Rumours in Turkey

Recommended Posts

He is the sort of player we need in our midfielder but i really really doubt if he wants a move to Turkey even if he is agreed to leave Inter. i heard that Bolton and newly promoted Norwich were chasing his services as well...

though Gala, as a team, is much more prestigious than Bolton or Norwich, a move to Premiership might effect his decision. He might do what Postiga did last season!

though i don't expect this transfer to become genuine, Giorgios will be the man to run our midfield... :smartass:

and if we can sign Karagounis and Djalma Feitosa Diaz together than watch out for the Turkish double next season...

Asking for more news... Here are the rumours at full throttle...

- Besiktas Chairman Yildirim Demiroren insists that Besiktas are to go for the French pair, Nicolas Anelka and Sylvain Wiltord. Both forwards are set to leave their clubs and as the names of Mohammad Zidan and Zsoltan Gera take their places in the papers, it seems that Besiktas will have at least one top quality striker next year. This has been a big problem after the departure of Ilhan Mansiz in February.

- This rumour has been riggling around for a while, but Galatasaray is desperate to land at least two worldclass midfielders to Istanbul. The players whose names are more favoured are Djalma Feitosa Diaz, Marcelo Gallardo, Giorgios Karagounis and Sabry Lamouchi...

- Fenerbace coach Christoph Daum is persistent in his wish for a Goalie addition to the team's squad. Although Volkan Demirel had a great season in the Canaries' goal, Daum wants a more experienced guy than the 23 year-old. Former Fenerbahce keeper Rustu Recber, Celta's free agent keeper Oscar Cavallero and Djurgarden's Andreas Isaksson are all said to be Daum's targets.

Gala eye Inter pair

Galatasaray officials are in Milan in the hope of landing Mohamed Kallon and Sabri Lamouchi, according to reports in Italy.

Kallon, who missed six months of the season after failing a drugs test, has caught the eye of a number of clubs, including Arsenal, Fulham and Fiorentina.

While Internazionale are not actively looking to see the African leave, it is believed they would accept large bids for the pacey forward.

French midfielder Lamouchi has endured a below-par campaign at Giuseppe Meazza, although his lack of playing time affected his form.

The 32-year-old has another season on his Inter contract, however the side may opt to let him leave for a reduced price rather than for free next summer.

Ortega has Brazil option

Argentine ace Ariel Ortega is discussing a move to Corinthians as he seeks to end his Fenerbahce nightmare.

Ortega is currently suspended by Fifa due to a dispute with his Turkish side Fenerbahce but is desperate to return to playing.

Fenerbache have made a proposal to his former club River Plate in a bid to resolve the issue but the Argentine side have not accepted the offer.

The Turks wanted in-demand striker Fernando Cavenaghi in exchange for Ortega, something which was not greeted with enthusiasm by River president Jose Maria Aguilar.

"Fenerbahce have said we can keep Ortega and will give us $3 million if we give them the striker Fernando Cavenaghi," said Aguilar.

"But we have said no, we are not interested in that."

Brazilian outfit Corinthians have now made a move for Ortega, with club officials having met with their Fenerbahce counterparts in an attempt to reach a deal.

Buruk set for Besiktas switch

Internazionale's Turkish midfielder Okan Buruk is to make a return to his homeland with Besiktas.

The talented midfielder has agreed a pre-contract agreement with Yildirim Demiroren, who was only elected Besiktas' new president on Sunday.

The player's agent, Ahmet Bulut, has also confirmed that his 32-year-old client received an enquiry from former club Galatasaray.

However, it appears Buruk is destined to keep his word and sign for Besiktas before the end of June.

''Okan will sign on June 15,'' confirmed Bulut.

''I'm going to Italy to talk to Internazionale's directors on Friday.''

After reaching an agreement with Vicente Del Bosque as their coach, Besiktas are now targeting Fernando Morientes for their striking concerns. Del Bosque is a keen admirer of Fernando and it is also known that Fernando Morientes wants a move away from Bernabeu after being dropped to reserves. It is a big doubt if Besiktas can match the offers of Chelsea and PSG but it will be a perfect move for the Black Eagles.

Galatasaray board requested coach Gheorghe Hagi to make a selection between two midfielders, namely Marcelo Gallardo and Djalma Feitosa Diaz. In a press release Hagi stated that he would love both players to play for the Lions, but it is a very far-off possibility because of the club's financial status. Galatasaray are believed to be owing around 18m € to their current and former players. The list of players include many that played for the club between 1998-2004. Here are some of them: Michael Revivo (550k €), Ali Lukunku (400k €), Felipe Loureiro (750k €), Iulian Filipescu (250k $), Jose Fleurquin (140k $), Serkan Aykut (400k $), Mario Jardel (200k $)...

After failing to agree on a fee for Boudewijn Zenden with Chelsea, Fenerbahce are looking to add a left winger to their squad. The top contender for that spot is believed to be the Argentine Diego Luis Placente of TSV Bayer. The left footed versatile player has 16 caps and has an Italian nationality, which is believed to be an important hindrance to this player's transfer to the Canaries.

Champions League-bound Trabzonspor are looking to add some Belgian pie to their squad. The club is interested in securing the services of Genk players Koel Daerden and Bernd Thijs. The Belgian club requested 2.5m € for the fee of the duo and the Tigers are trying to lower the fees. They are also trying to sign the Belgian international Roby Bisconti of Standard Liege. Already having two Belgians in Karel D'Haene and Hannes Sommers, it seems likely for at least two of their foreigners to leave. Augustine will be a free agent next year, so no club is currently interested in signing him. The most favoured guy to leave Avni Aker is Maksim Romasenko, whose contract already expired on May 31.

A SUMMARY OF LATEST RUMOURS

BJK <-- Morientes

FB <-- Deniz Baris (Defender, Genclerbirligi) and Zenden or Placente

Gaziantepspor's hot prospect Ibrahim Toraman moaned to local papers in Gaziantep that he preferred a move to Fenerbahce, not Shakhtar Donetsk. Gaziantepspor Chairman Celal Dogan is insistent on selling him to the Ukrainian side after Fennerbahce couldn't match the player's 3.5m € price tag. Shakhtar coack Mircea Lucescu is already known to be an admirer of Toraman. Lucescu tried to secure the services of the player when he was in Besiktas but Dogan's astronomic fee called off the negotiations.

Besiktas wants 29 years old Steve Marlet

Steve Marlet could have a number of options open to him ahead of next season, particularly if he manages to get an opportunity to impress in Euro 2004.The France international spent last season on loan at Marseille from Fulham, and he looks unlikely to be returning to Craven Cottage with Chris Coleman's side next term.Although he has two years left on his contract in West London, Marlet is not keen to try and restart his career in the English capital.Another deal with Marseille seems the favoured possibility, but there is other interest in the former Lyon attacker.Paris Saint Germain and Lens have also kept tabs on the 29-year-old and there has also been contact from Turkish outfit Besiktas
