Batigol
Arguably one of the best refs in the world today, Pierluigi Collina is in a bit of trouble these days. After being let back into reffing for the upcoming season, it seems that he's getting some sort of sponsership deal with OPAL. OPAL, who many of you already know to be the major sponsor of AC Milan, doesn't seem to think there is anything wrong with the whole situation. Now it is it just me or there a bit of a conflict of interest here. Especially if they let him ref Serie A games. What do you guys think? Should he be allowed to get a sponsership deal? Do you think reffing associations should be allowed any type of sponsership? I say no way. :nono:
evalagoal
Wait a minute..... What a joke this is. What does a ref have to do w/ sponsorship? Don't most of these guys have a job other than being refs? This is just another way that soccer now wants to make more $$$$ Nothing against Colina but it's a money-maker thing and if this happens it could mean that we will have pre-maddonnas as refs and the game will ruin... :nono:  :nono:  :nono:
Korisos
actually he just ended his career over this issue, the italian referree's asociation would not allow him to ref games unless he had the sponsorship deal revoked and he didn't do so.
