Sparta are the smallest by name, but made the quarter finals of the Europa league knocking out Lazio along the way. There will be no easy beats, Sparta is obviously the one we want but it still won't be easy by any means.

that's always the risk with interim managers, you dont know how much is there good work and how much is just the players getting a breath of fresh air and performing better. Very different kettle of fish when you are in charge from the start of the season and have to get through the pre-season, completely get across tactics and philosophy. As in interim you come in and do the best you can.
With that being said credit to Ivic for doing what he's done in the play-offs and hopefully he continues this form into the PAO game and secures us a birth in the UCL -
It's tough one for him. Both Clubs are at a similar level prestige wise. No doubt over the last few years Athletico have been more successful, 2 UCL finals in 3 years, a league title, they went close again this year.
With Hummels moving on, it may be a chance for him to assert himself and become not only a leader at the back for BVB but also a leader of the club. He can really establish himself as a true Dortmund man and if he does stay my bet is he leaves a legacy at Dortmund where he is regarded as a legend. Depends which of those 2 appeal to him more as a footballer -

If we keep our foot on the pedal at 70% we will score at least 2 more. Everytime we get deep into their half we create a chance. Just need to stay focused and not get too relaxed

Really looking like a training drill. no fans, our players just knocking it around Panionios look less than disintrested. hope we take full advantage and pop a few more past them.

If we do make the Champions league qualifiers, we would be heavy underdogs and would need a lot of luck to go our away. In saying that as others have metioned with a few signings there is no reason we can't trouble those sides on the break and give them some issues. But we are still 3 games away from this being an issue and our midfield is depleted as it stands. Lets get through Thursday first and take these games one at a time before we start dreaming about the UCL

^Probably will be the line up. Vitor could take Malezas spot. The only change I would make is starting Rodrigues (havent heard of him having any problems since asking for the sub vs PAO?) and playing Mysta in his actual position as the dekari. We are still to see him have an extended run in the team in his natural position

That's fine Mak can be sick all he wants, doesn't mean the club will release him to go join his NT till after the play-offs. I'm not as cynical as Blackhawk, my bet is he is back and playing vs Panionios

Not many players I really hate, but he is one of them.
Important win none the less, and we now can attack the rest of play-offs on an even playing ground. Big game on Sunday -
Might have to make my way down to the hotel or a training session when the boys are in Melbourne and meet some PAOK players for the first time in my life!!

He did look very good, all of our attacks in the first half came down the right hand side and through him. Hopefully he stays fit and can give us a much needed attacking boost in the play-offs

Really?? I don't think it was given as a 0-3? If its past the 60th minute or something then any result stands in terms of an abandonded game. I don't recall hearing about EPO awarding it as a 3-0 to olympiako, our punishment was the points deduction and fine. I could be wrong though

So even if they take the 5 points from us, the only way we miss the playoffs is if there is a crazy 3 way tie between us, Pas, and Atromitos. If our appeal is successful and they give us even one point back then we are safe in the playoffs.

Agree with most of your post pash.
I'll dare to disagree with you on a few points.
We 110% need a goalkeeper. Glyko, I feel is better than Vellidi (another inadequate panic buy) but for every great game Glyko has (Dortmund) there are times where he will cost you needless goals. If a ball comes from a corner near him, watch out. Near post he leaks a lot of goals too, more so then any GOOD keeper should. I'm content with him as a no.2 We need a very good keeper if we are talking about taking the next step, if we want to be half a chance in qualifying for the UCL or having a run in the Europa, you need a keeper who is gonna stand up and save you. Glykos could do that, but we don't know which pangioti will come to play.
I also feel in midfield we are okay, between Xarisi/Tzioli/Kace/Cimirot as the holding midfielders and Pelka/Mystakidi as the attacking mids I think we are okay. Tziolis is okay, plays it safe will give some leadership to the younger guys in the middle of the park. It's youthful and energetic (minus tzioli of course) Keep Antonis for depth, I thought he showed glimpses when given a chance.
