I wouldn’t count on it but I expect the whole team to be switched on. Fortounis dosent do well against good opposition. Italy has good defenders and I don’t see Fortounis troubling them. Samaris will bring no creativity. He is like a log. At least Kourbelis will bring energy and pick out a good ball. Donis, Kolovos and Masouras must start against Italy. They bring what we need and will give Italy something to think about especially with Donis pace.
-
The line up they put up was wrong. It was this... Paschalakis Mavrias Kourbelis Valerianos Koutris Siopis Samaris Masouras Fortounis Pelkas Koulouris Btw Samaris and Fortounis were trash. Siopis did alright. Played better than Samaris. Koulouris not involved enough. We clearly need more quality in midfield and upfront. Samaris is not good enough. Koulouris hasn’t got enough presence. Kolovos is good enough and so is Masouras. Kourbelis is great to have, I’d give him game time instead of Samaris. Tachtsidis and Lykogiannis should have been called up.

Does anyone know what’s the best streaming site to watch the game against Turkey?

It’s clear that Anastasiadis dosent trust young wingers like Chatzigiovannis, Limnios and Lamprou. In my opinion they should be in the team. At least one of them. If he is thinking of playing a 3 man defence than it’s ok. I’m thinking that he see Kolovos as a winger when he shouldn’t be. He is a central players whether that’s CM, CAM or Striker. Chatzigiovannis has dropped off in the 2nd part of the season but his overall quality and talent is good enough for our squad with limited wingers. He can improve more though. Limnios shocked me with how bad he did against the Saudi’s in a friendly a few years ago. It looked like he couldn’t do anything. It felt like Bakasetas was playing. Maybe I had such high hopes and maybe it was just an off day but he has talent. Lamprou has probably the most potential out of all and playing in a better league in Netherlands. What’s the excuse with him? Id would’ve put Masouras in Kotsiras place just because of the speed Masouras has.

There are only 2 centrebacks that are available for the Turkey match. That’s includes Kourbelis. I wonder what formation Anastasiadis will go with 3-5-2 or 4-2-3-1. He wouldn’t go with the first unless he trusts Samaris at CB.

I’m not sweating it for some reason against Italy. I know they are a strong team but I feel like we can win. It won’t be easy but it’s doable. They are not like a Belgium or Germany. But I do believe we need a full squad.

http://www.novasports.gr/podosfairo/europi/european-championship-qualification/article/454987/stin-ollandia-gia-na-htisei-ruthmo-i-ethniki-pics/ This article is saying that some players won’t be able to make it as their respective league finish in late May. Manolas and Sokratis won’t be able to make the camp in other words.

I’m excited to see Greece play 5 games in a span of 4 weeks. The more the national team plays the better. I just wonder what Anastasiadis is thinking in terms of his starting 11. Vlachodimos, Sokratis, Manolas and Fortounis are definite starters. Siovas and Kourbelis can’t be ignored. Also what does he do with Pelkas and Mantalos? Masouras and Kolovos had good showings and deserve to play again. They are also better outwide. When will the likes of Galanopoulos and Chatzigiovannis be called up? Will we see Tachtsidis return? Do you start Koulouris or Mitroglou? Is Stafylidis worth calling up when Lykogiannis and Koutris are in good form? What about Fetfatzidis? These are all going through my head. You can only pick 23 players. Retsos and Papadopoulos won’t be called up in my opinion.

Is that confirmed though?

Rocky 4 is better man!

Is there a way we can watch the games?
-
I think it’s not too much because it gives the new players a chance and a look at the same time with the regular players.
-
That’s a big question mark indeed. International level is different than club. You must have great technique and be simply a faster player to do well internationally. Koulouris needs work still but the number of goals he has scored are excellent.
-
This is what I was thinking. His time is almost up, I believe he has a little bit left in the tank but by the time the Euro comes around he would already would be done in my opinion. That’s I think it’s important we start grooming someone at RB now so he can be familiar with the team and get game time and also experience. Then when the Euro comes around he would be ready with no questions asked. That’s if we make it, hopefully we do.

I agree with this and I would like to think it would be the case but I don’t think so with some of our players. Manolas and Sokratis are locks in the team. Whenever they are available they will start. Same goes for Fortounis too. The best players should start and the most inform. That’s why I found it odd that Lamprou didn’t even get called up. Anyways I think Anastasiadis and his staff have a plan in mind and let’s hope it works out.

It’s a good headache to have regarding our cbs. We have plenty of them and are secure for the future. Same goes for Gks. We have some good Lbs that can hold down the the spot for a few years, while at RB it’s a concern. Kitsiou has not developed to the player I have wanted. Bakakis has reached his ceiling and is not good enough and Torosidis is our passed. The only player I can think of is Masouras of Panionios. Very fast and talented. Our coach should keep an eye on him. We have CDMs, CAMs, but very little of CMs. What is surprising to me is that we have plenty of wingers coming up the ranks. Which is exciting to see as this almost never happens with Greece. Lamprou, Limnios, Chatzigiovannis, Donis, Manthatis and someone else I’m missing. Masouras aswell. If we want to play wingers then play them because we do have them. As for strikers this is where we are hurting most. Mitroglou is very injury prone and takes time to get back into form. Koulouris is doing well for himself, Durmisaj hasn’t shown enough yet, especially on the international stage. Kampetsis is our future and should be taken care of. We have something in this player that I’m not sure some are aware of. So to sum up RB, ST and CM positions need to be taken care of. We naturalised Zeca to solve our problem in the middle but isn’t the full answer. Durmisaj has been naturalised to be a back up to Mitroglou. I also think Mitroglou won’t be a starter from now on. He is 30 and is too slow to begin with. I don’t mind if he comes on in the 60th minute to do something. I believe we should we should placing Masouras at RB from now on. He has got all the tools to be our RB for the next 10 years. Speed, dribbling, passing, crosses, tackling and so on. Above all he is 22. We should see this down the line.. Vlachodimos Masouras Sokratis Manolas Koutris Zeca Galanopoulos Lamprou Fortounis Masouras Koulouris Galanopoulos hasn’t been used. We should see what he offers instead of playing Samaris all the time and Kourbelis. Donis, Kolovos and Mitroglou can be our super subs.
-
Most of our players are injury prone. We can never have a full squad. KPaps on his day is very good. I think we still lack some leadership especially in the middle. This is where Samaris and Zeca come in. We need them to be more dictating and organising things. Zeca by the way was a big part as to why we drew Bosnia. His work rate alone saved us in that game.
-
Not if he is playing well. He still has the ability to be important to the team. He still a good player.
-
That’s true it should be a privilege. Same should go for Masouras and Kolovos. They had good showings and looked more promising than Mantalos and Pelkas. On his day he is very good. He can also score goals. He is very injury prone and that is what cost his career. I can imagine what his career would look like if he wasn’t always injured.
-
I wonder what’s going to happen now that Siovas has been named the best defender in La Liga. He had a good showing the last 2 matches for Greece and deserves to continue playing. Manolas and Sokratis are our best but we shouldn’t neglect Siovas. We might go to a back 3. Also to note K.Papa has returned and could also potentially be in the team. We also have our future in Retsos and Mavropanos.

If anyone has time, this is a great read... https://hellasfooty.blogspot.com/2019/04/greeces-under-19-generation-getting_12.html?m=1

Does anyone think Pavlidis and Vrousai have a chance of getting into the team?? Has anyone seen them play and also are they good enough??

Let’s not jump ahead too much. We should take each game as it comes. Greece done well the first 2 matches. We still have to improve, especially in finishing.
