  1. Nah those jeans are gonskis now. Gave them to the nephew and he laughed.
  2. On the assumption Mitroglou does run a lot on high press, who is the astute understudy,Karelis or Klaus then with their speed? I was engaged back when Hellas won the Euro and I went to Brighton in Sydney with my best man then and Bay Street was shut with three massive screens on different buildings and the whole main road was chock full of supporters. I parked blocks away and we walked up. It was about 1;45am. I wore the souvenir champions t shirt the other night again when Greece played the Melbourne match the other night. No I didn't get fat. Hellas are too good not to make the next big tournament, I believe we have a definite strong team with good back up. The team gives the impression that it started to settle since the Turkey game and more so lately.
  3. Ellas you fellow patriotic individual super thirio, I have these Be-In sports channels, and I'm watching Hungary, Check Rep Italy etc and I'm thinking where is Mantalo banging in a goal like the one he did the other night so we can jump out of the chair?
  4. Watching these Euro 16 highlights makes me think what if. Still shits me this rebuild had to happen right on the Euro qualifiers.
  5. Perhaps Ethniki is best served then with Mantalos as AM, and a roving Fortounis as a right winger.. Who goes left, Cholevas, Pelkas, Bakasetas, Karelis or Kone? At least the big name players that missed these matches will be available for Ned and Russia matches. That should be good preparation for them, on top of these. Is KPaps available as noboby in the world really knows? Mantalos's goal was so quick, he struck like a leopard. That quality is something fierce.
  6. Big name players usually trot out the family reasons excuse, to get out of playing June friendlies. It's almost impossible for a coach, so he tries different systems to expand the talent pool.
  7. Can I get this out there then, if our wingers are say, Mantalos and Pelkas, do we lack in physicality, even though they have alot of speed? Bakasetas looks likely, although he lacks experience, he seems thicker set. Laz had mentioned in the past about Fortouni's great ability to pass back inside from the wing. Are we served better with a midfield of Bakasetas/Kone Mantalos Fortounis?
  8. Man, the 'Afgan' just launched and it hit the mark. The players looked like they were doing their best and having fun at the same time. I honestly feel Skibbe has created a good atmosphere. Bring on the Netherlands game. I really wonder If Fortounis would of scored that exact goal that Mantalos scored in Melbourne, with the same flair? Does he walk back in as AM? That goal had world class written all over it.
  9. Their passes were hitting the mark, they looked like a happy side and their teams structure looked a class in game two. They upped the ante to bustle the Australian team. I hope they can do this against even better opposition in the qualifiers.
  10. More importantly the team looks to have a good bond and that being the case, could well translate into wins, and good teams make their own luck. Maniati looked ahead, launched and it went straight. That hopefully has gone a fair way toward transforming the team's morale. Not long ago there was infighting.
  11. how do I change my profile name, and add a photo?

  12. With a couple more friendlie to try more systems, the squad is shaping up nicely with Samaris making DM position his own. Maniati showed he has more skill than we gave him credit for. The midfield had to eventually come together so the whole team works. The first match vs Cyprus might look like this; Karnezis/Kapino Torosidis © Manolas Sokratis (vc) Cholevas Samaris (future c) Maniatis Fortounis Mantalos Karelis Mitroglou Vellios Papazoglou Kone Fetfatzidis Bakasetas Petsos Tachtsidis Kyriakos Stafylidis Tzavellas Kapino/Karnezis Vellidis
  13. Welcome sir Nick, my only advise for you is to be a true fan with other fans of the Ethniki, and Never join the Kardashian fan club.
  14. Like to think Petros Mantalos at AM. If so, I won't mind Tziol starting if that happens. I actually hope to see Tachtsidis start with Samaris-although may not play due to injury. If so, Taxi alongside Maniati the man! I'm think Pelkas is available for this one, if so, like to see him play during the match. I certainly hope that Maniati turns to acting in Greek dramas when he retires. Skibbe must play up through the middle vis Samaris, Taxi and Mantalos and via the right to Gianniota. Stuff going to Torosidis every play then crossing to M Ryan. That is a real pisser. Need structure coach!
  15. Lets hope for a man of the match performance by the big Tziol! Where has Gianniotas been, why hardly any recognition by other coaches? He has speed to burn. Sok should get time in the second half.
  16. I noticed acouple of calls for Giorgios up front. well well.
  17. It is impossible to blame Vellios and Diamantakos for not having any influence on the Sydney match, the boring midfielders that Skibbe had chosen stifled the attack. I hope Skibbe wakes up out of the trance and plays Mantalos at AM, this will change how we look in attack, given he will be available for the Melbourne match. Need some shots on goal in any given match. That was the Worst midfield combination to come to these shores ever from out of Europe. Very very poor. Imagine Tzioli played, but can't blame him for that. How has Mitroglou put up with that for so many years without saying anything? Their tactics look similar to what Socceroos were doing in 2014. The edge players pump it up and cross in to goal, in Greece's case, to their tall strickers, usually Mitroglou though, in Sydney it being Vellios.
  18. As Australia have the same problem, the Ethniki Must solve their front third problem, it seems that a lack of a quality AM/dekari stifles their central strickers, whether it be Vellios or Mitroglou or anyone else. Not playing a decent dekari for me says a coach is an amateur. I feel for our Ethniki till we actually land a decent coach. I find it difficult from now on to ever blame Mitroglou in future when he isn't able to influence a match. That is the worst midfield to ever come to these shores from Europe, no doubt.
  19. Just stirring. I have my Greece Champions 2004 t shirt on and i'm warming up. Not long now.
  20. Aravidis was immense the othe night, as was Giorgos Girkitzis. He stayed and signed lots of autographs, took photos and as he mentioned something about the transparency of the EPO, the bus driver was rushing everyone onto the bus and the opportunity was lost.
  21. Lipon, just got in and I just farted. So, what's new?
  22. Weren't Hellas scheduled for Ned and Russia friendlies in July/August though?
  23. Boythes, I love the fact we All have the Ethniki's best interests at heart., also that we are all Greeks. Don't schedule friendlies in June or early July. Players have been beaten from pillar to post all season. A long season mind you. I'm surprised anyone came here. Schedule in late July or more-so August, or don't bother. I will not fall for the cash grab. Organisations don't realize people are starting to Not fall for this. Sokrati had to have his arm twisted to come here. Then, the media have the hide to say that people don't want to watch football in Sydney. My toned ass they don't, give me something real and I'll go and watch it.
  24. Will be standing up in the loungeroom when the Greek Anthem is on pal. Give us a wave. Nick has his opinion and I respected it.
