Big win! Greece started of slow first 10mins but then we completely dominated Finland. Nice quick passing and great goals and hold up play from Ioannidis who is a star. We really turned it up in the second half and could have hit in a few more goals. Team has lots of talent throughout the lineup along with great talented young players. If Jovanovich can find a way to work Fortounis in the lineup we will be really difficult to beat. Mantalos, Bouchalakis and Pelkas can’t be in starting lineup.

Great points. Bakasetas should be utilized as a sub going forward. I admire his dedication to the NT but he isn’t in good form. He had a very good Euro qualifying campaign with some nice goals and good link up play but his performance in the match with Georgia was very disappointing. He made way too many errors and sloppy passes and he did not even break a sweat. Also he missed his penalty which is a rarity. Mantalos should not be getting anymore call ups. With all these talented young mids we have the future looks bright especially given the plethora of strikers we know have. Greece went years without having an option at the #9 when Mitroglou left. I am really looking forward to see how we play under Ivanovich. He has even opened the door for Fortounis to come back in the October window.

Zaferis is a huge addition to bolster our midfield! Hopefully Karetsas joins Greece too instead of Belgium and our attacking options will look very promising.

It doesn’t say exact date anywhere I looked but usually it’s in first week of December (7th or 8th) and after Nations league has concluded. It will be really tough to qualify for sure even with the extra spots. Greece needs to win these NL matches we are now 54th in the rankings. I hope we can get off to a good start by beating Finland & Ireland and hopefully we get a result vs England. I think we are good for 2nd place in this group and if England qualify directly for wcup then I believe Greece would take their NL playoff spot. I am hoping we get a nice draw unlike the last Euro draw which was the toughest group possible.

Jovanovich is a way better manager than Poyet. The job he did with PAO was remarkable. If only EPO got rid of Poyet before playoffs when he was talking about the Ireland job, his assistant allegedly not being paid and other stupidities instead of focusing on us qualifying. Had they appointed Jovanovich we would have qualified! When the group stage draw was announced I said if Greece made it we would get out of that group as the Turks & Czechs were definitely beatable and having Portugal in the last match day would be a huge advantage as they would most certainly be qualified and rest their best players. Well Georgia beat 🇵🇹 yesterday who sat Fernandes, Silva, Leao and others. I am pissed Poyet fd us up and pissed at a few of our key players who played terribly vs Georgia and now they are playing in the round of 16! What a kick in the nuts!!

He is a good manager much better than JVS & Poyet. If only we had him at the helm for Euro qualification I believe he would have got us in. Now World Cup qualification will be a tall task. Good luck to him.

Tzolis was fantastic especially vs Germany he was all over the pitch. Should have scored but Neur made a great save. If the moron Poyet played him vs Georgia we would be at the Euros.
