Olympic nightmare for Athens

According to The Accociated Press, Jaques Rogue told Athens to "not worry about the frills" , in which he means the details. It says that the glass roof is not complete for the swimming pool, the trail for running is not paved fully yet, and the stadium for the roof is not completed as well. Has anyone seen progress down in Athens? Did Athens procrastinate that long to not have some things complete yet? :o Or are the Associated Press just over-exaggerating? Please respond.

Would you believe they also pulled this stuff on us in 1896? Back then they threatened to hold the games in Budapest if we weren't ready.

History wrote that we were on time in 1896 and when the Olympics nearly died out after the 1904 fiasco of St. Louis, the IOC begged Athens to hold a special Olympiad within 2 years (!) to revive interest.

History wrote that the 1906 Olympic games were a success and the Olympics did NOT die out! :)
