Since I see you live in Canada, probably grew up there to Greek immigrants, it makes you as much Greek as George Baldock who according to you is not qualified to play to our team?

It's ok that you don't see any quality to a premier league starter, stick with Bakakis who can't cross the ball higher than 10 cm.

Dude you’re taking my point out of context and personally. George baldock is not the son of Greek immigrants. His grandmother was Greek. That’s it. He doesn’t know the language, I’m sure he can’t read or write either and has never been to Greece. I’m not a Bakakis fan at all. I just want the Greek kids to get a chance to represent their country. That’s all. Yes. My parents are Greek. Yes I was born in Canada. But yes I have lived in Greece with my grandparents while my parents were struggling to make a life here. It’s the first language I spoke, the first everything was in Greece. So that would make me a lot more Greek than Baldock. Anyway, we’re talking about BAldock!!! If you can’t find a player as good as baldock in Greece , then we have problems as a nation. It’s BAldock for F***s sakes. Not maldini. Not Roberto Carlos. baldock!! Sorry man nothing personal, I just want Greek kids to get a chance. They would play for pride. baldock would treat it to further his career. That’s not what international soccer should be about.

  2. I’m not talking about it that way. Of course if they have been there a long while and have made their life there I agree. I’m saying in a sense I don’t want international soccer to turn into a money machine. And have people buying players and giving them citizenship in order to play. A kid that’s been raised in Greece from Kenya or wherever is fine. His roots have been planted. I’m saying ksenous. There are plenty of good young Greek players that deserve a chance. That I think will help before they go looking elsewhere. Anyway I’m at work boys. I’ll miss the game but logging off cuz I wanna see it as I have my son taping it. Go Greece!!!

  3. I don’t agree with guys who aren’t Greek in the slightest bit making passports to play for Greece because they wanna get a taste of international soccer. If George baldock were any good, (which he’s not I’ve seen him a million times, ) he’d have been called up for England. Why should we take anyone else’s trash cuz they wanna play international soccer. And while we’re at it take that non Greek zeca out too. I think we can find better players who are actually Greek and stick to our culture. Just my rant. That’s all. A topic for another time. Enjoy the game everyone, 2 1 Greece.

  4. The nba is starting to have games without fans and now the whole ncaa basketball tournament will be played behind closed doors. That’s an economic kick in the nuts for all cities hosting it. Guess it’s better safe than sorry.

You guys are ridiculous, so a player has a bad moment or a bad game, and he is automatically trash? Gia sovareutite reeeeeeee Sokratis and Manolas should be automatic starters at cb every time they are healthy this is a no brainer.

Lately he hasn’t been playing well at all. Anyway I agree with j1078. A lot of players have a lot of talent but are poison to their teams. You can be one of the best players but once you bring a bad attitude it starts rubbing off on others. It’s the same with any work environment.

  6. I agree with these points. The one thing I’d like to point out is that Stafylidis may not be great at the cb position, the team has been playing much better with him as the leader. That to me says a lot. Maybe he’s a passionate locker room guy that the guys listen to. Who knows? We’re not in the locker room. But I’m pretty sure he has been chosen because he’s got leadership abilities. Which in my opinion is a great thing to have.

It still mind boggling that Masouras missed an open goal. Unbelievable...

We need to continue playing the way we have and we need to work on our finishing.  JVS has said that we need to work on finishing. Finland are a better side than Armenia and are full of confidence. I hope we beat them at home to close this roller coaster of a qualifying campaign.

Finland are already through. I think they’ll experiment.

We do but there is a 2% chance of this happening - we would need this

Serbia - Beat Ukraine & Luxembourg

Portugal - Gain no more than 4 points from 2 matches with Lithuania and Luxembourg

    Hungary - Beat Wales

Slovakia - Gain no more than 4 points from 2 matches with Croatia and Azerbaijan

Norway - Beat Faroe Islands and Malta

Romania - Beat Sweden and lose to Spain

Sweden - Lose to Romania and get no more than a draw with Faroe's

Israel - Beat Poland and Skopje

    Slovenia - Lose to Poland

Austria - Lose to Skopje and Latvia

    Finland - Beat Liechtenstein

Cant see those in bold happening, especially Portugal not beating both Lithuania and Lux - that would mean Serbia takes their place in auto qualifiers

All this would mean - Norway, Serbia, Finland, Israel and Hungary all qualify directly and we get a play off spot via League of Nations

Better chance of us winning the powerball if all those need to happen.

@Ellada2004 is talking about how a hockey First Nation like Finland fills the stadium during soccer and a soccer crazed country like Greece doesn’t fill the stadium when the NT plays.. His point is when Finland were playing bad soccer they would still fill the stadium as most countries do, as the NT  should always get support.. I’m from toronto and the leafs have been s%$#! for years before they started improving  yet the stadium was always  filled to the tits.. I do think the Greek mentally is if the team is s%$#! don’t support and will only start to come when there is a winning product on the field which is not right... playing in this god awful stadium is doing more bad then god and the NT need to get there own stadium and a smaller stadium where the fans can make it a hostile environment for opposing teams.. Hopefully Crete is ready for our next campaign and can attract more fans..

Yes I’m from Toronto also and have been a leaf fan for 40 years. I see what you’re saying. But the leafs are not a national team. Greece is. Totally different. Canada destroyed the USA yesterday when the kid from Bayern Munich scored. The stadium wasn’t filled because people haven’t taken it seriously yet. When you start winning and taking your team more seriously, fans will show up. It’s just the way it works. No one goes to watch the Japanese national hockey team. It’s just the way it is.

They were outstanding today. Just think if we just had Fortounis in there and Donis? Bosnia is so bad defensively as I have been saying for years. Prosenezki was just going nuts on the touch line watching them play. Anyways great win but we blew our chance in this group for second. We can blame Sokratis & manolas with there huge egos for feuding with coach and throwing away easy points vs Armenia and Manolas letting Liechtenstein snag a draw to.We can blame EPO for not having the NT play in a stadium that is full even hockey's best Finland play in a packed stadium. Greece we are a football mad country the stadium should be better than that of OAKA.

Your argument is flawed with all due respect. You can’t compare Finland hockey to Greek soccer. Youre comparing one best team to a below average soccer team. If they start winning, fans will come. That’s how it works.
