So its confirmed? My God how could Greece be lumped in with the likes of San Marino, Malta, etc. What a friging huge disaster this has turned into since the 2016 Euro qualifying. Dam the EPO for not replacing Santos with a suitable coach and bringing the likes of Ranieri and Skibbe!! Im so pissed, gamoto!!!

Jimmy, if that's the case we will be in a very tough situation. As a pot 3 team we were trying to avoid a difficult Pot 2 team for example Switzerland or Italy. Now if we are in pot 4 we would have to avoid a good pot 3 team as well for example say Serbia who have played well over the last few years and qualified for the World Cup.

That's right La Mendel Skibbe totally messed everything up in that Finland game. A game where I believe Greece should have at least been able to pick up a draw and would have stayed close to Finland for top spot. The EPO should have fired him before the start of this tournament!

Turkey have fallen of the map, they wont qualify for any tournament for along while. That's why they have been pushing so hard to host the Euro with multiple bids failing.

If we are in Pot 4 I will be extremely nervous for the draw.

In the Agonasports article it says we need to just secure 2nd place in the group to stay as a pot 3 team?

I hope I am wrong but Greece may never produce superstar offensive talents the likes of Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, Mbappe, etc. Greece due produce excellent defenders the likes of Manolas and Sokratis and Dellas back in the day. We had a great system in 2004 and we took down offensive titans like Portugal with Ronaldo, Figo, Deco, Pauleta, France with Zidane & Henry, Chzech Republic with Nedved, Koller, Baros etc. We need to play to our strength which is a strong focus first on defensive football and playing the best possible 11 at our disposal and also to stop playing players out of position. Greece certainly have a good pool of talent to draw from so that should not be an issue.

Mantalos has been disappointing especially recently. Bakasetas just doesn’t belong on the NT there are other players that replace him. I agree if Anastasiadis was at the helm at the start of the nations league Greece would have topped the group. I’m eager to see who we draw for Euro qualifiers and hope we get off to a good start.

When we won at Cyprus 2-1 in 2018 World Cup qualifying and before that I believe when Greece beat Cyprus 2-0 in Athens.

Good points J1078 playing Bakasetas was the coach's only mistake but he came on for like 9 minutes. It's good that he started of with a win and a clean sheet, hopefully that can build some positive momentum for the Euro campaign. Going forward he shouldn't bother calling up mantalos he has been disappointing for the NT recently and going back to the last campaign were he missed a sitter to give us a win at Bosnia. My patience with Pelkas is wearing thin but if he goes with him I'm fine with it as long as he starts putting in better performances. I'm happy we don't have to see Tziolis & Tzavellas on the field anymore.

Koutris overall had a good game, just missed a few times to get a cross into the box.

Overall it was good to get a win. We dominated the possession but in the last 3rd the team is not crisp enough. Good to get a clean sheet again as well, zero shots on goal for Finland. Siovas was steady coming in for Manolas. Torosidis played well beautiful crosses into the box on many occasions, the guy plays with such passion. Zeca was winning so many 50/50 balls and his work rate is incredible game in and game out Mantalos and Pelkas most disappointing players overall. We need more from Fortounis he can be a game changer with his offensive skills but some matches he disappears.

Finland were garbage no shots on target and Touminen missed a couple great chances. Greece should have won this group but Skibbe screwed us up with the game in Finland.

We held the ball rather well and moved it around better overall than what we were seeing under Skibbe. Mantalos had a wild off balance shot at the top of the box and his overall control and passing has been piss poor. Losing Manolas is a blow hopefully he will be fine.
