Just watched a replay of the game. Some good things and some bad things. The wingers of the other teams seem to give our defenders a lot of problems on a regular basis and we need to address that ASAP. Also i will give the team a pass as we are missing some players and some of the guys playing don't have full playing time with there club teams. In saying that if we don't get 3 points against Kosovo its a complete failure and JVS job may be on the line as it will once again be ANOTHER failed tournament. Mavropanos was terrible in my opinion and It seems like JVS is going to live and die with Bakasetas as his main go to guy. Manolas and Siovas would make this team so much better and stop us from those mental breakdowns that occur for us regularly but unfortunately JVS has ruined that from happening.

If we lose to Kosovo then this game won’t matter anyways. But I agree anything less then 6 points in our next two games ends our hopes completely.

Looks like the trend continues right before qualifying games for us, as now on top of Fortounis and Tzolis we just lost Masouras and Galanopoulos to injuries and they will also not join the NT. This juts keeps getting worse and worse for us.

Tzolis out for 3 weeks with calf injury will not join the National Team.

This is what i would go with as well but unfortunately just like @kbxk508 said i cant see how Bakasetas stays out of this line up which is just ridiculous at this point that he's an automatics starter and taking a spot from a more talented player in his position.

I figured since we are less then a couple weeks away I would start this new thread. We don't need to stress the Importance of this game as anything less then a win would be a complete failure. Hopefully the call ups are announced soon.

Its going to be very difficult that draw against Georgia might have ended our chances. Spain and Sweden looked pretty good at the Euros. Dropping points against Kosovo or Georgia will end our campaign as i cant see Sweden or Spain dropping points to those teams.

JVS doesn’t get it or sees something that we don’t in regards to Bakasetas.. The team is so much more fluid when he’s not on the field.. I don’t know how JVS doesn’t see it.. Bakasetas is the starter and the captain for this team and JVS go to guy.. It’s becoming very aggravating watching him start every important game and ruin any flow the team has.

Man we look so much better in our friendless then our qualifier matches..

Bakasetas again my God..

At this point I have lost any hope I had in JVS. He gave us some optimism when he first came in and had the team playing high tempo only to go back to questionable player selections and playing confused and not knowing if the team wants to attack or defend. Also decisions he's made in regards to keeping Manolas in the dark and keeping Siovas off the team for his comment is just not right. At this point it looks like another failed qualifications which will ultimately lead to a new coach and back to square one we go.

Ya you might be right but after escaping with an unexpected draw against Spain the Georgia draw feels like a loss.. We had a huge opportunity to grab 4 points and still be within striking distance of 2nd.. More then anything the more I think about it now that i had some time to digest the games JVS was completely at fault for the draw against Georgia, it’s like he had the team playing scared and afraid to press.. It truly was a pathetic performance. I do see your point when you look at it your way it just sucks because we accomplished a huge point against Spain only to give it back against Georgia..

Not only did we not get into the Euros but after the draw with Georgia making the World Cup is extremely slim. I think JVS get removed after this World Cup qualifications and they will bring someone else in for the Euro campaign.. I’m still so gutted from the Georgia Draw.

He was very humble and spoke openly and honestly without disrespecting other players.. He mentioned something that we always knew about how shady things are going on in the background. He also mentioned how there our Greek players that are playing for big leagues that are not being called up. He was honest about the player call ups and how he thinks they are not the right choice.. You can see that Manolas, Socrates, and himself will not play for this coach.. At this point I just want a coach the plays our absolute best players I’m so tired of this s%$#!.. we are trying to win games with Svarnas and Mavrias when you have Manolas and Siovas and even Socrates off the team.

Came across this video of the NT journey to the last world cup tournament they made.. Man i miss this team and players, so sad how low we have dropped ever since this last world cup appearance..

I agree with everything you said. the one thing i did like about JVS at the beginning is he gave more young guys a chance when he first came in but that seemed to stop and he stuck with a guys that have no business playing. I read an article about Ninis the other day saying he may get another chance to play for the NT. I think i would also bring back Fetfa if not as a starter i think he could be used as a bench option to add a spark to the team. Bakasetas is to JVS what Tziolis was to Skibbe Those guys have no business starting. At most Bakasetas should be coming in off the bench when the team needs to close out a game and nothing more. I really don't know what the answer is anymore I'm so frustrated with this team. We know there is no other high end coach that will come here so maybe you get a younger Greek coach that knows the players.

I can't go back on what i said before the qualifiers (others did as well) which is if we drop any points against Georgia or Kosovo we have NO chance at finishing 2nd. Yes Georgia gave Sweden and Spain a tough match but at the end of the day both those teams found a way to secure 3 points because that's what good teams do and we couldn't. Greece is now 4 points behind Sweden and we have both played 2 matches. There is no guarantee Spain take all 6 points from Sweden in fact I can see Sweden getting two draws but the most important factor is I can't see Greece beating Sweden to gain any ground, at most I can see a draw. It's like JVS didn't trust what he's been preaching its almost like he watched tapes from the Georgia game and had his team playing more scared not to concede then rather play high tempo that allowed us to create chances against teams like Slovenia and Kosovo (even though we didn't score we had chances). I have not been a hater or a huge supporter of JVS but i wanted to give him time to prove himself and he has done good things as there have been games where Greece were attacking and creating like I've never seen them before but the consistency is not there and this team is still lacking an identity of how the want to play and after the Georgia and Spain game it shows now more then ever.

I agree with you, But we have also faced Italy with JVS and although we didn't win we had what i thought was a good performance in Italy where we attacked more an even scored a goal and it was unfortunate we didn't get a result. We should be better then a 4th or 5th tier team but the results right now are not proving it. JVS has done some good things but it's clearly not enough but going through so many coaches the last several years he has had the team playing better prior to our last two games. Obviously if a better coach becomes available they should go after him but once again it wont happen on the EPO's budget that's the point I'm trying to make.
