If we had kept a solid record in the Europa League in recent years, then we would not constantly be in the unseeded situation we find ourselves in CL qualifiers. I do agree that Pelkas shouldn't have been subbed. Bitch to me about it if you want, but he's our best player, hands-down. Should have started with a real striker. I don't particularly mind the formation, but when we NEED to score, we should be playing a smarter system. 4-3-3 or something similar. We didn't need three CBs in that lineup; Ingason and Varela (or Crespo in there) would have been just fine.

Participating in the CL earns a team as many coefficient points as 3-4 wins in the EL group stage, from what I recall. That's even if you lose each game. It's how Olympiakos kept their coefficient up for so many years.

I think that's our lineup. The only place for Tzolis is in place of Zivkovic IMO. I'll also say that Pelkas/Tzolis is a proven combo, while Tzolis/Zivkovic do not seem to play well together (yet).

Saw a post on instagram saying that Gaitanidis is heading to Levadiakos (on loan). It was mostly interesting because it claimed that after his first injury (the broken arm), he continued to be injured in the second half of the season and so lost a lot of ground. I don't know if it's true, but it would explain the radio silence on him. -edit- Also reading that Warda is heading to Volos for free, with us retaining a 50% resale rate. Hopefully we make some money off him, though I bet he'll just end up in jail.
