No our esteemed major share holder and lover of brizoles Vagelis Marinakis says we're good for now in terms of metagrafes. Interesting to note that Aris has snared Nery Castillo. I wonder how that will go down when they play against them.

Final Score 2 - 3. Fantastic result from one of my 2nd favourite clubs. (Yes I am allowed to support them and PAOK and Asteras Tripoli as well if I want. It's not like cats and dogs making out!) Now they need to do better than Atletico in the last match. Aris is at home against Rosenborg while Atletico travel to Germany. Let's hope for a win to also maintain the 40 year plus unbeaten Euro run.

Eintracht need to get a better goal keeper. The karagiozi they have cost them 2 of the goals against Bayern. I know he is a Serbianised-Bulgarian, but the truth is he blows harder than Nikopolidis.

He should never have gone to Scotland. Epitelous some common sense has been shown.Hmm I am not sure he should go to Liverpool. I think the English press will be looking to string him up any opportunity they get. Just read some of the comments from Celtic and Liverpool supporters in the article. Personally I feel he should go to a mid to top club in Spain (Villareal, Valencia, At Madrid, Espanyol, Sevilla) for his own development and to the experience he will bring to the Ethniki.

Tzevellas got the assist for Caio's goal as well.

I saw the last 25 minutes of the match and from what I saw of Sokratis' performance, he wasn't great. He needs more playing time and it would be unfair to dismiss him after the 2 or so matches he has played this season. Napoli's Lavezzi made him look like a right fool at one point with a cheeky back heal near the touch line which went through Sok's legs, but in all fairness the backline of AC is ordinary. Nesta though not as bad as Fabio Cannavaro, is seriously overrated as a defender. His best days are behind him whereas Sok's is defintely in the future. Nesta was the main culprit for the Napoli goal. Sok got to the ball, but Nesta was the one who failed to clear it and allowed Lavezzi to chip the ball into the net. That being said he needs to gain some composure and ensure that whenever he is given his next chance he steps up as we all know he is so much better than his last match. -

It's official. Milan sign Greek international -
Great move from the kid. He is 19 years old and considering the position he plays is so important, he has the ability and position to seriously improve. We need decent attacking midfielders playing (and or developing) at the highest levels as we seem to import all our attacking options from OS and thus struggle to fill these roles in the NT. Not saying that Tachtsidis is NT material yet, but he has potential.
-
Just a rumour at this stage. However if it turns out to be true...he will be a fool not to go to Atletico.
-
It is not exactly hot of the press, as there is a little tournament happening in South Africa at the moment which has most people's attention, but the coach for 2010/11 going forward is Ewald Lienen the German who was at Panionios a few years back. Let's hope he can steer this ship back.
-
About time he got a run and scored. It was a great goal. Your people might be starved of drinking the finest scotches and have to make do with last years Siemens mobile phones and have to drive 2004 model BMW, but you give them a reason to keep fighting Mr Samari!

Highlights found here: Hannover-Hertha BSC It was a typical cool strikers finish from Fani. Let's hope he is consistent and even saves Hertha from relagation which should give him confidence leading up to the WC.
-
He's on fire! Omos na min ksexasoume oti paizei stin Skotia pou eine mia metria kai adunath liga. Hope he continues this form into the WC.
-
Is he the Shakhtar Donetsk player? I have heard good things....very quick.
-
He scored a cracking solo goal against Tottenham in the Wembley Tournament on the 26th of July. He took the ball from inside his own half and out sprinted the Tott defenders to crack the ball home for a slight angle. The finish was superb but at times his touch was not as confident, but great goal. Check it out...its on the goal4replay site. Things were a little more different last night however as Celtic lost 0-1 at home to Dynamo Moscow in the 3rd round UEFA CL first leg. Samaras was used as a 60 minute sub and had a great chance with about 5 mins of the match remaining but he headed straight at the keeper.
-
He has been playing regularly, however he didn't get a run in the 2nd leg semi versus Hamburg which Werder won. A bit dissapointing. Hopefully he hasn't been demoted by the manager. It would be great for him and for Greek football if he gets a shot at the UEFA Final. Would be a very big thing to win against Shakhtar.

Patience my son.Hair grows an average of about 10-12mm a month so until his mullet is fully formed so to speak, he won't be allowed to go in public.
-
Ever since he cut off the mullet, much like the mythical Samson (or Shimshon as our Jewish cousins call him) he has lost his influence. He needs to regrow the gouronotrixa and be the Gekas we all know and love and I'm sure he'll do great in the English Premiership. Portsmouth are in for a relegation fight so he needs to start scoring. Actually, I really admire him because he could have so easily taken the easy option which a lot of Greek players do and stay in Greece playing for a mediocre club earning decent money, but he took a chance and moved to Bochum and became Bundesliga top scorer. Who would have expected the Gekas of 5 years ago when he was playing at Kallithea would have had the career he has had. I hope he continues chasing his dream and I seriously hope he succeeds in the premiership and he goes on to score many more goals for the ethniki as well.

As mentioned, Rosenborg's Alexander Tettey is the transfer target for OSFP. I don't know much about him aside from being a Norwegian International originally from Ghana. I couldn't translate "
-
Happy 2009 to everyone. On the transfers, my opinion is that I'd be surprised if we get a big transfer this period.
-
Rumours of AC Milan's interest are getting stronger. Not sure if he does in fact go to Milan. Would be great to have him there rubbing shoulders with Kaka, Ronaldinho, Shevchenko, Pirlo, Pato, Inzaghi.

No I don't want a player who does not consider himself Greek and share the values of a Hellene. Call it political or whatever you like.I couldn't care how good he is. He is using the Greek passport for his own reasons and he would disrespect the shirt and the anthem that is played prior to every match he took the field. He may have not created the issue, but he is perpetuating the propaganda of FYROM and these apologists and there is politics in everything. Be it Otto not selecting Tavlaridis or whatever. I'm hardly a right wing patriot on issues involving who is Greek or ethnicity or NT matters. I wanted Nery Castillo to play for Greece. I have no problem with Panagiotis Kone or Muslims representing Greece, what I take exception with is this Australian raised guy misrepresenting the whole issue purely for individual gain to further his career. You clearly have no idea the extent that FYROM and their apologists have created in countries outside of Greece with their revising of history and anti-Greek agenda.
-
I agree with Euro2004's post. I live in Australia and the FYROM community has this intense anti-Greek agenda. They are pursuing this revision of history to suit their politcal goals and by playing ball with this kid, this whole fiasco has the potential to embarrass us. Let me guess, he has a Greek passport because a grandparent of his is Greek born and when they migrated to Australia they finally realised that their Slavophone background translates into them being "Macedonian" and they have a direct link to the Ancient Kingdom of Philip and Alexander? Pure and utter deluded propaganda!!! Nothing more than politics and false representation of history. It's an insult to the history of Greece to allow this kid to use the NT for his personal ambitions. This kid should never have been selected. From a pure football perspective, how good is he that he can walk into the squad? The lunatics and apathetic are running EPO.

Scored another goal in tonights match with Juventus. Unfortunately it was in his own net! Genoa lost 4 - 1 and Sokratis came on as a sub.
