  1. Same version in English: Dimitar Berbatov: PAOK striker interviews himself on Facebook Dimitar Berbatov, the journalist, asks: "Some media say you don't want to play for PAOK any more?" And Dimitar Berbatov, the footballer, replies: "This is why I am giving an interview to you, and not to people who are coming up with stupid things like this." Confused? Welcome to arguably the season's oddest piece of sporting journalism. Berbatov, once of Manchester United, has interviewed himself on Facebook. The former Bulgaria international, who now plays in Greece for PAOK Salonika, has always been a little, well, unpredictable. But his chat with himself - the ultimate exclusive, perhaps - is no move to fashion a position in the media upon retirement. Instead, he is taking a swipe at the journalists he has accused of coming up with "stupid things". Berbatov the footballer had a bad Sunday. PAOK lost their Greek Super League fixture with AEK Athens. He was a substitute and, when introduced, lasted 38 minutes before being sent off. In his defence, being sent off for the first time in 13 years may be unsettling. He followed it up by taking to Facebook to post an interview between Journalist Dimitar Berbatov (JDB) and Dimitar Berbatov (DB). Here's how it went. JDB: Hi. How are you feeling? DB: Hi. I am fine but disappointed. We lost against AEK, and I received a red card. JDB: Do you think it was a red card? DB: Yes. The player from AEK was holding and preventing me from positioning myself better in the box and this, and the fact, I was angry and nervous, made me hit him. JDB: Why were you so nervous and angry? DB: Because of the fact that I was watching the game, and even though AEK were not the better team, they still scored a goal. Because I was not playing and I could do nothing to help. This was a derby and I came here to play exactly in these kind of games, where my quality and experience can help the team, and not for me to stay on the bench and do nothing. But the opposite happened. JDB: And you are disappointed because of this? DB: Yes. When I don't play, I can't be happy. The problem is that, in this case I took it out on the colleague from the other team. And I am not one of this players looking for a conflict, this is a well-known fact, but in this case the opposite happened, for which I am sorry. In about four hours, Berbatov's interview with 'journalist Dimitar Berbatov' was liked more than 4,500 times on Facebook. The former Tottenham and Fulham forward was welcomed by 10,000 fans at PAOK's stadium upon joining from Monaco last summer and he has gone on to score four goals since. But Sunday's dismissal has seen some factions of the media question his commitment. JDB: Some media say you don't want to play for PAOK any more? DB: This is why I am giving an interview to you, and not to people who are coming up with stupid things like this. This is not true, and with this kind of talk, some people are trying to harm the team. I still feel joy when I play football. I want to play. When this is not happening, I am angry and disappointed. There is no way to feel joy from the fact that I am not playing, and they are paying me good money amid all that is happening in Greece. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/35413697
  2. Aegean Cup that is played in Turkey every year. It's not really the U-17 NT. The tournament is for U-16 teams.
  3. Just heard that Mak and Malezas will most likely not play on Sunday.

  5. Why do I have a bad feeling that we will not make any moves during this transfer period, except for Vellidis.
  6. Sounds about right, but I think Tudor will find a place for Tziolis in the lineup. I also don't think Tzavellas will play as LB. He'll start as CB instead of Malezas. Korovesis might get a chance in this game as LB. Kind of risky to start Vellidis in my opinion only after only two practices. Hope we don't get burned.
  7. Looks like Olympiakos Volos will follow Ergotelis and will drop out of the Football League this season for financial reasons.
  8. I guess all streaks have to end at some time. Loss to the Lightning ending the winning streak at 12 for the Blackhawks. @aek66 - I guess Kane's problems during the summer did not faze him at all. He is having a stellar season so far.
  9. Just wait for couple screw ups by Vellidis, and he will be in the same boat as Olsen and Glykos. That's just the way the PAOK system operates. Unfortunately. Good luck to him. The deal with Vellidis is for 2.5 years. He will get 100K for the rest of the season, and then 350K for the additional two seasons (175K per season). We also paid 450K transfer fee to PAS Giannina. Considering we are paying Glykos 350K and Olsen 450K per season, it's not a bad deal. Apparently there is also a clause in the contract that say we can return him to Giannina after this season if we are not happy with his performance.
  10. Again conceding a goal from a set piece.
  11. Can't stand the guy. I listen to PAOK exclusively on Arena FM. Every time I listen to PAOK games on Libero or Metropolis, we never win.
  12. Vitor in for Sabo. Good move, which means no Tziolis as CB.
  13. Goal Mystakidis!!!!!!!!!
  14. And another big save by Olsen.
  15. Make it three. Big save by Olsen.
  16. Two big chances for Xanthi so far.
  17. There is bad weather in Xanthi, so there is a chance that the will not be played again.
  18. Apparently Tudor will field the following lineup, giving some players rest so they can be ready for the game against AEK on Sunday: ------------------- Olsen --------------------- Kitsiou -Tziolis -Tzavellas - Korovesis --------- Cimirot ----------- Charisis ------ --- Jairo ------ Pelkas ---- Mistakidis --- ----------------- Klaus ----------------------- Hope Tudor knows what he's doing. Last time Tziolis played as CB against Xanthi we got destroyed 4:2.
