  1. samaras just scored to make it 2-0 vs utrecht
  2. anyway, if the reports are true its a good signing for oly...maybe not as a starting solution but still a very talented player...
  3. i must have some sort of psychic ability
  4. hahahahaahah http://www.sentragoal.gr/article.asp?catid...&pubid=41678658 what did i just say!
  5. i put money on the fact that you guys pick up nemeth...watch it happen
  6. so derbyshire/diogo is getting replaced by someone who is not really a goalscorer or even a striker and..... "
  7. tziolis will spend the next year on loan at racing santander...a good move for him i believe..lets see how he does in spain... http://www.sportdog.gr/v3/article.aspx?id=142660
  8. i guess...it could all be disputed though :D :D we can probably both agree though that he isnt an ideal replacement for derbyshire :D
  9. yeah..his primary role is as a second striker and attacking midfielder...im not saying it bc of whatever the article says, im saying it bc i saw him play a handful of times last season...the article is obviously wrong if i were an oly fan i would be pretty dissapointed with this...if this is what valverde is shooting for its pretty mediocre in my opinion...the player is 28 and has a year (not even really) of top flight football... a striker does not play outside the striking zone, if that is the case he is considered a SS or AM. you could also claim him as a forward bc tecnically a CF and a striker are not the same positions...but that is determined 'technically' by small details... when did this game get so confusing :D
  10. http://www.sentragoal.gr/article.asp?catid...&pubid=41174657 fuster is not really an out and out striker so how is he suppose to replace derbyshire...he is more of an attacking midfielder, second striker...he is not an upgrade to what you already have, he certainly is not a better striker than derbyshire...
  11. http://www.goal.com/en/news/12/spain/2010/...from-real-betis i dont know if he was actually a target but...
  12. moises i have seen in action live alot...i used to live in barcelona and went to both espanyol and barca games.....he is a good players, a hard runner but not great technically...his tackling is his strong point but he is often very very reckless in his challenges as a result of poor positioning... personally i think the 3.5 million is alittle much for him...he is pretty good but nothing great...the reason why his price is higher than it should be is because he is loved by the fans for his long term commitment to the club...i think oly can get someone better, but valverde wants him, just like he wanted oscar he has never featured for the national team... sergio garcia is a good player, much more attacking minded and played in the segunda last year bc after betis got relegated, they wanted too much for him as they bought him for like 9 million...regardless, i always highly rated him as a player but it looks like he is all but sealed at espanyol...
  13. http://www.goal.com/en/news/15/germany/201...e-osnabrueck-in :gr: :gr:
  14. he'll never learn how to play for olympiakos if he never plays...
  15. yeah but he will not play...probably not even vs smaller teams...im sure we'll only see him in the kypello if even that...in my opinion oly should have skipped the useless signing of modesto....he will see time instea of papazoglou...
  16. as you should crazy, losing galletti was the biggest loss for the team...more so than djole (i mean hey, everyone knew he had to retire sometime soon, oly should have been better prepared for that one)...despite playing different positions/a different style game, the truth is neither ibagaza or rommedahl are the type of players that will take the team by the balls and win a game...neither player is as good or will be as important to the team as galletti was, i dont even think riera will be that player either...neither riera or rommedahl are as natural as goalscorers as galletti, not as quick and not as technical... also remember age wise galletti was at the peak of his career at 27-29..riera is there, but players like rommedahl and ibagaza are curving downward... as a pao fan i hated galletti, but as a football fan i loved him...he was a joy to watch and a REAL world class player...on your roster now, you dont have a player like galletti, and thats what u really need...i dont think riera will be that players for you...
  17. i am not afraid of your team...that is laugh-able, the bulk of the news coming out of greece just happends to be about oly bc of the situations surrounding the club, when our whole 'president' issues arose, no one could stop talking about us...so, i just like to comment on the news, and since we are "enemies" it makes it more fun for me :D that mixed with the fact that only the pao and oly forums here get posts and actual discussion is nice...i would like to get more aris, paok and aek fans here, but that is unfortunately not the case. but i am not afraid, and from an outside perspective, i think teams and fans are prob 10x more afraid of pao, then oly, i dont think that is debtable... i am glad you see thing (in your last post at least) more reasonably...BUT the bulk of oly fans are dillusional and think valverde is the saviour of the club....i can of course acknowledge that la liga is miles and miles above the SL, but the media makes valverde out to be mourinho, when in the grand scheme of football, is a slightly above avg coach... as far as your top players retiring and being injured etc etc...i dont buy that as an excuse, as a matter of fact that only shows how oly (and most other greek teams) think...short term...if they were interested in long term success, they would have planned for the next generation to your 30-something year old heroes (im not saying that sarcastically, djole, georgatos were great players) once again, by signing players like ibagaza and rommedahl, the club shows they are not thinking long term success... and i love you too my man :D :D
  18. its funny to me that everyone thinks valverde is the solution to your problems...oly will still have a very tough time this season...there is alot of work for the team to be done and its already almost time for the season to start...you guys want four new faces? the season starts in less than 20 days...take the blindfold off, its not just the coach thats your problem... for a oly entering a 'new era' it doesnt seem to me youve entered this 'era' on a good foot.... besides, i woudnt get too excited. vilareal had a very good side last year and with valverde they looked a wreck...had you kept him two years ago through this year, then the story would be completely ifferent ad youd prob have a much better team than you have now.. and crazy, it seems like being out of europe makes you proud  ...a truly great team competes in all competitions and still goes out full force for the title...how funny would it be if you were only going for the SL and we were playing for all three and we STILL won another double...to me, thats the test of a truly great club..if you dont think your squad can compete in all competitions, then i should never hear you argue that you think olympiakos have a great team...im glad oly didnt make the champions league bc it would have been embarrasing...
  19. vlakies akouw...its time for samaras to move to spain, his talent will be appreciated there...hes 25 and will still develop, a move to spain would be good for his career in my opinion, he needs to go where he will be wanted...he should be starting week in week out at celtic but every year he isnt wanted by their fans and doesnt get the full faith of the coach but every year he is one of the if not the top scorer at the club....
  20. good move for him....he was always a very gifted player in my opinion...still 23 and has time to progress..he played well at iraklis but did not thrive bc of instability at the club...he could be a good asset to the NT if he improves his game..we need a gifted playmaker...hes not ready but hopefully with some good guidance his talent will explode...
  21. of course we have fired coaches early before, and weve seen where it has taken us...NOWHERE...im not defending vardino, if you want to talk about pao, talk about how us changing coaches all the time was one of the reasons we didnt win jack, learn from that.. you cant talk about ten cate though because he was given 1.5 years, not 2 months..completely different scenario...talk about backe   .this is the second year in a row oly has fired a coach early on..zico was suppose to be the hero but he got the axe too.. yes, unstable...when you fire your coach before the season starts, your team is unstable..for me, to start the season right, you must have the same coach throughout preseason into the season..its common sense...its hard for the players to adapt to a new coach and a new style when they should be in the stage where they are ready to start the season, physically, tactically and psychologically, all of which oly now do not have...so yeah, you are both not ready, and now unstable... my pappou is like 95 and he is upset all the time.. :D :D speaking of pappou, what ever happend to 'elastopappou', i loved that guy!
  22. if his 'attitude' stays like that than you will see more coaches this year then you did last.... a president needs to be a fan yes, but he needs to be the president first, buisness is buinsess, being upper management means you have to keep a cool head and MOTIVATE, not just throw someone out bc of acouple bad results..if every president fired their employee after a bad results a company would collapse in a year... as for your comment on the "marinakis didnt even wat lienen" please look at the other topic for my response... dont go comparing pao with oly just bc you are upset that your team is already unstable....
  23. i mean for instance...you bought giannis papadopoulos from iraklis for around 800,000 euros, and now you signed ibagaza, you have maresca and dudu and looking to sign another centre midfielder...sure they all play slightly different roles, but where and when he is going to get a chance to play...he is 21 and with first team TOP football could turn into an absolutely fantastic player while in the process replace our ageing national team midfield..he doesnt have to start but play him for god sakes, instead you will have a 34 yr old ibagaza who probably wont be able to play a full 90 minutes... you replace the other papadopoulos with modesto... :( you have fetfatzidis and soiledis who for me are two of the most talented young players in the nation..incorporate them into the team...they are turning 20...they are good enough to start against lower to mid level super league teams...fetfatzidis especially... niklitsiotis played in dubai last year at that mini-tournament thing and he scored a bunch of goals and looked absolutely incredible...but instead oly are going to buy a player like pantelic or something... i know this is alittle exaggerated and not 100%relevant but look at barca specifically players like busquets and pedro...slowly guardiola incorportated them into the squad and low and behold they both made HUGE progress and were stars for the national team in the world cup...when busquets came into the barca team, the fans werent really that thrilled but look at what happend...he started in spains midfield that won the world cup... its just sad that all these players exist in our country but will probably only end up mediocre players bc they dont have a team or coach to support and build their talent professionally...instead of turning into the leaders and figureheads of our nation.... ok, im done...sorry :D
  24. usually a teams asking price is never the price that is in the final agreement... the reason why there arent any greeks on your side is not bc they are THAT expensive, maybe they are a bit overprices but im sure the teams can agree to this player for 500.000 (i could give you about 100 examples of this)..its bc the club prefers to fill the spots on the team with foreign player bc they think that will make the fans happy... instead of slowly integrating younger talent or talent from the youth team into the club, they go out and buy some mediocre foreign player, send the young guys on loan and they end up playing in low level or b ethniki teams their whole careers...ive seen so much potential WASTED bc a big club send a promising player to kallithea or ionikos (ktl) on loan and they never develop... im not just saying this for OLY, it just happends to be a good example this year...it isnt just oly, so im not attacking your club, please dont think i am, its most clubs throughout greece..we have this complex that overpaying for a foreign player is a better solution then integrating younger talent into the team that could potentially be the future of the club...(eg ninis, mitroglou) the only reason panathinaikos are giving young talent a chance is bc they have a greek coach how knows the young players around the country... the only reason aek is doing it is bc they have no money to buy 'big name' players... where would ninis be now if munoz never gave him a chance and integrating him..and mitroglou? they would be roting at some crap club... i hope oly buy both players...and PLAY them bc in 4, 5 years they have the potential to be the stars of our country on an INTL LEVEL...pay 700,000 for them now, get multiple millions some years down the line....the talent is there, our top team have to USE THEM... sorry for the long post, i just see so much great talent wasted and it annoys the hell out of me...instead we see players like holebas, bousaidi and other mediocre foreigners at our club...(and we both know, panathinaikos have had TONS of these)
  25. you dont need to drive to paiania anymore, the proastiako (which is the suburban train) runs through there as does the metro now too(the line that runs to the airport)... i lived in between vrilisia and halandri for a while as my family owns an apt out there and used to drive out there (before i had license :D ) to try and see some of the training sessions...i have fond memories of those drives
