ERT Spor +

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

As someone who follows media in Greece closely, here's the deal with the ERT digital channels:

Right now, 2.5 years after their introduction, the ERT Digital channels are still only being broadcast in Athens (48 UHF), Thessaloniki (26 and 56 UHF) and Thessalia (53 and I think 42 UHF). They will eventually cover the entire country, but ERT, of course, is notoriously slow in doing anything and as such we haven't seen the coverage expand nationwide yet.

It is being said in Greece that by November, the rest of the ERT channels (ET-1, NET, ET-3) and the major private channels will begin to go digital. Initially they will likely broadcast both digital and analog signals, but by 2015, the country is expected to fully switch over to digital.

One only needs a set-top box, like the ones posted above, and a regular TV antenna to receive the signals. If you have a newer TV with digital capability built in, you won't even need the set-top box.
