Official announcement by the club of Lucas' departure to La Coruna. Sad really, especially as looking at our midfield, if we do as expected dispense with Maduro there is a distinct lack of experience in the middle of the park. I know Kace is coming on but between Sabo, Cimirot, Kace, Antonis and Pelkas you've got an average age of about 21-22, that's pretty light on, hopefully we can get someone reasonably senior in to help these guys along.

By my count he will be the fifth Aussie to play for PAOK behind Yankos, Anastasiadis, Tochouroglou and Covic [i'm not counting Giannou as he wasn't born in Australia]. Am I missing anyone?

As far as Rajkovic goes, I would assume that if we didn't sign him it would be because a] he would be asking too much in wages or b] the guy can't get on the park regularly enough for a club to rely on him. I could handle high wages if you could rely on him to play 26-30 games per year, but he's never done it before. We've been a rehab centre for too many players recently

I might be making a rash statement here, but surely picking up someone like James Troisi who is for all intents and purposes clubless at the moment is a better option than Jairo. Aussie bias not withstanding.

Olsen is a dimwit, never give a referee an excuse to punish you. Pick up the ball, if you get clattered go down like a sack of spuds and get the other guy sent off. The ref made himself look like an idiot twice. First the decision was just plain wrong, Olsen make none to little actual contact with the attacker, he should have pulled them both aside and had words. If however he believed that Olsen deliberately went after the attacker [he must have to give the free kick, penalty and card] then it should have been a straight red for violent conduct.

Could we face Atromitos or can you not be drawn against a team from your country?

The Papagiannopoulos one is strange, considering we have 2 proper experienced central defenders in the squad playing with a 3 man defence. Granted everyone seems to think Tzavellas can play there but so far the evidence seems to indicate he's not cut out for it [that's leaving out the clear off field issues he brings to the table]. If we see more people turning their back on the club ala Rudnev then we could be left short [and even shorter if Costa starts picking up old man injuries]

that's the m*****a you tell yourself, you want PAOK to be a s%$#! disorganised rabble so you can come on here and pontificate with your 'I told you so about arnesen', like we were all on here proclaiming him as the Messiah. I'm ok with you s%$#! stirring but have the stones to just come out and say that that's what you're doing.

Sick of seeing us pick up these guys who play a handful of games for 8 clubs on their way to us and we play them in 15 games over 2 years before we work out they are sh1tful. Looks like a Lucio Filomeno all over again. I hope I'm wrong

Can I assume the Lazaridis in the original post is West Adelaide Hellas' finest Stan Lazaridis? PS Would Alex Dimitriades from 'the heartbreak kid' fly? Sorry, Australian joke there.

soooooooo, I've never heard anyone [too lazy to do an in depth search] talk about torrents for PAOK matches. I used to get them all from tzaba.tv until it was shut down. anyone know where I could get a copy of the game?

Bananas,is that a reference to an AD&D computer game in your signature? I've been trying to work out for days where I know it from?

I know it's pie in the sky stuff, but...... CAMBIASSO he's the kind of model professional that would come and put in for 2-3 seasons. Yes, he is 34 but just played 31 games last year for Leicester in a far more taxing league than ours, would give a great example to the young midfield we are building and you could eaily rotate the younger guys around him. Sell Noboa if he doesn't want to stay and use that cash to bring in a central defender.

I wasn't sure where to post this so I figured this was as good a place as any as it's generally about the club. I've just gotten back to Melbourne after 2 and a bit weeks in Greece[by the way, how fracking cold is it?], a great time was had by all and there were plenty of frappedes and general beach going. We also spent a few days in Thessaloniki [we stayed at Hotel Nikopolis and I can recommend it highly, great pool, service and you regularly see some of the PAOK players there as the team uses it as a base before all games]. On the last day my wife asks if I'm going to go to Toumba and grab some gear like I usually do. It's Saturday so I thought, I'll check and make sure the shop's open on the weekend and head in, get some shirts for the 3kids and sign myself up as a member if I can and support the club. Check the website, open 9-5, sweet, It's 12 in the afternoon, I let the kids play in the pool for a few more hours then get them out of the pool and drive into Toumba with the eldest [she's sports mad and was pretty pumped]. Get to Toumba and there's at least a hundred kids and their families getting on buses to go to some sports carnival. Bedlam in the car park. I squeeze [bTW, what is it with Greeks not being able to park their cars, they all drive small sh1tboxes and can't park to save themselves?] the car into one of the last spots and walk up to the shop. CLOSED, shutters down not a sign of anyone around. Hmmmmm not good. Maybe they're closed so that the kids and families and buses an gather freely in the car park. I'll double check the website, yep 9-5 opening hours. It's the same at the store in the city, 9-5 I'll head in there as it's only a 5-10 minute drive. Go in there and CLOSED with a sign on the window saying opening hours are 10-3. WTF you dipsh1t mofos, how farking hard is it to edit the farking text on your website to show the right farking hours. I was going to spend at least 200 Euro on merchandise alone plus whatever a membership costs. Now that's gone. I'm sure it doesn't mean much to the people who run the show but I'm gutted. Last time I was there the shop was closed for construction. For all the changes that seem to be occurring on the pitch it's the same old m*****es off it. Sorry for the long rant but I just had to get it off my chest.

Adding Medunjanin to Kace and Noboa [he wasn't a lona player was he?] is a good start insofar as getting the kind of possession dominating midfield we need. Next step build the defence, we have been too easy to defeat for too long.

He was a brilliant player and part of the Boca team along with Juan Roman Riquelme and Martin Palermo that dismantled the Real Madrid galcticos mark I in the Club World Cup.
