to the FIRST LEAGUE.
  24. In Patra, Tentoglou jumped to 3rd all-time (World Jr. record) in men's long jump at 8.30m.
