The only thing I really know about Mauricio is that he's a #6 (damn you Leveque for taking that number), so he'd give that extra competition for Canas that you mention.
Also unsure about El Khaddouri - he's sold as a #10 but also as a standard midfielder. I guess we'll see soon - he'll likely get minutes during the next match day. In fact, I'd be surprised if he didn't play in our friendly vs Volos.
True, if he takes the Xanthi philosophy and tries to apply it to us, we'll have problems. We will be expected to attack much, much, much more than Xanthi ever was.
Personally, I only want a CB if he's a big improvement over what we have. If we're getting a rotation player, then I want to see Poungouras get time. The kid has potential, which will never be realized if he's constantly superseded by average-quality players.
Perhaps most worryingly, the team looked gassed well before the first half was over. Fitness is a big problem here. I also got the impression that until the first goal, they were playing very disinterestedly - really no better than in the game-that-shall-not-be-mentioned. It's only because Kerkyra is of such a low standard that we were able to get this win. A team like Xanthi or Panionios would have broken us in half.
AEK stumbled today as well, which is great for us. If only Oly would drop some points. Current top 6:
Oly - 6
Panionios - 6
AEK - 4
Giannina - 4
PAOK - 4
Xanthi - 4
Xanthi and Oly play each other next match day.
Did it get accepted? I credit Michel with most of our successes for these past two years. It would be a horrible mistake to let him go. If anything, Savvidis should take another step back and let him run things as he sees fit.
That's game. Team needs a lot of work.
PAO (10 men) is currently 0-0 vs Levadiakos at home
Panionios is beating Apollon Smirnis 2-0 at home
AEK about to start away vs Giannina
This is exactly the kind of game where we should be playing the younger guys. Poungouras came on for Leveque, btw, with Crespo moving to LB. I still think Crespo as a fullback is an awful idea.
It will take time to rebuild this team's confidence. One step at a time.
On the plus side, Leveque and Limnios look pretty good. Campos very dangerous as well.
Malezas bleeding from the nose from the play where Prijovic scored, looks like Poungouras is warming up. Not sure if he'll actually be used as Malezas is changing jerseys (which implies they'll put him back in).
