I wonder if the deal for Korovesis means he's tapped as the replacement for Tzavellas. He still has two more years on his contract after this season is up, so it could be difficult to get rid of him - esp if we don't end up with a new technical director.

This could be the missing link I was searching for in the transfers thread in this forum - how does a team like PAOK, make up the difference between its ~15mm yearly revenue and the considerably higher sums it needs to be competitive? Selling off young players (the Benfica/Pozzo method?) could be a lucrative way to reach this goal. Easier said than done, I'm sure.

The numbers don't lie. And yes we'd get smacked in the CL. We're weaker than last year, and I doubt next year will be better - we wouldn't get past the likes of Schalke. I don't see us fielding a team made up entirely of Noboas with the financial limits we need to live within. I'm guessing/assuming this 15mm is already taking into account the economic realities in Greece (instead of a rosy pre-crisis guesstimate)?

I think Lucas would easily be a starter in the team, but at the risk of sounding like a broken record, the whole reason he was loaned out last season is because he refused to play with a team full of youngsters he didn't respect. We don't need more poison in the locker room. If there's an attitude change, then having him and Mak on opposing wings with Pereyra as the playmaker, would be a very solid starting lineup.

Yeah, they're playing in Lawrence, MA. It is literally a high school football stadium, which sometimes hosts 3rd-division soccer. Might go if it's cheap, I guess.

Me too, it seems like he's adept at Katsouranis-style poisoning of the locker room. I was much more fond of him last year, when an obviously over-the-hill Lino kept getting played ahead of him. This year, there are multiple options better than him at each position he plays.
