I thought the tactics were correct and the way the first half went proves it to be so,kotsolis was hardly tested ,where as their keeper had to make a couple of saves at full stretch. we looked good in the 1st half. zeka ,lagos and koutroubis did well in midfield protecting the defence and not allowing brugge to get in between the lines. ninis looked like a threat all the time and karelis was causing them headaches with his mobility and speed. but it just went horribly wrong in the 2nd half,and this is where anastasiou is at fault,is luke steele our number 1 .yes or no ? was he fit ? I think he was he just played a friendly a couple of days ago,maybe steele saves that first goal and the third maybe he doesn't,we will never know ,kotsolis had no business playing this game if steele was fit which he was,for me I think steele would save the 1st and 3rd goal. I also thought anastasiou panicked at 2-0 by taking koutroubi off and throwing on petric. again the essien transfer has killed us,so much is won and lost in the first month of the season,we should of been firing on all cylinders ,with our marquee player fit ,playing well in the play offs is to little to late. that money should of been spent on attacking players playmakers or wingers,lack of wingers will come back to bite us the backside in the greek league,when we face 2 defensive lines of 4 siting back and playing not to lose.

I don't think we deserved to lose 3-0 ,I though the game plan was good ,until the goal they didn't really threaten us at all,and we had our moments going forward. but in sport sometimes things can go pear shape out of nowhere and that's what happened. kotsolis should never have started,and paying big bucks for an injured star player who was sitting in the stands twiddling his thumbs has backfired on us,if that money was spent on an able body player who could of been out on the field ,we might be singing a dfirent tune now. again brugge did not deserve the 3-0,the only thing they were better than us at was diving. klonaridis needs continuous playing time and a proper position on the field,he is more suited to the wing,if fit I would start him in Belgium,his speed on the counter would be priceless. it is critical that klonaridis gets a run of games then we will see his talent unfold,its very hard when he starts one game then is benched in the other.

we need steele to start ,if he can play 90 minutes in the friendly then he is fit to play in this crucial game.

ajagun is not needed for his offensive qualities,but for his defensive work,he is all out ,high energy ,high work rate, off the ball work is needed more than ever in this game,this game is about holding on to what we have ,and to do that we need to put pressure on them ,harass them and not give them o moments break. also when we win the ball his runs going forward in the transition from defence to attack will be another thorn in their side. let him run himself into the ground for 70 minutes then bring on fresh legs. ajagun will be the first person along with zeka who I would pick for this game,we need guys who are going to get in the trenches and do the dirty work not primma donnas.

we got want we wanted a win,now they have to come at us ,we don't have to go at them,we can sit back,make sure we close down the space and don't give them any time on the ball,defending deep is what tavlaridis game is made for,hopefully steele is fit,then you have zeka ,ajagun,lagos,working their butts off and ninis and karelis hitting them on the break with berg at the top,we actually play some of our best football when we play conservative and don't try to force the game. our fullbacks wont need to push forward they can focus on keeping a nice tight back 4 ,with 4 mids in front of them protecting them. I think they will struggle finding the right balance between attack and defence,im pretty sure we can catch them on the break and that we can out work them in midfield. of course football is not an exact science things can go terribly wrong one bad pass ,one wrong refs call.i think we got them .

pranjic is and always was a left back ,left wing back nothing else,i have no problem with him playing in his natural position,he was ok . like I said all in all a goood result

if you had of offered me a 0-0 before the game I would of taken it,2-1 is a good result ,know they have to win,we go through with a draw and a win we are in poll position. anyone bagging zeka needs to have their head examined. karelis is awesome ,great penalty under pressure and huge work rate. we can beat them in Belgium.

I am not a fan of the 4-2-2-2 ,rightly you said we need mobile ,quick players who are good in tight spaces and quick footed as well as fit to be able to cover for the fullbacks when pushing forward. it will be interesting to see the 4 in midfield. maybe lagos-zeka as cm ? and ajagun-lod as am.? every one else picks themselves.

brugge are the favourites for this match,we have a lot of weaknesess ,we have lost our friendlies ,I know friendlies are friendlies and we shouldn't read to much into it,but it does give you a guide line of what is happening. we lack wingers ,klonaridis can play wing and kaltsas is a winger,but I feel we are very short in this department. we also lack a genuine creative midfielder. no wingers no genuine attacking midfielder means we are going to struggle creating chances and scoring. we need to get away from this obsession with paying top dollar in other words paying attacking players money to holding midfielders.a holding midfielder is not worth as much and shouldn't be getting paid more than wingers and creative midfielders. from what I have seen the lack of width in our game is going to hurt us . good wingers and creative midfieders win you matches ,we have the striker to do the job but we need to make sure we are creating chances for him. the 4-2-2-2 anastasiou wants to play lacks width,it relies on the fullbacks going forward and your attacking mids to drift wide, the system does suite the players we have,ajagun,zeka,lagos who have ball winning box to box athletisism. also for the 4-2-2-2 to fire on all cylinders you need 2 very mobile forwards,so I think we are covered there as well. not having out and out wingers in this system confuses the opposing fullbacks because the att mids don't drift very wide and the fullbacks are not sure wether to mark them or not so as not to encroach on their centerbacks zone,which does allow for a overload against the opposition defence. in this system rather than use the width spreading the field to force 1v1 and use the open space out wide,the attackers bunch together to force a series of 2v1 in very tight areas,thats the theory anyway. the serious flaw of the 4-2-2-2 is if your right and left back don't attack you have little width, and against tight packed defences its very hard to create that attacking overload in the tight narrow spaces. I think anastasiou if he plays 4-2-2-2 is probably right in doing so ,considering the lack of wingers that we have,like I said it is suited to guys like zeka ,ajagun,lagos and karelis,but we are going to struggle in the league when the opposition comes and parks the bus. I prefer to play with wide wingers any time of the day in a traditional 4-3-3,pellegrinni had success with the 4-2-2-2 but also big failures with it depending on his roster,luxembourgo tried to play it at real Madrid but failed because he didn't have the roster for it.
