Welcome to the forums Stealth, AEK442 and CincinattiAEK! Its great to have more AEKTZHDES brothers among us. Let me start by saying that I was wrong about our kits. Our squad looked sharp out there in those kits. I'd even say they looked badass! haha As far as the game is concerned: Pros: Almeida: Wow, he really impressed. I really expected him to be your typical not so flashy finisher, and although he has shown that thus far as well, his movements off the ball and his technique with the ball at his feet have been a pleasant surprise int he last two games. I especially love the chance we had with Mantalo where the entire play started off of a well put sentra off of Almeida to the right. Also I won't even discuss the magic of his second goal, but it really hasn't been since Blanco (possibly Brecevic but we didn't see him in the first division) that we've seen such a decisive finisher the way we saw in the first goal. If he continues to play this way and get in better shape, we have found something special in a player who has another 4 good years in him. Patito: This guy can be something very special for us. The simplicity and fluidity in his movements really reminds me of Scocco. Tsigrinski: I love this player thus far. He really reminds me of a Maistorovic and Della type player we've been looking for the last few years. Arxontiko paikths! Mandalos: He's really turning into the leader we are looking for and you can see his confidence in front of the net slowly grow. Negative: I still feel that Ketspaya is making some bad mistakes in the line-up. I feel like Galo was terrible not just because of his recent injury, but because of the persistence in playing Bakaseta out of position and leaving Galo without true backup. Bakaseta has so much to offer in a more central role, and you see him stray towards the center during the match leaving a big gap in our right side. Lampropoulo does not have the quality to be a CB let alone a DM. When in that position, his lack of quality really stands out, from miles away. Ketspaya's persistence in putting him there is kind of worrying. My overall impression of the game is excitement. We haven't seen this type of fluidity in our attacking game in years! For years(especially under Della) we're used to seeing this team do anything and everything int he final third without finishing. Today we saw a team that with 2-3 good passes was creating an opportunity to score. Just imagine that we were without Simoes, CHRISTODOULOPOULO and Galo(Bakaki will start to work his way into the lineup too) was just coming off of injury, and you realize that there is a lot of potential here. I'm still not 100% sure about how I feel about the black one. Sometimes I look at it and I find it somewhat tacky and other times I look at it and it starts to grow on me. I think I like the Jersey but don't like the entire kit on the team. Shorts seem kind of long and a different black than the one on the jersey. Still torn on whether I'm going to buy though. Those number alone are a great touch! Sydney, or anyone else, if you get your hand son the jersey can you send us some pics of what its like in person?

Here's how I view things right now. As far as we're concerned, I was very upset about the handling of Barbosa. But I changed my mind as soon as we got Christodoulopoulo (we were lucky it went so smoothly) I personally love the quality he brings both at club and national team levels and I think he's a notch above Barbosa in consistency and knowledge of the league. As far as the league is concerned. Our biggest hole right now is the DM position not having a proper back up. Lampropoulo isn't good enough for me in the CB position let alone DM where you need even more quality. Other than that position though, we are very strong this year and most importantly we have kept a cup winning core and added to them. Panathinaiko right now look to be the strongest signing wise, however some of their signings seem like overkill. A team with that many signings in one year, might have chemistry issues especially when most of the players want to get playing time. But again, they're deep and are going to contend for the title. Paok are stronger, but Paok is Paok. Not a heavy enough jersey to contend for the title in my opinion, not to mention how hard they are trying to talk us into the myth called Coach Ivic. The gauro saved their season in one week. We can say all we want about Cardozo being 33 but he's coming off of 2 pretty good seasons in turkey and world class seasons at Benfica. He is going to make a difference for sure. My biggest concerns are Ketspaya, DM, and Foward positions. Strapatsoni pretty much showed us what it means to have a well connected coach, and in my opinion, a coach who doesn't hand pick his players and doesn't have a large budget can only go so far. I hope that Simoes and Johanson hold off at least until the winter so that we can make an addition then. Other than that this is the first season since 2010 that we are going into the season with bigger dreams and I think it is well deserved. Lets see what the Cup Champions are capable of. If PAOK were playing by themselves, they'd still finish 5th. Its your rightful place, don't forget that. This Barbosa chronicle is another foreseeable shitfest in planning. Sell first worry about replacements later. Another major let down by management if they don't find an appropriate replacement. Not to mention you have essentially distracted the player if you don't actually sell him.

Huge signs of a small coach is what we are seeing today. Combined with a terrible transfer policy, we better hope Johanson doesn't get diarrhea again, or get used to a giant black hole in the middle.

Our team has the habit of breaking contracts and letting players go for free, without having a back-up and so we have to resort to playing our weakest CB as a midfielder. We let go of Anakoglou AND Cordero for this mess. Anakoglou I understand, but Cordero was the most ridiculous decision ever.

We played well. But none the less, there is a giant gaping hole in the middle. Their wingers are quick and will tire our players if we don't close that gap in the middle. Its pretty much all or nothing now so Ketspaia needs to pull his balls out of his stomach and play like were AEK.

Giant hole in our midfield right now. Only action coming from the wings and from long balls. We need to get lampropoulo out of there and change to a 4-1-3-2 or 4-1-4-1 to have a chance of attacking St.Ettiene and taking back the midfield. I don't know in what galaxy Lampropoulo is good for the midfield. We picked today to experiment

AEKAlex welcome to the forums! Are you the Alex from the previous site? I really like what is going on in the team right now. I don't remember too many seasons in the last 10 years where we kept as many core players in the lineup from the previous season. Not only do our players know each other better, but they had another training camp together to get in better shape. Vargas, i hope everyone is right, but he started off on fire last season too, so i want to wait and see how his stamina holds up as time passes. I love the addition of experience through Tsigrinski and the risk with young Galanopoulo. What does this say about Anakoglou, that a 19 year old got playing time in a European match and he isn't even on the team anymore? I guess he just didn't want it bad enough. Anyway, I love whats going on right now and if Patito and Almeida show up for us, with a few more additions int he winter time, we could be on to something great here.

What purpose did pulling up a post from our game against KALITHEA serve exactly? Take it easy Mr.Hindsight You guys are way too harsh on Cordero. He had a tough season filled with injury but coming off the bench, more often than not, he provides solutions. Cordero is quality, we just need to hope for him to have a good pre-season. I really hope we can get Kala. The guy was a glimpse of light when he was on our squad and he has consistently kept AEK in his thoughts.

I like that Mpakaki is being used on the wing, we are going to need all the help we can get on that side with Rodriguez.
