Guys they need a no bullshit hard nose coach that's not going to take bull s%$#! from the players or the EPO, a guy thats going to preach dicipline, respect, and team work. no prima donna sensitive bitches on this team. we need a coach that would kick the s%$#! out of his players if they pulled a stunt like they did at the world cup where 2 of our players fought. i dont want a nice soft spoken players coach because our c*** players will take advantage of him. even when the Santos era was coming to a close santos himself said the players were selfish. we need a real coach that does things his way and only his way. im very interested to see who the EPO decides to bring in since they promised they would have a coach by october.2 points

I honestly don't think we have ever had a bad Scandinavian player, they are pros they work hard and always give you an honest 90 minutes.i was talking about this very subject with my neighbour the other day,how these Scandinavian players always perform, you get the odd one that doesn't but its not because of a bad attitude or lack of trying,i will go back as far as claus Nielsen who played for us early 90s I think ,he scored goals and I though was harshly delt with. but the Argentinian brings something to the table that other nationalities cant, flair ,creativeness the unexpected, this has to do with there up bringing and the way they approach the game. and we have rocha a life long panathinaikara with knowledge and contacts in that country but for some reason we just wont let him work.2 points

Rocha should be revered as a guru at PAO . The wise old head who has breathed this team since late 1978 when he first appeared at Leoforos and wear the Green shirt. There has never been a more loyal and dedicated foreign Green personality since then ( Warzycha I guess as well ) Even he would have a tough time managing and coaching some of the useless garbage that has paraded around this team last 5 years. As for Anastasiou's Ajax total football coaching ideologies and credentials. Yeah that's great in theory. In practice however that stuff is for kafeneio talk. Not with this talent quality.2 points

Nobody wants mass migration into their country as most countries do not have the resources to help them. From a cultural perspective, it changes a dynamic/composition of what that nation's culture is especially when assimilation does not occur. Having said that, Syria took many Greek refugees when they were fleeing Turkey (I guess history is cyclical). I am not saying we should accept every migrant, what I am saying is that we should be hospitable and helpful as much as we can. That doesn't mean granting everyone asylum. What that means is treating them like humans. If there is a boat that capsizes, we rescue them. If there are starving on our streets, we feed them (as much as we can). If we are truly proud of our culture, than we know we have an obligation (first as Christians than as Greeks) to help those who are of need. As a parent, I can't imagine anyone can looking at that image of that toddler on the beach and not feeling disgusted with what is going on. While the parents may have been at fault, that doesn't change that a child lost his life before he even understood what life was.1 point

The big winner could be Golden Dawn. It will be interesting to see how their vote is affected, given the Syrian refugee crisis.1 point

My God was he on superhuman form! He made everyone better on the field! Even the alcoholic/party animal Quincy!!! No doubt we would of taken the title that year had he not sustained that knee injury...1 point

this is the ability of these Argentinian players, when you get a good one ,they can destroy opposition teams like nobody else, and the crowd worships them and the opposition fear them. look at AEK when they bought in scocco ,and they found blanco in the Argentinian 2nd division he came her and was top scorer. when was the last time you saw the whole of oaka chanting a players name that ended in ic1 point

if rocha was the TD we wouldn't have a lot of this useless rubbish we have now. here we have a guy with connections in argentina and other south American countries, who can get us players at the source before they hit it big and we appoint vokolos or dabizas, how many games did dabizas play for PAO ?1 point

with rocha in charge for the time anastsiou has had,our roster would of looked a lot different., instead of andoniou if rocha was the technical director we wouldn't of wasted all that money on mellisiis and souza etc etc etc. they trust every tom dick and harry to be the TD but never rocha. the team rocha coached had a Argentinian called Borelli. but it is against some unwritten law at pao that we will not buy Argentinians and we will not listen to rocha.1 point

That team that Rocha coached in the mid 90s had such stability and cohesiveness with mostly Greek players loaded with pride and passion and accompanied by only a few real quality game changing foreigners on it. The landscape of a Greek football has changed so much in The last 5 to 6 years that now every club including Olympiakos changes squads on the fly like a revolving door every Summer . Now we have foreign useless nobodies or ex has beens who join all the top teams that are out of contract and come to the SL already knowing that their tenure there will be short lived regardless of performances. No coach could do much under those type of circumstances. Anastasiou has lived a charmed life being kept as PAO coach for this long. That's unprecedented territory on Greece. OLY changed their coaches every six months it appears. Rocha with this same team right now ? Good question. I'd say yes just for the fact that these players now might need to hear a different voice and perspective on how to to do things in games. Sound fresh ideas are for sure necessary on this team today.1 point

You can't eiminate Qabala and you have aspirations of winning the title? Who are we kidding? This team has limited ability to accomplish such thing! We no longer have the stars of the past who won the last title! Gone are the likes of Cisse Katsouranis Leto Gilbero Silva Karagounis! Now you rely on some trianatafillopoulo, bourbo or marinaki to deliver you a title! Are you guys nuts? We are a decade away of winning a title! STOP DAYDREAMING AND COME DOWN TO EARTH!1 point

Has it occurred to anyone that those who are really responsible for this mess (see video) should be the ones to clean it up? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuvV8-82LPQ1 point

**************** DELETED ... If someone from outside of this forum came across this thread, they'd be horrified at the things you write. Maybe you don't care, but you should. You should think a bit more before you post the things you do. This is a serious topic/issue. I don't claim to be an expert in any of this, but I try to keep the conversation moving, asking questions, stating opinions etc. You just post (what seems to me) hate filled cliches. Now I'm not advocating at all, that Greece should allow a massive influx of refugees. We don't really have the resources, and besides this isn't Greece's burden alone. Greece should merely try to do its fair share, to the best of its ability. The truth is, if Greece hadn't let the refugees cross the border to Skopje, the EU couldn't give two hoots about what is happening. Now that it is directly affecting multiple countries, maybe something could happen, but I don't remain optimistic. The ideal solution ? Peace in Syria, so they can return to their homes, but I don't see this happening. As for your claim of let them drown, let me pose a hypothetical. You are in a boat, and that little kid is drowning beside the boat. All you have to do is put your hand out and pluck him out of the water, or you can just watch him drown. They are the two choices. What do you do ? If you say, I let him drown, well, that is nothing more than pure evil. If you say, I'll stop him from drowning, well now you've just nullified and contradicted your earlier post. It's time to grow up and think before you post.1 point

I have to agree with you athinaios. To be fair, I don't think Tsipras or anyone else predicted how nasty the EU/ECB reaction would be. When the ECB cut off funding for Greek banks, well, that is a day to remember. The nastiness with which the new terms were forced on Greece has also been a revelation. If anything positive has come out of this, it's the fact that the EU doesn't look like the good guy anymore. They got nasty, and there was no way they could make themselves look like the good guys, no matter how hard they tried. The Euro is still around for the moment, but what the EU/ECB did to Greece only helped create more opposition against the Euro "project". Everybody now knows who really runs the show. Everybody now knows the EU isn't for the benefit of all. Everybody now knows that it is not a democratic institution. Opposition against the Euro/EU/ECB is growing albeit slowly. I don't see this trend reversing. And all of the above has in it's own way, been constructive. Would a Samaras government have done the same ?1 point
