  1. Nice try by Crespo just now, off a header -edit- actually that might have been Varela
  2. Yeah, it's a poor game so far. They need to put a few away.
  3. 35-40 fans of ours were stopped by police and escorted to the police station until the game ends. What a bunch of frigging morons. STOP TRYING TO HURT YOUR TEAM
  4. Very poor quality: http://firstrowsportes.net/soccer/lamia-paok-krk5a1572?l=1229263860
  5. Here we go! No word of riots yet, fingers crossed this goes smoothly
  6. I'll take the refs being unfair over a riot that will cost us points. Lamia will be under a barrage, and we only need to win by one, after all.
  7. Matos is running on fumes and this is our last "easy" game. It might be wishful thinking, but I'm praying that Lucescu takes advantage of that. Limnios will definitely play, only question is if he starts. I agree that Mak is better, but because Lamia is going to sit back and defend, Limnios might end up being a better stylistic fit against this team. I'm fine with whichever CF we start. Lucescu has been known to throw curveballs in this regard before. I just wonder if Moulin will get any game time. Probably not, if I had to guess.
  8. Here's the selection: Γλύκος, Πασχαλάκης, Μάτος, Δεληγιαννίδης, Αζεβέδο, Μαλεζάς, Κρέσπο, Βαρέλα, Κάνιας, Μαουρίσιο, Μουλέν, Μπίσεσβαρ, Πέλκας, Βιεϊρίνια, Μακ, Λημνιός, Κουλούρης, Πρίγιοβιτς Campos hasn't trained for three days due to what seems like a minor injury. The blogs have been all a-titter about this, but I'm not sure why it's such a big deal...we have an overwhelming number of people who can do the job in that position. Let him be rested for Olympiakos, I say. My lineup: --Pashalakis-- --Vieirinha--Malezas--Crespo--Azevedo-- --Canas--Mauricio-- --Mak--Pelkas--Biseswar-- --Koulouris--
  9. It looks like away fans will be banned for the rest of the season now. Fines to our team for the presence of any fans at games. I think this applies to AEK as well.
  10. Rose two places, to 45th. Just above Czech Republic, just under Montenegro. Egypt is in 43rd, so hopefully a win in our friendly will see us progress up the ladder, bit by bit.
  11. Mistakidis loses another month, seems his ligament didn't heal completely. Undergoing surgery soon.
  12. I'm starting to get nervous about this...both the team and the little Savvidis are asking fans not to show up, due to the chance of provocation.
  13. LA apparently still wants Warda. It looks like they just made a bid, which we rejected, as we don't want to sell him mid-year (and the 1.5 million isn't that great of a price). Personally, I am pretty sure we'll sell Pelkas in the summer, so if Warda is truly rehabilitated then he'd be a perfect replacement. Food for thought.
  14. A few of our younger players were called up to the U20 team: Siambanis (GK) Lyratzis (DF) Hatzidimpas (MF)
  15. Jacobo is now a goalkeeping coach for Aarhus in Denmark. Good luck to him - I remember he was saying (a year or so ago?) that he wanted to create a goalkeeping academy of some sort.
  16. Our 1-5 win over Kerkyra last season is being investigated: https://www.onsports.gr/podosfairo/superleague/story/589354/sok-ypopto-to-paok-kerkyra So did they throw the game, or were we so sure we wouldn't win that we bribed for a 5-1?
  17. Keep in mind that Biseswar is purpose-built to break down those kinds of defenses. Mak is less useful against teams that park the bus and defend deep. Against a team like Oly, Atromitos, etc....it's a different story. I also feel our midfield is a little more self-sure this time around. This is why Biseswar was played in the cup final as a winger - to put an additional body in there that can hold up the ball. In effect, we played an asymmetric formation with a withdrawn left wing (Biseswar) and a right wing that was pushed way up ahead (Henrique, who as you know cannot hold up the ball or defend or do anything but fly towards goal). I think all of our potential opponents this season will have more trouble bossing us around like AEK did prior to the last cup.
  18. Finally someone reports on assists... Below is the number of assists in the league. Pelkas is at 9 in all competitions. If anyone has a good consolidated list (all competitions), I'd be much obliged! Source: http://www.sport24.gr/football/omades/Paok/aytoi-poy-serviroyn-ta-gkol-toy-paok.5075734.html
  19. For sure. This is also our last chance for any intentional rotation until the last game of the season (Olympiakos, Asteras, AEK, Atromitos, Panionios, Xanthi, PAO, Platanias, in that order). With any luck we will have the title locked down before the end of that, but we have a few guys that might be running on fumes (Matos, Varela). Below is my lineup: --Rey-- --Vieirinha--Crespo--Malezas--Azevedo-- --Canas--Mauricio-- --Limnios--Biseswar--Mak-- --Koulouris-- I believe Shakhov is our only player who is sitting out due to accumulation of cards. If the win looks like a lock, Moulin will certainly get some time.
  20. So apparently Brkic *still* has a back problem. I thought this was all a bunch of BS? Read a few times today that he's on his way to Germany for some surgery. Wouldn't doubt that this still is just an opportunity to sit on his contract though.
  21. And that's game, 3-0 win. I wonder if our guys started so energized due to the bigger-than-expected crowd. Are there any numbers available?
