That is the way how Camp Nou of Barça is built/constructed. Would be nice if we could find a way to have the magic nummer of 1,926 fit in the plans. 31,926 ain't bad either as most games aren't sold out. Only for the games that would attract 100K (fiesta, QF ECL etc) we would need that 41,926. Don't like empty stadiums. We've seen it this year with max 8K in old Toumba. Looks bad.

It was mentioned today during the presentation that the minimum capacity will be 35,000. The final capacity will be determined during the design stage. The two companies designing the project are the Greek based Salfo. Salfo will be responsible for the master plan, which includes the stadium surrounding areas and US based Popoulos, which will be responsible for the stadium only.

ERT has the TV rights to the Mediterranean Games. Not sure how we compare to Italy or Portugal, but our U21 team could not compete with Portugal in our recent qualifying games. Greek football team has never been too successful in the Mediterranean Games which started in 1951. We only won the competition once in 1991 and the reason was probably because the games were held in Athens. The final was Greece - Turkey 3:1. In 1997 we finished 3rd by beating Spain 1:0. In 1987 Turkey beat us 1:0 in the bronze medal game. In 1979 we lost the bronze medal to Algeria (1:2). All other times we either failed to qualify from the group stage, or did not take part (1955, 1959, 1963, 1967).

The owner of the site accomplished his goal, which was a creation of an Olympiakos Academy here in Chicago with backing from PAE Olympiakos. Once that was accomplished he has lost interest in running Greeksoccer.com. He tried to sell the domain, but apparently nobody showed any interest. Of interest is the fact that Greeksoccer.com in the beginning was hosted here at Phantis.com
