Wonderful first half, I wrote this the other day http://hellasfooty.blogspot.com/2021...ke-change.html urging JVS to remove Bakasetas and get Masouras, Pelkas and Mantalos on, well I was worried at first about being proven wrong but it didn't take long for these guys to show us what Greece can do with good mobile players in attack, I also thought Androutsos and the 3 defenders were great again, actually like seen Androutsos move centrally at times as you can see the midfielder in him, great touches, passes and can get by a player 1:1 too. Sadly the second half was a tragedy, with Bakasetas on, there was just no connection happening, Pelkas looked tired and nothing was sticking with Tzolis who I am starting to worry about. I dunno if anyone in Australia watched it on Optus Sport and the stupid commentator was saying a penalty was given on the Tsimikas handball... I was devastated only to see what I originally thought, it's a goal kick! Speaking of Tsimikas, clearly a little rusty with the lack of game time, I don't think you can fully judge him now, when in form and playing he is a very good player It's no wonder we haven't scored more than 2 goals in 4 years was it?? We are s%$#! at finishing and we just don't have the drive to put teams away... second half... I don't get who we got so poor, no what we wanted to see but overall a good two results prior to September, you got to keep Bakasetas outside the 11.

This is true, since Austria its been 10 games, our last competitive defeat was in October 2019 to Italy

Do we really need to tell you this is so common practice... yes in any game your up 2-1 and parking the bus...

If Pavlidis doesn't play that stupid, carless pass into the middle where I am sure he expected Bakasetas to be but thats not his fault, they need to talk more and you dont just whip a ball like that into the center of the field... school boy stuff, we may have won. For me we played well HOWEVER, for long patches we struggled to get anything going in attack, I dunno what JVS is seen in Bakasetas and I hate to be singling this guy out but he is killing us, we are playing with 10 men and with Baka at CAM we are really gona struggle against most teams as he kills every attack with sideways and back passes, look how many times we couldnt properly transition into attack because: 1. He gets the ball and then passes back or sideways to a marked or very flat player 2. He has no speed or technique to move forward and allow the flow on to continue 3. We don't have a target in the middle cause he is jogging there 4. We then revert the ball back to the full backs, our counter attack is finished and we have to start again Masouras was a beast today and did the work Baka couldn't do, of course many times he was left with no options and our attack died. He should have had a goal to mark a MVP performance. We couldn't really see what Giannoulis could do at LW as we lacked flow until Mantalos and Pelkas came on who showed immediately what this team can do with attacking midfielders who can run and go forward . Androutsos very solid today, I think he just landed the RB role, Vlahodimos made some fine saves also. Pelkas looked improved to me, it's only one game and not massive minutes but I liked what I saw when we had him, Mantalos and Masouras out there. What we need to do to improve. * Drop Bakasetas ASAP - the team will change drastically, we are gona struggle to win most games with him there * Improve our passing!!!!!! This is a big one, we gave away the ball so many times so cheaply, unacceptable at this level and well, it cost us a goal today, surprised it didn't cost more *Play Tzolis at LM Also wanna give credit to Papadopoulos and Tzavellas who scrambled and did all they could in defense, well played. At times though I want KPaps to mark closer Keen to see what we do with Norway.

Will be lucky to create much with this midfield combo of Zeca-Bouchalakis and Bakasetas in front of them ?

I want to see a Siopis-Galanopoulos combination in the midfield, I really hope we don't see Bakasetas play in front of them

Sydney lad also... I was 23 when the whole Euro campaign was happening... It was a magic month, every game as memorable as the other as we ventured to location after location per game before Enmore Theater became my choice of venue. I am hoping to watch the doco at a cinema on either Friday or next Saturday

Ionikos is ok, don't forget they stuck it to OSFP in the late 90's ? Always hard to beat at home, was quite a place to go to when they had fans at stadiums

I want to see what he does with Bakasetas, this is a huge issue for us that JVS does not seem to see. Without Fortounis I really hope he gives Mantalos a go and plays good wingers off him however JVS has also failed to pick a decent RW for the upcoming friendlies ?

Unless we buy quality defenders and get a coach that knows how attacking football is played we dont deserve Europe, in fact I dont think we will qualify with how we are going this season, utter disaster

And we are as bad as his last stint... oh and losing every derby!

Being saying it from day 1, Svarnas playing in the Ethniki is a huge m*****a, shouldn’t be at AEK let alone the National Team

He hasn’t played for a club the last few years ?
