  1. I'd bet all my money on Sokratis playing injury or not with a painkiller syringe. No way he gonna miss the game. At least not all. As for the Croats their only true creative defensive midfielder is Badelj so I d say it;s a good sign for us. Idk what the previous poster wrote but an article published at 19:30 today (http://www.gazzetta.gr/prokrimatika-mundial-2018/article/1158606/den-proponithike-o-mantzoykits-trelathike-o-soyker) sais he did not train at all today. Kalinic is good as well but he is not Mandzukic. Torosidis is not as good as Retsos defensively right now. He is old and slow. Offensively Retsos is probably very poor. Can't cross and doesn;t have any high rated vision. But defensively I believe he is on form with lots of playtime and doing fine at Bayer. When I mentioned Manolas suspension in international forum they said "don't worry you got Retsos lol". So I guess the foreigners respect our players more than we do. I ve heard Zeka will be played on the flank with Mantalos abscence. Hoping that's during offence. In defence I suppose he will be locking Modric. It is a known position to him since he came to Panathinaikos to be a Right Back/Right mid. Hoping for something like this: Karnezis Retsos - K. Papadopoulos - Sokratis - Stafylidis Zeka - Samaris - Tziolis - Lazaros Fortounis Mitroglou **By the way. Mostly to Olympiakos fans. You guys do know that Skibbe created a trend right? Lemonis adopted the Skibbe scheme and fielded a side against Barcelona with 2 defensively orientated players on the Right Wing. I suppose with the results both Skibbe and Lemonis are justified.
  2. Starter material is based on who is the best in the team. Since we have 3 players already for 2 CB spots, I can't put him in starter material , he is not mature enough to be ahead of Kyriakos and sure not at the level of Sokratis and Manolas.
  3. I am pretty sure people still call Bouchalakis Promising at 24. Possibly even Karelis. Injuries fault or not Karelis has reached the age of 25 which is probably an age at which a pacey player like him peaks as pace deteriorates year by year. I do not rate Karelis much. He is probably just an Athanasiadis tier with a better shot. Good pace for a striker, not a manlet and a killer strike if on form. But honestly, he and Donis are the only ones we have to succeed Mitroglou. I hope Androutsos and Manthatis attract serious interest from a team now that they re 20. Otherwise I do not think we are gonna see them go their way. Limnios getting playtime when Paok has the likes of Vierinha , Mak , Djalma and Pelkas I would say is on the right way.
  4. I suppose Fifa allowed him to call one extra for the Manolas incident and one extra for Sokratis who is not 100% certain. Although Knowing Sokratis I think he will be a starter injured or not.
  5. These are all speculations that have little to none real life application. They are all based on small time calculations.Greece is currently under crisis and people find it quite cheaper to ditch a kid before it is born than force it to have it a life under poverty (or at least close to it). Greece will not be in crisis forever and definately not until 2080. I expect no more than 4-5 years. Greece will still be in debt but the economy is already having glimpses of upgrade, despite emplyers taking advantage of the low number of jobs and paying employees illegally and extremely low. I personally do not live in U.S.A. but I live in Greece. But what I understand from your comment is that Nationalism also exists in U.S.A. we re talking about a country that most liberals (at least that's what they wanna be - or the closest thing to what they actually wanna represent anways) actually praise and always try to impose that we need to follow a few of their social policies. People will start talking about how education and travelling will broaden your mind and make you more open to the "different" the "other". But really. Is a bit of National pride, Nationalism if you wanna call it, that bad? I am not talking about extremists burning people bec ause they belong to a different race, or forcing refugees to leave our city/village because "they gonna steal our jobs" of course. But, from the beginning of time we learn about tribes. And how tribes fought each other and concedered each one a threat. By the years passing someone would probably think that "we are now more developped and society is upgraded so your point is nonexistent". Is it though? Im pretty sure we have more wars(and more bloody ones) and far more hatred torward each other, hoping for some nation's fall in order to benefit ourselves. People wanted to fit in somewhere, and protect that somewhere from anything strange/threatening. It's a good thing to add more people who actually NEED our help in our social system becauase on the long run these people will be the ones who will be there for this country(not talking about army), because this country was there for them when they needed it. +An interesting theory that a non-Syrian refugee stated is that many of the men (probably explains why more than 2/3 of them are men of puberty age or older) come in Europe to find females. In Syria and many arab world countries polygamy is a thing. This means the rich dudes end up with many/most of the hot women of their country while the poor ones are left without women and the analogy is quite in favor of the men. I don't know if it's true or not, but a similar incident occured to a girl I know. When she was volunteering to hand food to some of them in refugee camps many of them were actually groping her. I suppose cops being around and actually protecting her and her Group probably didn't allow them to go beyond that. Im not gonna lie though , It seems a bit far stretched for me, someone to make all this travel just for some pu$$ey.
  6. The good thing with Mitroglou is that he is a killer. The bad thing is that he is already 30 and we still haven't had any promise to come after him in the CenterForward position.
  7. Look This might sound Nationalistic as f*ck Im kinda open minded with the whole refugee thing and I have acutally volunteered to help some Syrians here in Crete settle. Nothing too much in to stuff just travelled with a co students car at the village they were "assigned" and showed them where everything is and just showed them some of us Greeks ain't ultimate douches. (note that they actually were happy to rebuilding their lifs here in Greece and u ll understand what I mean by it later in the post). But this is getting out of hand. School stuff says this Amir 11 year old boy refused to go inside the church with the Greek flag because his religion does not allow him to do so. So, why should our national celebration lose it's religious point of view (even though I am a sort of Atheist since I study chemistry, the Greek Heroes of our wars fought not only for Greece but for the Christian Orthodox world as well. ΠΑΤΡΙΣ ΘΡΗΣΚΕΙΑ ΟΙΚΟΓΕΝΕΙΑ was one of he motos. So, since the student did not want to go in to the church but still wanted to hold the flag, I see no way how his aspect is 100% Legit , while some Nationalists (who obviously are scums) who disagreed to this are the devil himself? Rocking his house is obviously not the answer, although that's what happened. Some extremists found his house and threw rocks at it. But he should either settle to going in a Christian Orthodox Church, since he wanted to keep the flag, or he should have say "I am not a Christian, I cannot go into your churches, I would like to drop from the duty of flag bearer." Both sides were wrong. I believe the school could have informed his parents about the necesity of the church in the whole event. So after people throwing rocks at his house he was transfered to a new house at a better neighbourhood with everything paid and extra money for every member of his family(400 for each). I wouldn't mind it honestly it;s a good move but when it's made while Greek Families of 4 or 5 or 6 pass a whole month with 400 euros in total now that's where the problem begins. We are way too sensitive torwards refugees, yet we are used to seeing Greeks fight poverty and living in miserable situations. Now that's what I think needs a stand for. Because currently if you re a war refugee and poor, you have better care than a Greek citizen who has been taxpaying his whole life. Of course these two issues are not connected. Greeks arent poor because refugees come. But noone takes a stand for the Greeks, yet everyone will take the side of the refugees. +Ι read a traveller's blog with pictures who visited Syria. Half of Syria (Pro Assad part of Syria) is actually not in war at all and people live their every day lifes normally. I can't find it I ll look for it though but I wanna show it to a friend as well. Anyways, since pro assad Syria are leaving peacefully in the half o their country, shouldn't that make you wonder why someone who is not pro-islamic state of syria , would wanna leave? Sure a few find it as an excuse for a better life but wouldn't it actually be reasonable that most of them are Isis fanatics? I am saying nothing with certainty. I am the first who agrees that I don't know , and probably will never know the whole truth. But The fact that everyone pities a refugee just because he is a refugee , no matter his background story, while a honorable Greek with children who will serve this country in the near future (not talkin about army only) getting ditched so that we have enough money to provide someone who consider us a mere stop in his journey to a better paying European Country, is pathetic. Europe is dying and hopefully something good will come out of this in the end.
  8. Tzatziki you are wrong. Right now they are claiming the Flag bearer through a draw.
  9. I am aware of all of the ones you mentioned. None of them is worthy of a call up. Charisis possibly will be called up in the near future. Lamprou plays with u-21. Playing at ajax currently means nothing. Chatzidiakos mediocre team in Eredivisie? Panathinaikos' Ajagun was considered decent for a team in Holland. It is a done league. Youth teams players tell me nothing. Just coz this Kampetsis dude and baxevanos play there. There have been numerous Greeks who actually began their career at Barcelona La Masia and by their mid 20s they were playing for Asteras or Panetolikos. I was reading a list with all the players who graduated from La Masia and two of them were playing for bottomtable teams here in Greece. Can;t find it though. Charisis is the only one from your list I would call promising. The others have nothing to give.
  10. I only see these players worthy of call ups right now. They re hopefully no more than 30 coz i havent counted. Goalkeepers: Karnezis (starter) Kapino Gianniotis (best form right now) &Anestis Defenders: CB: Sokratis , Manolas , Papadopoulos (starter material) Retsos , Siovas Promising:Risvanis,Chatziisaias, Kolovetsios Fullbacks: Stafylidis,Torosidis, Tzavellas, (starter material) Bakakis, Lykogiannis Promising:Koutris, Tsimikas Midfielders: Samaris , Zeka , Tachtsidis ,Siopis (starter material) Tziolis , Kourbelis , Maniatis Promising:Galanopoulos I literally searched in every team we don't have anyone upcomming in holding mid position this sux Attacking Midfielders/Wingers: Fortounis/Mantalos/Lazaros/Pelkas (starter material) Gianniotas /Fetfatzidis(highly debateable on Fetfa) Promising : Manthatis/Androutsos/Limnios/Lamprou Forwards: Mitroglou,Donis (starter material) Karelis, Karamanos Promising : Giakoumakis, Douvikas I do not believe anyone else currently deserves a call-up. I see no reason why. People will probably have some questions for a few players: Tziolis: I want his experience with the squad. It does not meant he needs to start but we can use him after 80+ if we wanna keep a result and need an extra person to freeze the match rhythm. If he doesn't try to do the unexpected his short passes are most o the times accurate. Karamanos: Plays in a decent championship. First League. Not much playtime but since Vellios and Diamantakos have had negative impact on the NT why not try some new faces. Lykogiannis: Pacey dude who has killer shot wide. Really nothing serious but nothing not interesting either. By the way im not implying I want the Promising players to be called right now. But I think they might play some role in our future campaigns. EDIT: They are actually 31 (promising not included). Well I still think I did a better job than Skibbe tho.
  11. Working without critiscism is unhealthy. Achieving your goals against any criticism is healthy. So far he has achived his goal of 2nd place. It's not a matter of coach if we can't win croatia or not. We don;t have the squad to beat them. But we didn't have the squad to draw Belgium and play 180 minutes like we were worth a spot in Russia, yet we did. Skibbe has a few selections that suck. I ll go make a post about my ideal 23 man roster. However, Skibbe's managerial plans have all worked. The only match he really didn't get what he realistically wanted was vs Estonia. We re talking about 1 match in 10. People are literally talking about 1 match for Skibbe. Everyone forgot his draw (which was 100% strategical and coaching outplay, nothing more) with Belgium. Everyone forgot he didn't lose to Bosnia and in fact made them look weaker away. Everyone talks about the Estonia match. And he doesn't care.
  12. name the two players. Also why all the fuss for a Centerback? We re talking about siovas being the 5th option in the Centerbacks. Manolas- Sokratis - Papadopoulos - Retsos are all above him in both talent and form. Diamantakos is gonna get kicked when Karelis returns. Same attributes. A fact pacey dude who can also play on the wings. Vellios is also a 4th option fot CF but if you look at the ones we have Mitroglou,Donis,Karelis , none of the 2 latter have the same attributes as Mitroglou. Tall static centerforward with a decent amount of shot. I suppose Skibbe just wants him to be the 4th option. We re a team that scores literally almost never so set pieces is something you need height for. I don't agree with Vellios call up. I am sure there are many others in Greek teams who can be called instead, but it has a reasoning. We re literally fightong over players who are never gonna play. Kolovetsios? Oikonomou? They re gonna be the 6th and 7th Centerbacks , not even counting Tzavellas. Also when I talked about Negativity, you were the one I had on my mind. And to be fair, you didn't disappoint me a single bit.
  13. Nah they probably called players just to be prepared. I ve mentioned this earlier as well but there are more players called in the NT than they are officially announced.
  14. I study chemistry and took a I study chemistry and I took an MRI class in the Iatriki of heraklion. MRI shows you everything. It can even show an infection and it shows exactly how many cells have been injured /what is wrong with them. All based on water concentration in those cells. Athletes doMRI for everything because they re worth a lot of money. Common people can't do an MRI even if they ve got tenonditis for 2 months (personal experience). It will prove weather he needs to sit it out or playing won't hurt him I suppose. If he ll play it ll be with a painkiller injection I suppose.
  15. Do we have a final answer weather Sokratis will miss the games or not? I heard he is fine but his MRI today will show what s gonna happen. Also don't cry over Manolas. It is just 90 minutes and the team might play more conservatively with his absence. We have the roster and ability to do that. Papadopoulos ain't even close to Manolas level but he is decent. Mandzukic ain't a pacey monster who needs a quick centerback to mark him anyways. As long as our wingers backtrack and help Toro and Stafylidi/Tzavellas and Zeka is on Modric all the time I think we re looking for a 0-0 match there. The Croatians know they d rather play conservative first leg as well since they don't wanna let us have the pleasure of an away goal. The real issue is not missing Sokratis for both legs. If he does miss I can't see how Retsos / K. Papadopoulos are as good as our Manolas/Sokratis duo. They re probably miles away since they re both young and not fully developed yet. Btw my abscence from these forums since Manolas elimination from the first match is something I'd recommend to everyone. There are too many posters who just spread negativity and do nothing else. I dont need various people telling me the team I love the most is having a hard time. I ll see you guys at the matchday!!!
  16. 3 goals in the league 0 assists 1 goal in europa 0 assists and a couple of goals against a team that just got promoted to B Ethniki. What a gamechanger. wow. My point is. none of the ones you mention is anything better than the others. Fetfatzidis? Gianniotas? Lazaros? Nothing serious. Bakasetas and Diamantakos ? Useless in the wings. The only best option Id like Skibbe to select is Dimitrios Pelkas. But saddly I doubt that s happening.
  17. Last time Lazaros scored was the 2 goals vs Olympiakos. That was in the 20s of september. We have November currently. You re comparint 2 turds for which one is the biggest one. No point in that. They re all average at best.
  18. Retsos (19) Stafylidis (23) Diamantakos(24) Lykogiannis(24) - shiet i thought he was 22 or something. looks like he aint gonna be anything too good as some are hoping. Siopis (23) Kourbelis (23) Kapino(23) Donis (21) Gianniotas (23) Bakasetas (24) He has added fresh blood. It's just that they renot good yet. Our defence is settled for the near future. Our offence is settled with Fortounis Donis and Mitroglou for the near future as well. Hoping for Kourbelis and Siopis to step it up. It's not skibbe's fault the rest youngsters are not to be looked upon.
  19. When Fortounis was picked by Kaiserlautern they were actually at Bundesliga. A League of Germany. He has progressed but he is currently a pillar for Olympiakos. Olympiakos can't just let him go for a decent fair amount of his worth. No way they can find someone as good and as attached to the team as Fortounis. He will only go for 20+ million and no team is gonna be willing to pay all that for some1 from the Greek League at a non developing age. Donis will have a better career because he is something that modern football needs. He has pace he has the vision to go and slip through defences and he can also dribble past defenders and easily win his man-to-man opponents. He is not static he is a counter-attack player and this is something that gives hope for Greek NT. Donis,Fortounisand Stafylidis (not talking about players that have not been picked yet/have not proved their worth yet) have some sort of pace and are able to play fast. One touch passes dribbles and do the unexpected. Add Karelis pace in a Striker and you got a modern football NT. We ve really never seen this football because we never had fast players. Remember Samaras and Salpiggidis in the wings. Guys were sorta slow. They got the job done but they never really did any ball control miracles. Talent offensively exists. What we gotta hope is them developing correctly and training alongside some experts of the sport. And adding the few young players who are in this NT and seem to be heading the right way I think we might even become better than we expected. *** Id like to say that maybe crisis helped Greek football overall.Small Teams didn't have the money to buy all those Congolese, Cameroonese and whatever players. Panionios has ended up with more than 6 Greeks in his line up in this and the previous season. Same for many other teams. If it did help or not, it's a matter of weather this talent becomes what they have to be. ****Also, that poor Bento guy heard so much but that mofo literally upgraded Retsos,Nikolaou,Androutsos,Manthatis, to the A team and im gonna burst my balls that at least half of them (Retsos already did it) are gonna be sold to big teams.
  20. You are wrong Choutos got him in trials with many italain teams at least as many as he could and none wanted him yet. Choutos knows what to do for a career. He was too bad to play in the teams he did. Id worry not. All he has to do is make sure Panionios makes it to Europe next year and the lights will be on him.
  21. Vlachodimos (hopefully) Bakakis - Manolas - Retsos - Stafylidis/Koutris Siopis - Galanopoulos Lamprou/Limnios - Pelkas - Limnios/Stafylidis Lamprou this could be how our NT will look like in 5+ years. Predicting Stafylidis to be a captain in a few years by the way.
  22. Pelkas will be in the squad for the World Cup if we qualify, or a starter for the next campaign. He has matured and the fact that Paok trusts him so much to bench players like Mak and Viereinha for him , making him a captain is gonna make it worth looking him up.
  23. Spyropoulos, 34 (No Team) Moras , 35( Plays for Panetolikos) Samaras 32 (Turkish League 2) Vyntra 36 (Omonia) Salpiggidis 36(No team) These players know whats it like to qualify for a World Cup. Skibbe is literally mentally challenged if he is not picking ALL of them in both the squad and his starting lineup. Imma go with you here Melbourne. This guy is an idiot. We gotta kick him and give space for Takis Gkwnias in the National Team's bench as the coach.
  24. Toro was said to probably be fit. Manolas will be fit Stafylidis is said to have awound so I would count him in. He just can't train/play with others for hygiene reasons (imagine your whole squad gettng sick from the same thing because they came in touch with his blood. Didnt know they take such unreal hygiene measures tho.
  25. You dudes are really asking for it. What does Greece havE? Good defence. How we gonna line up? Karnezis Torosidis - Siovas - Manolas - Sokratis - Retsos - Papadopoulos - Tzavellas - Stafylidis Fortounis Mitroglou Either you like it or not , 8 - 1 - 1 is what peak performance looks like in modern football. Educate yourselfs.
