Every time damn time the NT is ready to play a big game these guys end up dropping like flies. WTF
-
I'm not getting into this again man you have your opinion and i have mine regarding this topic. I'm not going to change your mind and you wont change mine so lets just move on.
-
Listen man lets just leave it as we both look at it differently and move on.
-
I was just going to share the same article. It seems like Zagorakis is going to reach out to Manolas and Sokrais and try to clear up any misunderstanding that took place ad try to get them to come back to NT.

Did you really just say “I have strong issues with argumentative speech” Thanks for the laugh I needed that.. You know you sound like a foolish child when you make remarks like “maybe it’s because most of us Live abroad” that’s as stupid as me saying maybe you don’t feel the passion because you are half Greek and half French Which believe you mentioned a while back.. do you see how stupid that sounds.. at the end of the day there’s no point of going back-and-forth with you on this topic Because I don’t think your brain can comprehend what we are trying to say. I was prepared to keep this conversation civil until you started taking shots.

Bro the only 5 year old mentality right now is your thinking. In what universe do the fans choose the coaching staff or the players? That is such a nonsensical argument that just belittled your complete statement. The fact that you don't think players play and pour there heart for there Flag and country is the stupidest argument you can make right now. Go back and watch the interviews from the euro 2004 players who had tears for the flag and EVERY single one of them said "they did it for there country and the people" watch any sport when players are interviewed of being selected for there national team in all sport and all of them say "its a huge "honor to represent our country" You are right this is a completely stupid argument and the fact that you don't get it tells me all i need to know. And BTW what I'm talking about has nothing to do with Manoals or Sokratis so i don't know why you are bringing them up as I'm talking in general when playing for your country and no where did i say those players are traitors maybe go back and reread my original comment.
-
I'm confused so then why did they decline this call up?
-
I disagree completely, when you are called up to play for the National team to represent your country you are 100% playing for the Flag aka country, the people and pride and anyone who thinks differently should never put on a national team jersey. The feeling you get when your country wins a world cup or a Euro can not compare to winning with your club team. The club team represents a small portion of people but that national team win will UNITE the entire country.

I hope we see the call ups this upcoming week.
-
Personally i think that was a nice was of saying NO. Manolas, Siovas and Sokratis are all close and this was a stand against not being called up and and statement to back there boy Siovas IMO..
-
100% they are holding a grudge, they probably all spoke and said they are done with this team.. Which means they are not putting the team first.

I guess we shouldn’t really be surprised as these players have pride. Did we really think Manolas and Sokratis would take JVS offer? Especially after he completely left them out and never gave them a reason. After looking back now I was on board with cleaning house but JVS hadn’t bothered calling these guys up not even one time and have not communicated with them at all. He kind of left them in the dark when technically they never did anything to JVS and his team. Also when JVS cut Siovas from the team for taking a shot and “saying it’s different when you don’t have the best Greek player on the team” something along those Lines when he was referring to Manolas that was probably the last draw. Going back as I mentioned I was on board for a culture change but the way JVS completely shut them out was probably not the smartest thing to do.. Now that the coach wants them and desperately needs them they pretty much gave JVS the finger.. This is very disappointing as I was starting to get optimistic and excited to Manolas play and especially if Siovas was back as well it would have made our back end solid.. Oh well it is what it is now.

JUST IN: John Van't Schip revealed on OPEN TV he approached Manolas & Sokratis to return to the Ethniki but both refused by their own decision. He further revealed Kapino & Kyriakos Papadopoulos are back in the Ethniki for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Spain & Georgia

They were very vocal when Ang didn’t call Toro up. They were not happy about that at all and they made there feelings loud and clear in the dressing room.. That’s what was being reported at the time. Apparently they also influenced call ups with Skibbe as well. But that was then and this is now I agree players deserve 2nd chances and that’s why I think I would bring back Siovas as well.
-
I agree with you and that’s why I’m for having him back in the line up.. That coach was an absolute disaster so I agree something needed to be done and maybe it was there leadership and love of the National team that made them speak out. My problem with them was when they were vocal about certain guys not being called up.. At the end of the day I know guys complain on here we don’t have a big name coach and that’s a valid argument but don’t forget the EPOs budget for a coach will never give us a big name. JVS has done a really good job. He has changed the culture, Attitude and style of play and that wasn’t an easy thing to do in such a short period of time.. Now that we have a mix of young guys playing adding Manolas on the back I think will work great. I’m still concerned about our midfield and finishing but I’m liking the direction we are headed.
-
I'm happy Manolas will get another chance but i do understand the concern of others, The problem was not just Manolas and Sokratis complaining about the coach the problem was they would dictate who should get called up and start and who shouldn't and when they didn't agree with the players selections they were vocal about it which caused division in the locker room and that division reflected there play on the field. I get all that but if JVS spoke with him and feels he can give him a chance to come back as long as he understands JVS runs the show and not the players then I'm good with having him back as he is desperately needed.
-
I completely understand where you’re coming from I had felt the same way, but the reality is if we want to win we need our best players. I’m excited that Manolas will be back as he is by far a big name player for us. If he has a humble attitude and takes a leadership role then this could work out great, if he doesn’t and he starts causing problems then JVS can officially cut him. I do think he deserves an opportunity tho and it’s a huge boost for us.

Apparently it’s official Manolas will be back according to reports. Copy and pasted from Facebook post. ❗ According to several media, the return of 29-year-old center defender Kostas Manolas is imminent. John van ' t Schip is said to have recalled Manolas for the qualification because he was not removed from the squad forever. Now a comeback is to come for the games against Spain ?? and Georgia ??. As it stands with Papastathopoulos and Siovas as well as Mitroglou is not yet known. ??

Just out on Sportime “According to Sportime, John van't Schip is seriously considering selecting Kostas Manolas for the Ethniki after 16 months for the upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Spain & Georgia in March. The Napoli defender last appeared in the 1-1 draw with Liechtenstein at OAKA.” sportime
