  1. Unlike most of us whom still think we have hidden stars like Cristiano Ronaldo playing in the Greek Super League, Skibbe has worked out Greece's limitations, it's strengths, weaknesses & best way to qualify for Russia 2018. He knows that other than Fortounis & Mitroglou our attacking options & very limited. Greek fans make some of these other players seem much better than what they are in reality. Other than Fortounis & maybe Mitroglou on the bench no other current "ATTACKING" Greek player would make Belgium's or Bosnia & Herzegovina's squads if they were from that country. Greece strengthens is when the team plays with hardworking, discipline players, where there is passion, spirit & the team looks very solid & organized in defense due to a team unity. Now as much as I loved watching Holebas play for Greece, maybe he didn't fit that criteria & that was one of Skibbe's unpopular decisions along with having faith in players like Maniatis, Tzavellas etc whom had hardly any game time at club level. Greece will not dominate possession, will not play attractive football, will not score many goal with the what is available but can still qualify. Hopefully in the near future Greece can produce the next group of superstar attacking players but in reality in 2017 people outside of Greece probably would even know much about any current Greek footballer.

  2. The way Pereyra has been treated by the club is a travesty. He must be watching Klaus and Koulouris week after week thinking he lives in bizarro world that they're getting so much game time. I'm not saying he should be starting all the time but he definitely deserves more minutes that he's gotten.

  9. You say it's wishful thinking. I agree, of the highest order. Note that I'm not a Trump supporter, but was never keen on Hillary either. The metaphor I used for those two often was of a baboon vs a witch. Evidence Trump will change his spots ? None whatsoever. All I'm saying is if he doesn't deliver, he'll be out at the next election. If he does deliver (how can this even be achieved today given the way the world works economically ?) then he's a chance at a second term, crazy as that sounds. His rabid base is not enough to get him over the line. He also needed swing voters and he got them this time because they didn't believe the witch anymore. Realistically ? He's winging it and has no real plan. He's aggressive, vindictive and will probably go down as the worst president in decades. BUT, Trump has proven all his doubters wrong (regardless of that fact that his tactics are considered "distasteful" which is ironic considering this is politics after all) so lets just wait and see. It's already gotten farcical with Trump acting like a child over the attendance numbers at the inauguration. Good lord ...

  10. of course it is, but that doesnt make him inelidgible, remember how much we were praising him at the gibraltar/cyprus/netherlands games? you cant tell me he got poor in 4 months. Its always time to look at replacements, no player is top form 24/7.
