  1. It's so embarrassing Greece have NEVER won in Finland, a nation who NEVER qualified in a major finals tournament.
  2. I have heard she had an Achilles injury, not torn, but a pulled one. If that is the case, it's a great shame. I was wondering why she couldn't medal in the 100 and 200 meters, but can in the 400?
  3. Finland will always be a winter sport, javelin throwing nation. ?
  4. One goal for Greece can make the difference between winning or losing.
  5. The entry standard is 1.94 for women's high jump and she only has a seasons best of 1.88. Doesn't Greece normally get two wild card spots? I was hoping Spanoudaki gets in.
  6. Correct, Greece have themselves to blame for blowing a 15 point lead against Brazil and played a crappy 3rd quarter which cost them that game and the potential quarterfinals appearance.
  7. Looks like Greece will win and advance into the second round where they will face United States first, then Czech Republic. I heard Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics player) will sit out vs. Greece.
  8. New Zealand are no pushovers, they are playing real hard.
  9. Czech Republic pulled off the upset over Turkey ?
  10. I have a feeling both Kyriakopoulou and Belibasaki will not make the trip to Doha, as the athletes have not recovered from their injuries.
  11. I know, right!?
  12. So, Greece must defeat New Zealand to advance into the next round, and will have to play better against USA and Turkey (assuming they defeat Czech Republic tomorrow).
  13. AFC East - Patriots AFC South - Texans AFC North - Ravens AFC West - Chiefs AFC Wild Card - Browns, Chargers NFC East - Eagles NFC South - Saints NFC North - Vikings NFC West - Seahawks NFC Wild Card - Bears, Cowboys
  14. Giannis only scored 13 points against Brazil, that isn't going to cut it.
  15. Bosnia is playing in Armenia, it is possible Armenia could get points in that match.
  16. Greece got 14 medals at the 2019 Balkan Championships (6 gold, 6 silver, 2 bronze) Gold - Emmanuel Karalis - 5.66 CR Gold - Elisavet Pesiridou - 13.11 SB Gold - Stamatia Skarveli - 71.33 PB Gold - Irini Vasiliou - 51.75 PB Gold - Paraskevi Papachristou - 14.24 Gold - Christos Frantzeskakis - 76.67 PB Silver - Mihail Anastasakis - 75.32 Silver - Theodoros Chrysanthopoulos - 5.45 Silver - Miltos Tentoglou - 7.88 Silver - Efi Kolokytha - 6.41 Silver - Eleni Claudia Polak - 4.28 Silver - Isavela Kotsachili - 10:37.53 PB Bronze - Rafaela Spanoudaki-Chatziriga - 23.16 PB Bronze - Christos Kotitsas - 1:50.48
  17. Rafaela Spanoudaki ran a personal best of 23.15, finishing 3rd. It's not enough to put her in Doha, but it is possible she may get in as a wild card
  18. Turkey nearly pulled off the upset, losing 93-92 in OT to the United States.
  19. Greece fell short on a comeback 79-78 defeat to Brazil.
  20. Greece lead as much as 15 points, lead at the half 40-30, now down by 3 after 3 quarters. A poor third quarter by Greece, limited to just 13 points. 56-53 Brazil lead.
