  1. Buonanotte actually had a ok season, just wasnt like by any if the managers. Betbatov i didnt focus on tbh and Essien was injured for he majority of his time at PAO?

Like i said the Greek league is far from anything special, he bossed it in Turkey which is not that far ahead or if anything pn par with us. 2 years is a long time so im sure he wont be as good as he was with them but what can you do he transfer is done and the only thing we can do is stay positive.

He has good attributes, might be a the nice poacher we need, good height and strenght, doubt he bas much pace, but thats not that big a problem.

Im willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that the last 2 years were a glich and he can get back to his Werder Bremen/Besiktas form.

  2. Taking everything into consideration its a good signing considering we only have a few days before we have to register our team for the games vs St Etienne.

At least we know he has the quality to put the ball in the back of the net, his record at Besiktas and Werder Bremen are good aswell as his NT record. Now weither he still has that quality is unknownc, based on his performances since leaving Besiktas in 2014 it doesnt look good, however, at least he has a somewhat proven track record, the Greek league is nothing special so he could make it.

It still leaves us with the rest of the summer to get someone better in, but in the mean time with the St Etienne games coming up id prefer to have him on the team than not too.

  3. Milo really wanted him?? Jesus bravo to the PAE.

Apparently we are close to Patricio Rodriguez.

Also Poyet can fack off, first he inserts the knife, now he is turning it.

  4. Lools like Belkaroui is on his way to Athens to sign.

Im guessing somebody at CB will go, we would now have Kolovetsios(6"0), Lambropoulos (6"1), Tzanetopoulos (6"4), Chygrynskiy (6"3) and possibly Belkaroui (6"5) if it goes through.

We are also linked with this guy

Prolific goalscoring record, could be the answer altho alot of interest from Spanish teams Betis, Celta Vigo and Deportivo la Coruna.

  5. Great goal, and yes Pepe is back, big plus for Portugal.

Can Ronaldo cement his name with the greats and achieve his greatest feat as a player? Biggest game of his career. Career defining, will probably be his last chance to win a title with Portugal.

  6. ^It's the fans fault IMO, most people in Ireland support Man United, Liverpool, or to a lesser extent Celtic and Leeds.

If the majority of these fans put the money and passion they have for the English clubs into the Irish clubs they would take off.

Attendances are shockingly bad, the peoples argument would be why bother watching Shamrock Rovers play with a bunch of nobodies when we could be watchingg United and Liverpool etc.

The Irish leagues goal should be to emulate the Scotttish PL, sure its nothing special but at least the scots support there own teams rather than those of England.

    Will never happen however.

In regards to player development the second a Irish player has even an ounce of talent he is shipped off to England, many Irish players in the youth academies of Man City/United, Arsenal, Liverpool etc, its just the way it is, the clubs are probably offered a couple of thousand, but Im sure the player himself wants to head over to England and make a name dor himself rather than stay in Ireland.

It happened with Ritchie Towell, top goalscorer in the Irish league 2 seasons in a row, went over to Brighton & Hobe Albion in January, barely got a sniff as they pushed for promotion to the EPL.

  7. I wouldn't say that he's nothing special, he did play over 150 games in the Bundesliga. From what I've read and seen, he's similar quality to Johanson and will help us a lot with a heavy schedule this year. Hopefully we will never see our players as exhausted as we did in the playoffs.

Yeah Im sure he is good, but just a filler IMO, cover for Simoes and Johanson, we'll see if he has what it takes to play in their positions if either are fatigued or injured.

In regards to Diaz, I'm guessing he is also to provide cover to Didac Vila, I've never heard of him or seen him play, started off at Liverpool tho so that's something, cant be much worse than Soiledis (sorry Amorge  )

I just really dont get all of this cheap/free agent stuff. Surely we have to have at least 4/5 mil to be able to spend on players. We are better off than last year with Bakasetas and Chygrinksiy, but only slightly. We really need a 20+ goalscorer or we can forget mounting a title challenge or even EL, whats the point without having somebody who can put the ball in the back of the net with ease.

Right now we have Pekhart and Aravidis up front, Pekhart I'm not judging yet, he only signed in February, a good pre-season under his belt im sure he will do better, and we all know how much effort Aravidis puts in but isnt a killer in front of goal, misses to many chances, but is still key to the team.

    We need a Berg/Blanco 2008 eleos.

  8. Surely they can get someone that has a decent track record instead of the garbage we have been linked with.

Looks like Kacar will sign on Thursday, again, doesnt look like anything special, most likely just another body in midfield seen as we lost Zuculini and Cordero, will most likely act as cover to Johansson & Simoes.

  9. Fletcher has signed for Sheffield Wednesday, im not dissapointed tbh, hes nothing special imo, and a hefty paycheck.

We are looking at Croatian striker Duce Cop, excellent record at Zagreb, but poor everywhere else, still young enough to improve.

  10. Best of luck Brec, a scholar and a gentleman! We most likely would not be where we are now if not for his crucial goals during the struggle.
