savas
it was the greatest sporting moment in greek history at the time. i was living in athens at the time and it was great. On tv, you had the choice of two channels back then ERT 1 and ERT 2 ..... and yes you guessed it, they BOTH were showing the basketball!!!!! i still have the semi final and final game on vhs tapes. i remember that the commentator after the final saying "i cant speak anymore, i will leave you with vision only", he had given it his all. Nick99
Must have been phenomenal. Unfortunately back then they didn't broadcast those tournaments overseas, so I missed the whole thing. But I remember the celebrations. Did you guys see Galis' numbers, especially for the final! 40 pts, 15-23(!) 2-pt field goal percentage. The guy was a god! How about all the names on the Yugo team: Petrovic, Kukoc, Paspalje, Divac, Djordjevic, Radja...unbelievable talent. Same for the USSR. AND WE BEAT THEM BOTH!
