What you wouldn't do for a beer, hey? ;)

lol! I promise they are my genuine predictions.

On a serious note football is getting really good lately, imo. It appears that we're coming out of the elite-dominated-game. Every where you look results are hanging on a thread!

At International level, there's:

Israel vs Russia

Norway vs Turkey

Scotland vs Italy.

These game's are "finals"! England relying on others and Italy having to avoid defeat against an in-form Scotland to qualify.... it's unheard of.

It's happening at club level too.

Lazio vs Olympiakos (winner is almost guaranteed qualification)

Liverpool vs Porto & Marseille (last years finalists and winners from 3 years ago have to win the last 2 games to qualify).

Rangers vs Lyon also setting up to be a final type game.

It's great for football.

Worst case scenario:

Greece

Germany

England

France

Best case scenario:

Greece

Czech Rep

Poland

Romania.

Unless we do get that best case scenario then the odds will seriously be stacked against us. Teams like Portugal and Turkey will be looking to get revenge if they draw us so things could be bad. The key however is avoiding England & France. If we draw any of them we are practically out.

Why should France and England each be a threat? France, Czech, Portugal and Spain were supposed to be threats to Greece in Euro 2004 and look what happened. The "weakest team" Greece played, Russia, were the biggest threat because they almost knocked Greece out.

Russian businessman offered 4 Mercedes' to Croatian NT as incentive to win

Well, like the guy in the interview said (Gaillard), it was an incentive to win, not to lose, thus nothing wrong happened ... :)

Btw plato that last link won't work (404 error) ...
