2017 - 2018 Season

The new season begins Saturday August 19th. But as we are speaking of the Greek SL it might be postponed somehowe.

When's the last time it started this early? Feels like usually we don't see games until the last few days of August (ignoring the delay we had last season)

This current season was scheduled to start August 20, but eventually started with Round 3 sometimes in September. Expect something similar with the new season.

The season started last years always around the 20th. Every time I was on holiday in Greece I was able to watch one or two games (In Toumba or TV).

The SL draw is scheduled for July 13 even though as of today we don't know which teams will be taking part yet.

The Superleague has announced that 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 season will have as official sponsors Souroti and Macedonia Palace, two companies owned by Ivan Savvidis.

During a general Superleague meeting today they failed to agree with proposed changes. As a result there is no TV contract in place with NOVA. Also the start of the season is in doubt, since it has not been decided how many teams will be relegated and if playoffs will be played.

Basically, the start of the season is up in the air.
