  1. i agree euro..i watched all three matches and it was evident we were missing that key front man. bakasetas looked lost up there by himself. he appears to be the type of striker that needs a partner. he doesnt have much physical strength or aerial capabilities. in all there were impressive moments and players on the team and we could have some diamonds coming through the ranks. fortounis and mavrias particularly seems very very good for the age group and were the talk of all the announcers..
  2. we beat romania today 1-0. watched this one as well..fortounis picked up his game and single handedly ran the midfield. kapinos made acouple great saves, in particular at the end with a great double save from close range. mavrias was also very good and lively. the announcers couldnt stop talking about him although he did pick up a knock later in the match. kolovos and marinakis were two more stand out players for me..i know marinakis is at paos academies and kolovo i believe is at panionio. karelis came on as was poor. he may have missed the boat after his arsenal trial.
  3. after much speculation papastathopoulos has finally signed a one year loan with werder.
  4. we lost today in our first match of the uefa u-19 championship to ireland 2-1. katidis of aris scored our lone goal. i was lucky to watch the match we have some talented youngsters. we could not keep it together, or aerial game was poor but there was good ball movement. lagos, mavrias and katidis were impressive and stood out even though it is evident mavrias is still a rough talent..he has all the right attributes to become a classy player but can use better guidance. i wish lagos was at pre season with us bc i believe he is ready to make the next step. he looked one of the most mature players on the pitch. katidis seems like a nice little player. has alot of potential, fortounis was not great, he looked a bit tired.
  5. reports now suggest bayern munich are interested in picking him up....
  6. reports indicate schalke are ready to offer a good sum of money to brescia to take kone...lets see if it goes through.
  7. was loaned (i believe) the serie b side hellas verona. he will probably waste away in the lower italian divisions...thats what a poor attitude in a young promise will do to you. hopefully im wrong.
  8. http://www.goal.com/en/news/15/germany/201...-after-alleged- hopefully he doesnt pull a tachtsidis..
  9. if they were involved in fixed matches, then i dont want them to play in europe...another thing and the truth is, in all fairness (which is not always represented in law) if beos' money made from illegal gambling helped fuel signings, salary payments, ktl ktl, then for me they deserve to be out of europe as well.. on one end i feel for the players because they worked so hard throughout the season but on the other end, an organization includes EVERYONE, especially the people in charge of the club. if the president is corrupt and this corruption led to the benefit of his club, then his club should be punished as well..im not familiar with these types of laws in greece, so i cant say to the word of the law, what is punishable and what is not..
  10. kone is being seriously pursued by lazio and according to reports, will sign on soon. http://www.sentragoal.gr/article.asp?catid...pubid=128699504 a good move for him. lets see if he has what it takes to break into the starting squad
  11. apparently werder is very very keen on signing him and he has expressed his will to play for the club.
  12. great series...luckily i was able to watch every game... in saying this and in being so happy that we captured both the title and the euroleague, of course there is a sore spot and that is the way our fans reacted last night. all of the fans with the excpetion of some 100 were incredible, but these 100, that stormed the court, delayed the end of the game and sort of ruined what would have been a great celebration, are embarrassing. this needs to end, we dont need to have a black spot in an otherwise great event. it is unneccesary and stupid. other than that i am ecstatic...what a true champion team with champion players and a champion coach...they show such passion, composure and drive that is a model for any sporting team.... fotsis in particular was a big reason why we took it, hitting 6/6 three pointers and really shining. kalathes stepped up as well and did a great job in the absence of diamantidis. batist, as always, was a beast as well... CONGRATS PAO!!! YOU MAKE US PROUD!!
  13. we took the first game at SEF and are now in the fourth quarter at OAKA and are leading 70-62 in the last 5 minutes... obviously i want the league, but am happy with the euroleague...we are better than oly and it has showed these last two games...lets close it up now and finish the job next game...
  14. this is the team called up for the two next friendlies against bulgaria and poland...
  15. well in that case we just dont agree...italy is funny, a team can be great one year and bad the next..once the big teams swoop for napoli's stars, their play will drop as will their place. whether they can ride it out for another year is yet to be seen. he will have a good year at genoa, regain his reputation and probably get picked up by a better club and play as opposed to going to juventus/roma now and playing half their matches... it is a good move..you will see. either way, the deal apparently is not finalised as he has not agreed to the move...the top clubs like to try to shift players around like this..
  16. you see...you focus on little parts of my response without understanding the full meaning...why i say it is a good move is because he is going to be in the starting 11 and get playing time, not bc he is downgrading clubs... leaving a big club is never a good move, but leaving to regain form and play in the starting 11 again is...you are very quick to jump and be argumentative when in reality, we are saying the same thing....
  17. yeah, its a good move because he needs playing time week in week out...you just like to disagree dont you.. :nono:
  18. a day after these reports milan have all but confirmed his return back to genoa in a deal which also includes Boateng, Paloschi, Amelia, Oduamadi and Zigoni coming to milan on a full ownership, Berretta to genoa on a 50/50 ownership and sokratis on a full ownership to genoa... dont you just love these italian deals... ;) a good move for him as he will most likely return to the regular 11...
  19. i think you need to chill...does your family have a vendetta against the samaras' or something?? hahahah...you really seem to hate this guy... hes a good player, nothing more nothing less...using words like inept and useless ktl ktl are ridiculous...he is a professional that plays for a good club..if he was all of these things you say he would be playing second division mpala..he is rated by his manager and the club which is evidence of his new contract..if he was soo baad and sooo amateur as you say he is then how did he win a new contract? how does he play for a top level team? how does he play on his national side?...last season he was the thrid choice striker next to hooper and stokes who both had very good seasons..he started over half of their matches and came on a bunch as a substitute. not to mention celtic had what, 6 strikers? his return was poor yes, but his performances were not terrible considering he had a below par season...i remember a quote from his manager something like "when he is on his day he is unplayable" which to me shows he is inconsistant which is a mentality issue..which i already said, he suffers from poor and inconsistant fragile mentality and attitude...which somehow you seemed to dismiss..sometimes he does appear lazy yes, but lets not forget other players that were labeled as "lazy" were in actuality very good players..in addition, a players so called "laziness" is a very fixable thing unlike talent, which is undoubtable that he has... he is a solid striker that can be useful on the wing, he had more than 2 good performances last year...i think you need to give him alittle more credit...js isnt claiming samaras to be the best player in the world, but if i didnt know him as a player and i read your posts i would have thought he wasnt even good enough to be professional...which is obviously not the case considering he plays for a championship winning team and has contributed to winning those titles... his career celtic stats are about as follows---140 something appearances, 90 as a starter, 45 goals, not to mention a bunch of assists...1 premeier league title, 1 league cup and 1 scottish cup...those are not bad stats by any means... oh yeah..and message boards?? seriously?? what fans think and what the reality of the situation is are two very different things..they dont see the players train or play on a day to day basis so they only know a fraction of what the coach knows, and since he still wants samaras on the team, i dont really merit the fans' opinion too much...people are easily persuaded and always quick to bash and judge players ESPECIALLY in scotland and ESPECIALLY when it comes to foreign players... our knowledge of footballers capabilities are rather limited...look at a player like vyntra for instance, everyone bashed him an incredible amount but somehow every coach that came in had vyntra in the starting 11 consistantly...that is no coincidence..
  20. apparently milan are trying to work an exchange deal to secure hamsik from napoli and sokrati is said to be weight in this deal...this would be a good move for him in my opinion...napoli are among the better serie a clubs and he would definitly see good time there in addition to CL play next season..
  21. i agree...sure his play was below par this year and his return was bad, but for another season? last year he scored 10 and the year before 15, not to mention all of the assists that he gave...he helped win a cup, be happy for him, support the fact that a greek plays on a cup winning club and one with so much history...instead of constantly bashing him..sure we should pick out his faults, but constant bashing does no good... samaras gets alot of slack, its evident that one of the major attributes he lacks, which effects him greatly, is his fragile mentality...players like him need support... bravo to him and k. papadopoulos who were able to win silverware with their clubs unlike gekas, tzavellas and kone who were fixtures in clubs that got relegated..more so in the case of gekas, who was a major contributor to his clubs abysmal form...
  22. http://www.sentragoal.gr/article.asp?catid...pubid=128659309 BRAVO!!! good to see our youth really making strides...this givs us promise for the future.. :gr: :gr:
  23. despite speculation of moras retuning to greece it appears a move to parma fc is all but finished for him...a pretty good move in my opinion.
  24. apparently the deal for a one year loan to duisburg is all but closed...
