There will be a new method of ranking. PAOK is in spot #44. The difference is that a club that missed one season (for not qualifying or excluded for one year) or after a bad season will not get automatically that years points of the country. It is to prevent that the clubs that only collected points one year or two years benefit of the points collected in the other 4 years by the other clubs of their country. An example. The coefficient of Spain is 17.799. If a club like Real Sociedad collected in one of the past 5 years 18.500 they will have 18.500 for the ranking. In the old system the would had about 32.700 (18.500 points the collected themselves and 4 x 3.200 as the avarage of the years the didn't complete). Other possible future PAOK-players: Swiss Darko Jevtic from Lech Poznan (a 24 year old midfielder) and Polish Michal Pazdan (a 29 year old central defender of Legia Warsaw, and international player for Poland).

The two keepers we are interested in are 32-year old Guillermo Ochoa from Malaga (his contract ends in a few days) and Jiri Pavlenka (Slavia Prague, he is 1.96 m. tall, 25 years old and should cost about 1,5 mil)

Q1 EL: AEK Larnaca - St Joseph's (Gibraltar). First leg June 29th. Return July 6th. Q2 EL: Winner Rangers (Scotland)/Progres Niederkorn (Luxemburg) vs AEL (Assuming they win of course). First game July 13th. Second game July 20th. So an easy draw and a tough draw for them.

Panionios drew for Q2 of EL the winner of the tie FC Shirak (Armenia)/ND Gorica (Slovenia) of Q1. First game in Athens unless UEFA decides to change that.

Easy draw for APOEL: they face F91 Dudelange of Luxemburg in Q2 of CL. First a game at home on July 11/12. The away-game will be on July 18/19.

Stonojevic wants to see the players earlier than June 25th (somehowe the 21st I mentioned earlier was changed) to get to know the players better. Therefore the first day he will have the roster together is scheduled now for June 22nd.

I can not rate our new coach but I don't like it in general to give a coach a 3-years contract. Especially in Greece where the avarage expiration date of coaches is low (last season 7 coaches were sacked officially, 5 coaches were sacked but that was called in mutual consent). I keep my fingers crossed.

The pre season friendlies while being in The Netherlands are announced: July 4th against a yet unknown second tier team; July 8th against Club Brugge; July 12th against VVV Venlo (just promoted to the Dutch Eredivisie); July 15th against Ajax. Venues not released yet. Might grab some games.

As nobody posted it yet. Greece was #40 on the latest ranking that was released on June 1st. Next release: July 6th.
