Antaeus7 Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I just want to start a topic about a Greek female high jumper who was a huge surprise in both the 1996 European Championship in Stockholm and 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta. Both times she won silver medals in the women's high jump. She also won 3 gold in a not so major event (Balkan Cup) and 2 bronze and a silver in the Mediterranean Games. I recall watching the 1996 Atlanta game where she broke a national record with a score of 2.03 m. She battled with the world record holder from Bulgaria Stefka Konstadinova. Incredible for an athlete who is only 5'7". She was also in the Guinness Records for being the shortest female high jumper to pass 2.03 m (30 cm). It might have been one of the most memorable Olympic event 20 years ago. Thank you Niki!!! :)
Lamiara ole Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Very proud of that Lamiotisa . I went to school with her sister Soula. It was my brother who went to school with Niki. Koritsaros me oli ti simasia tis lexis!
