  1. In the Under 20 European Championship in Grosseto, Italy Miltiadis Tentoglou and Emmanouil Karalis are heavy favorites to medal for Greece. The rest? I wish them the best.
  2. Either way Panathinaikos will have to perform at their best if they want to advance past the 3rd round.
  3. Panionios should qualify for the 3rd round, afterwards it will get tougher.
  4. It's a tough draw, Ukrainian clubs have been giving fits to Greek clubs in recent years.
  5. That's a killer, at least AEK Athens should focus on qualifying for the Europa League.
  6. No ties are easy as we learn this lesson from last year.
  7. Paraskevi Papachristou finished 3rd in the Rabat Diamond League with a jump at 14.21 to earn 6 points.
  8. Polak finished 11th in women's pole vault. Korosidou finished 7th in women's hammer throw. Skarvelis finished 9th in women's shot put.
  9. Silver medal for Ioannis Kyriazis! I am still very happy consider the circumstance he was going through early in the competition. It is the very first medal for him at any level and their will be more to come.
  10. Facing elimination, Ioannis Kyriazis answered the bell with a huge throw at 79.91 to put him in silver medal position.
  11. Today, 4 Greek athletes competing in field event finals for a chance at the medals Ioannis Kyriazis given the greatest chance. Iliana Korosidis might have a shot if she throws way better than her personal best at 66.68m. Both Eleni Polak and Stamatia Skarvelis don't have much of a chance, but hopefully give us a good showing.
  12. Theodora Arabatzi qualifies with her personal best at 54.79m. She will be just two Greek athletes competing tomorrow with Zaharias Tsamoudakis in the 20k race walk.
  13. Kiriakos Zotos finished 10th in men's shot put Irini-Ria Mihala finished 13th place timed 35:04.60 which is her personal best. Usually, long-distance running is not a strength for Greece. She could have a positive future in other long-distance running events. Only 19 years old!
  14. In women's shot put Stamatia Skarvelis had better luck in qualifying for the finals with a throw of 15.79m.
  15. Iliana Korosidou automatically qualifies for the finals with a throw of 65.34m. No such luck for Stamatia Skarvelis to join her.
  16. Eleni-Klaoudia Polak just manage to grab the final spot for qualification by passing over 4.20 on her third try.
  17. He did with a throw at 78.43 (Q).
  18. So far today, Kiriakos Zotos qualifies for the finals in men's shot put. He will also compete in discus throw. In 30 minutes qualification of the men's javelin throw. I expect Ioannis Kyriazis to qualify.
  19. As far as Karalis goes, he will be in the Under 20 European Championship in Grosseto, Italy.
  20. Kenya is one of the worst countries to host a major track and field event (let alone youth level).
  21. Stefanidi won the London Diamond League with a mark of 4.81. No surprise there.
  22. There is the U.S. Open coming up in August, she never made it out of the first round just like the French Open.
  23. In the upcoming under 18 World Championship in Nairobi, Kenya, the website has not posted the enter list of athletes. I will assume that Emmanoual Karalis will take part in pole vault after he won bronze in Cali, Colombia 2 years ago in the same event.
  24. Final entry list for Greek athletes in the Under 23 European Championship in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
