The only good thing about this game were the 65K fans in the stands, and the lesbian action in the stands as shown on TV. Other than that a pretty boring affair.

pretty boring?? i dont think ive ever seen such a lame derby...but the 65K is definitly very very nice...

Rivaldo provides explanations

As a person who is following Rivaldo for a long time, that was what i expected

SOmetimes he wants to defy the laws of physics, and to do more than he physicaly can, he does not like to be subbed (who does) especially after he misses a chance in a stupid way as he did yesterday

He always tryes to ammend, most of the times successfully, I remember once in Barcelona, he missed a penalty (first in the season, he scored many) in a crucial knok out CL match against Chelsea

85,000 peaple in the Camp now kept silent, in shock. After some time there was another penalty. Rivaldo approached the ball, more decisive than ever

Another player asked him "if you fill tensed. I will do it" He answered: I always take my own responsability

He scored the goal, Barsa passed to the semi final, and the rest is history

There are more similar stories

And he really allways retires to the locker rooms when he is being subbed

His declaration "in calente" (in the heat of the moment), was very clear to me, knowing him for so long, he is no diplomat, that is obvious. He says what he beleive at, and sometime later when he is concient that he maybe offended somebody (Which is not his aim, he is not malicious, only against Van Gaal) je give explanations

Here it is

Today, Rivaldo clarified the statement he made yesterday, a little after the end of the match. Olympiakos’ Brazilian ace said that if the team continues to play like that, it won’t even finish in fifth place. In today’s statements though, in the team’s official website, he noted that he meant that the team has to try and win, even if the people are not there to support it. More specifically, Rivaldo said, "In my statements following the end of yesterday’s match, I gave my opinion about the game and specifically that it was our worse game so far and that if we do not collectively try to play well, in the end we will finish in fifth place. I also said that it is not enough to win only if we have the support of the crowd, but also without them, especially in the away games. I want to play in the derbies and throughout the ninety minutes. The fact that I went straight to the change rooms after being substituted is something that I always do. These are my views. I did not want to offend my coach or any other team-mates."

As to the issue itself, I think he is right, the fatigue from the match against Monaco was no more than an excuse. There must be more adrenalin in the weins of the players even in an hostile stadium in order to be a champion

They had it in the second half against Monaco in France

Look at the odious Greens. They did ot feel the fatigue, and not because they have a day more to rest ( I hate to say it, I really do)

By the way, I want to ask the gavroi a question...

I have the feeling that Bajevic has set up and prepared your team for a European run. The reason i say this is because you have signed up 2 players (Nikopolidhs, Shurrer) that have improved your defence to the point that apart from the 1st half in Monaco you really haven't been threatend whilst on the other hand you are showing "PAO-like symptons" in the Greek league struggling to beat opposition, which in the past you'd blow 3-4 goals past. I ultimately think that you game is based on defence this year, looking to hit on the counter follwing PAO's (of previous years) and Greece's tactics. I also think that you have a problem from the moment you don't have an out -and- out striker. Neither Okkas, Castillo or Gio and centre-forwards.

U have a point there E and i think its good for the reds to do this as it will restore some respect towards the reds in Europe thus giving Greek Soccer more popularity within Europe

If i was a red fan i'd rather see wins in CL than see 7 trophies from the Greek league any day!

EVERGREEN,I agree practically with every word of your post, except the signature of course

I have already written that what Oly needs is a killer 9 which means a lethal striker, who make chances our of nothing and not vice versa

I would have hired a specialist like they do in the NBA for mental preparation, bacause I really believe that the terrible missing of all our great offensive players is from the head, not from the leg, In the NBA they helped this way some players that in spite of the talent they could not score from the line, so they were taught some creative imagination . i.e. closing their eyes and imagining the ball enter. You may laugh but it works, after some session they all improved. SO they can overcome the catch 22 they maybe are in (especially Okkas and Rivaldo) After so meny misses they expect not to score every time they shoot ...Even I have heard that Rivaldo, very labouros man, practise free kicks every day after training, somebody has to tell him maybe to work some visualization first

I think that the deffensive tactik was the thing that infuriated Rivaldo

Great deffense is OK and necessary of course, but we must have the weapons for counter attacks and breaking bunkers of the opponent, if not....It will be sufficient for some draws away, but then Oly sill remain a grey , boring team

Is that what you want or more games like the Paok game, but against better teams

We will see what Bajevic has in mind in the winter transfer window

And please do me a favor

I know you are in your right to write in Greek

but can you be so kind to use Greek alfabet so I cab translate it in the Altavista

because if you right in Greek with latin characters I can not translate it

I like to understand  what my forum mates has to say

I disagree: Don't forget that Olympiakos have played some fantastic and very exciting football with this so-called "defensive" approach...

In the games against Liverpool , Monaco away (2nd half), and Monaco home (it seemed there was a plan to hit after the hour mark), we all saw great stuff from the Red-and-Whites... No counter attacks but constant attack, with no slow-motion football like Panathinaikos and Greece like to play... And I think we can still improve on that...

I think we just have to realise that the team's priority just now is to go through the next stage of the Champions League. That's why there's so much tension around... It's obvious that everyone's thinking of Europe, after so many unsuccesful years... Once we get Europe sorted (and I mean qualification to the next round), the players will relax, will have nothing to prove and the team will be finding it easier in the domestic games as well...

Well Dragonfly, maybe you are right, I really hope so, but the lost points are lost for ever, and the Greens are advancing

Maybe i just want too much, maybe I got my hopes too high after the Paok and Monaco games, but I do not agree to the opinion which say that a draw away is a good result, it is not if you want to win the championship

And when I said "counterattacks" I thought at least counterattacks, pf course it is better to attack constantly

I mentioned the second half of the game in France as the optimal way to play, attack all the time, But some ballance must be, you can not neglect the deffense, I did not say so.

I liked those games, but what I did not like was the conformity with the away draws

Oly can not take the CL trofy (I wish you prove me wrong), but can take the Greek Chanpionship. It may also happen that Oly finish 3rd anf have the UEFA cup competition, so, do you advice to neglect the Greek Championship completely??

Maybe the team is not built to perform maximally in 3 competitions (including the national Cup) but some of us fans still want it, it is the nature of fans and of some players :(

I think that we agree mainly, let us hope for the best, and to some killer scorer comimg in January

Of course drawing a game against a Greek opponent (any) is not a success for a team like Olympiakos. However, bear in mind that the lost points so far, have come against opposition from the Top-5 of the table. I mean, we havent been humiliated by some minor team that has just been promoted from the 2nd division, like Vazelos 3 weeks ago... ;)

Although I don't think that Xanthi will play with the same determination against Panathinaikos , as they did against us, I still think we're within our targets and with 3 quite difficult places (Halkidona and AEK the other two) behind us. After all, even the Great Arsenal team of the 2003-04 season...did draw 13 of their 38 games during that unbeaten campaign...

So let's be a little be more patient and everything will fall into place as the season progresses...

Monaco and Liverpool wouldn't have scored even if they had NO opoosition at all.... We are talking of the biggest 'Koulamara' in the history of the Champions League.... (Exclude last years Galatasaray and Leverkusen 2 years ago which they clearly hold the 'koulamara' trophy!!!) :P

But thats exactly how we would like you gays to think!!! We want you to play with oppositions such as the crappy Liverpool the biggest 'Pelath' of the Balcans and the destroyed Monaco, so that you think you have a good team.. And when the 5th of December comes................. :box: we will have a laugh!!!!

So try to appoint another Efthimiadis or terrorise the place as you did in Rizoupoli otherwise I seea thrashing coming up!!!!! :box:

Ok here it is....

'mighty Rosenborg' 5 - Small-Greek-club-that-no-one-in-Europe-has-ever-heard-of 0

Liverpool and Monaco in the champions league are exactly the type of teams that you underestimate because they don't come back for 5 years.

I really like Oly to go through to the last 16 and play against Arsenal :P I would LOVE to watch it and laugh at you guys. I wonder what you will say then when inevitably you will lose big time

It was actually 5-1. And Rozeborg of those days has no relation with Rozeborg of these days...

5-0 seems to be your favourite score... (Man Utd - Panathinaikos 5-0 HT... shame that United switched off in the second half, God knows what would have happened if they didn't... :( )
