we have nobody to finish a cross other than Mantzios.

Last year we did the same thing, and it did not work. You send crosses to Salpiggiids, you can do it all day. Majsotrovic, Alexopoulos are bigger and are going to win those. Its an waste of time, and the game is almost over.

thank god. I seriously thought that was going to be saved. Very GOOD penalty, side netting. Leave it to a brazilian..

Lucky break absolutley. AEK has been totally careless in the area, both penalties I thought were fair, but incredibly careless on behalf of AEK.

I was always wondering why HTC didn't have Gabriel taking the penalties. Apparently, he's a specialist - he took them in Brazil and he even has a very high rating (19 I believe) at FM! Great penalty that was.

PS: And now, in typical Greek unreasonableness, we will listen to the nonsense about the 'two penalties in one half' - with little or no emphasis on the fact that they were both lucid clear.

H-T. We need an early score to get this game under control. AEK can't even cross midfield from what I see. A lucky break for them gave them the lead. We can take this one with a couple more scores. I am not really worried (except for the "Bajevic luck" factor).

Whatever man, if it were up to the players or fans you would've gotten 4 penalties so far :D

The funniest though were all those fans cheering as if something happened. It took PAO two penalties to score but apparently that's "being in control"

It was inevitable that Salpi was going to miss a penalty. His technique is to put no skill into the kick. He just powers the ball near the center and even though powering a pk is not a bad idea, it does increase the chances of being blocked if the keeper happens to fall the right way.

Gabriel's pk was beautiful. Just enough power behind the ball, and accurate placement. PAO_or_Thanatos has it right, confidence and a little arrogance are vital aspects for the kick.

BTW, now TC looks again like a genious for starting Gabriel ahead of Cleyton or Ninis. Who else is there in our team we feel confident about taking PKs?

Genome, are you seriously saying that either of the penalty calls was bad?

they were both bad. .Both bad judgement, from AEK's players.

Sticking your hand out on a cross like that is a PK. Its a stupid gut reaction by the player, but its a rule, and the referee called it fairly. The second one was all contact, even though Mantzios had no room to be dangerous. Just sloppy...You cant say that AEK hasnt been sloppy outside the area either esp with the handballs.

As for Gabriel, hes much better than Clayton or Ninis. Shame about his injuries this year, we could have used him a lot more. Probably our best signing from last year, along with Gilberto. I cant think of any of the other signings that are even worth mentioning.

You know, Cyber, this penalty taker issue is not as trivial as one might think. Mattos was taking all the penalties at Corinthians. Gilberto took them when Henry didn't. Iv takes them for Austria. And, still, HTC trusts a guy who clearly lacks the skill required. Why? Is it that HTC doesn't know his players or is it that there are cliques in the dressing room that impose their will on the rest of the team? It's really worrying.

We'll see file ... I'm not worried I predicted this one as a 2-0 (even 3-0) win for PAO so if we can take a point away or even 3 points, even better.

What concerns the penalties no they're all fine by me, but 2 penalties didn't seem enough it seems, so we'll see what happens now ...

I have the feeling Ten Cate leaves a lot to chance... I read in an interview where he said he doesn't enter the locker room before a game. He prefers his players relax and listen to music.

I do know that players take the initiative themselves on PKs, and coaches are often reluctant to interfeere. It's not only TC's thing from what I've seen.
