Tziolis was okay at one point. I didn't mind him at euro 2012 actually. he is in form too at the moment so I wasn't terribly annoyed at his selection. they really should have put fortounis in there though I digress, pelkas, diamantakos, bouchalakis have great potential

^ I wouldn't say amazing soccer but we got results. One thing that Otto did was he dismissed players with bad attitudes. (Zikos & Georgatos?) Santos I don't think did that? Perhaps the bad attitudes that Moras was hinting at are poisoning the team? I love them when they're performing well but COUGH COUGH Mitroglou & Holebas?

But if our world cup group is already determined. How would effect our world cup? basically our world cup campaign would effect our euro 2020 group no?
-
our ranking doesn't really matter until world cup qualifiers, I think. They seem to basically reset after 2 years

he would be great for AEK right now. I remember watching a video where I believe his father told him to never play in the Greek league. So he has a stigma against it. But honestly dude, Saudi Arabia and not AEK? Let's be real.
-
he shoulda played CB. He's one of the best CB's in the world atm. Top 30 at least. Bayern would at least have scored one goal less with him in the back. He also makes up for the other CB's lack of pace.

If Greece made Euro 2016 , Tziolis would actually be useful. Since Maniatis is injured, we need someone to do the dirty work of DM. As mentioned before, Tachtsidis and Samaris play a similar game. As an idea, Torosidis might be good a CDM now that he's losing his pace. Much like Lahm is doing for Germany. Samaris might be a better LB than Stafylidis when Holebas is out. I don't know much about Petsos, but from what I've seen, he is very impressive. I feel that he's a bit isolated being native to Austria - Similar to how Holebas was. Playing in the superleague or a higher quality league than Austria would up his pecking order. I rate the Greek league higher than the Austria big a considerable margin. In the past the (2010 for example) we were just behind portugal, 7th best league in Europe) Now we're around 13th (just behind Turkeys league) Austrias probably like 16th - slightly better than Cyprus. http://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/uefarankings/country/ It's run very well because it's somewhat like how the Scottish league is to the English League. The Austrian league is like a minnow league of the German league. Despite the Greek relative laissez faire attitude, the quality has always been there. Berg, Cisse, Rivaldo, Galletti have spent some great years in Greece. As well as our domestics Manolas, Sokratis, Karagounis, Katsouranis. It's a great league. Olympiakos beating Arsenal & Paok Tieing Dortmund last week are testaments to it.

both teams look very hungry and in good form. i think ya'll will cancel each other out 1-1

^ This drama is sorta irrelevant. PAOK is a decent team but none of their players are better than our best 11 Mitroglou > Klaus Samaris > Tziolis Fortounis > Pelkas Holebas >Tzavellas BUT the aforementioned PAOK players do have a place in reserve/bench for sure pending on injuries. Pelkas might become more valueble than Fortounis over time, but he isn't right now. We have to use our BEST. None of our coaches had any qualms about playing Kpaps at 20, why? Because he was the best CB for the job at the time. Karagounis started for us at 35 because he was the best CAM at the time.

hmm what do you guys think of starting both mitroglou & klaus? they have different strengths klaus = poaching, faster, body contortions mitroglou = shot power, heading, strength they use opposite dominant feet (though mitroglou can use both) is it a waste for two strikers that could be more utilized to patch up our dicey midfield?
-
^ finally people saying that Klaus & Mitroglou are our best strikers right now! We just gotta solidify our AM/Wingers we got a lot of options, we just gotta find the right formula and we're up and running IMO. 2-3 of these guys are probably our starters unless i'm forgetting someone. Lazaros Fortounis Ninis Kone Fetfatzidis Karelis right now I'm feeling Karelis Kone Ninis (it can really go any way of the aforementioned.) regardles of form probably Karelis Kone Feftazidis (because they're all in our natural position and I feel Kone has a bit more edge than Ninis right now) Samaris as cdm for sure and tachtsidis in for him when slacking. Maniatis with Samaris is a great combo imo they do different things and use different dominant foot. our back end is basically a lock. Mitroglou ??? ??? ??? Samaris Maniatis Holebas Manolas Sokratis Torosidis Karnezis After Torosidis retires we move into a 3 cb position because we have no class right backs compared to the 3 CB's we have. But I say we do this AFTER world cup.

^ interesting point. Hard headed = Mageth

I agree with Sabella. He has international success & Argentina has a similar culture to Greece.
-
I thought it wasn't him in goal for a second because they zoomed to the Milan Keeper
-
You can tell the commentators have so much fun saying 'Samaras' lol
-
Yeah just this year Karnezis > Nikopolidis In His Prime IMO.
-
I'm not going to lie - I kinda would be interested to see how Ranieri would have panned out if he stayed as coach now because of his Premier League success. His approach is very modern and he has no qualms starting a 19 year old if they're in top form. His style is actually closer to British to Italian, it seems. I think his booting was also political. He didn't want to start Katsouranis & was the antithesis of EPO's system of experience is king.
