asteras has been as a quite as a mouse,they have been robbed in a couple of games against thrynos and said nothing.

as you all know by now I am against the signing of over the hill last stop saloon players in their 30s. essiens nickname is the bison ,he has that nickname for a reason,essiens strong points when he was at his peak was his energy,his tough tackling style,his ability to cover huge amounts of ground on the pitch ,he was an excellent man marker,but he was versatile also helping and playing offensively when needed. at Chelsea he was mainly deployed as a defensive midfielder. my question is ,and this is what I would of been asking myself before signing him,does essien at the age of 33 still have those attributes ( energy,tough tackling,ability to cover huge amounts of ground ) that made him such a great player?if I am going to spend such a huge amount of my budget on one player I have to ask myself can essien still bring these traits to the party? his strong points are not creativity and dribbling etc his strong points were his physical presence. if I was to sign a 33 tr old it would be some one who plays a creative role,who relies on technique,skill and brains not on brute force. I would not have signed him,i hope instead of the bison he doesn't turn out to be bambi.

the curremt crop of greek players is spoilt and soft,i bet you none of them have ever had a job,it would do them the world of good to go and work in a warehouse or labouring to see how bread is put on the table,but they have been wrapped in cotton wool and spoon fed,their whole lives,and been told po po ti paixtara eisai and they start believing that rubbish,they don't know what its like to fight. there was one European coach ,coaching in Greece and he wanted to schedule 6.30 am training sessions he had a revolt on his hands and the players won,the time was changed to 9.30. mitroglou is the prime example he refuses to chase anything resembling a lost cause,pure laziness.

I think rehagle was probably the same age as markarian when he took over,and lets not forget when rehagle took over we copped 5 from finland.rehagle got rid of dead weight georgatos and zikos .

how many games has markarian actually been in charge of ?do we need a coach to beat part timers from the faroe islands?the problems run a lot deeper than the coach.

markarians speciality was tactics that's why we nearly knocked out mourinhos porto and gave barca the scare of their lives.

most greek players have big heads they play 10 games for the first team ,then they get tattoos and try to find some super model wa nnabe and they think they are super stars. if they get asked to do something they don't like or don't agree with they will tell the coach im feeling a bit of a niggle can I give it a miss. if your not willing battle and chase lost causes out there you will get beat,mitroglou is the prime example he refuses to do any work off the ball or chase anything down,i watched lafferty play for northern ireland aganst Romania ,he is the total opposite he ran and chased evry thing trying to create something out of nothing,i know who I would prefer in my starting 11. like I wrote on the national team thread,the boys from faroe islands will be going to work on Monday our millionaires will be going to Mykonos for frapedakia and to get some new tattoos and get their hair done.

markarian is a rubbish coach?do you have any idea what you are talking about? the guy has won 7 championships,2 cups,3rd place with peru in the 2011 copa America,took ionkios to uefa cup qualification at a time when the greek league was actually competitive,took pao to the quarter finals of the uefa cup and the champions league,and reached the final of the copa libertadores with sportng crystal among other succesess,lets think before we call someone with that type of a resume rubbish

the reason outsiders cant win this competition is because of the unlimited eu bosman player rule and the 4 foreigners rule ,so clubs like barca spend big money and buy the best players,they average spending 80 million euros every transfer season how can you compete with that when all the talent pool is with a handful of clubs. that's why pao has to focus on youth and players from the academy making sure we have a program in place that developes players,not buying rubbish that other clubs don't want like mendez,pranjic,petric ,bajrami ,look what karelis has done this season the washed up has beens aren't going to bring anything in ,but players like karelis will ,and if you can develop a starting 11 of kareli like players in all the positions you have something to work with,clubs are interested in him,because he is scoring ,has speed ,strength and is a handful for defenders and is versatile.and if berg and petric didn't have injuries I doubt karelis would of got much game time this season,so it was more by luck than good management by anastsiou that karelis has had a breakthrough season.

juve did everything right ,there defence was well organised ,there midfield worked hard supporting the defence and attack ,any other team and allegri wins that from the bench,but you cant coach against 3 footballing attacking geniuses.the game had its moments and juve were never out of it,barca knew they were in a game.

just to clear things up is pao your team or barca?

great performances in the play offs ,we got back to what was working late last year,we have all seen the recipe for success ,its up to anastasiou not to deviate from what is working .

great win ,love winning in toumba,I have to say ninis movement with the ball and without,his decision making and the way he played between the lines was sublime number 10 play in the first half. mavrias out wide was excellent ,we really need him ,we need good wingers ,to open up tight defences. koutroubis again was good,what is good about him in that position is he plays more attacking through balls rather than just going wide like lagos tends to do,plus he also has the right body for that position ,good in the air and a decent defender. sort of makes you think what could have been ,if we hadn't wasted so much time and energy , giving playing time,to pranjic,bouiy,bajrami,petric( by the way how have we managed to score goals without him during the play offs? ),mendez and kotsolis. can we please focus on keeping karelis and mavrias.

good performance ,very patient, what a goal by berg great assist by ninis,two play off games 6-0 ,if you look at our starting 11 for the last two games you will understand why. koutroubis another good game as a 6.
